Good day, Lord Of The Craft.

Due to our recent low ranking on minestatus, some time thinking of possible ideas to tackle this lead me in the direction of this post.

Throughout the month of June, there will be a trial run of a 'raffle', which will result in an Iron V.I.P prize. (Of course current V.I.P's will gain $25 worth of donation on top of their current donation.)

With the idea of a prize from voting, I am hoping that this might gain us more regular votes, in turn, rising our low rank on minestatus considerably. So, I assume you are wondering how you could get your hands on V.I.P for free, aren't you?

The 'raffle' works as follows:

Starting on the 1st of June, when minestatus resets all votes to 0, members shall copy their vote number and post it on this thread. Throughout the month of June, whenever you may vote, simply note down your vote number and edit your original post (To avoid spam. If you do post multiple times, it will only make the process longer and you may be disqualified.) As we reach the end of the month, your post will be full of your vote numbers, (Please separate them in some way) which will work as your raffle tickets; The more times you vote, the more of a chance you have of winning.

Via a video recording, I shall use a random number generator between the first and last vote numbers to pick our winner. This will not be livestreamed to prevent users from editing their original posts. The winner will be contacted via PM and a short while after, will be announced on this topic.

If a vote number is chosen which is not in a reply to this topic, there will be a re-roll.

A reminder:

This shall start on the 1st of June, please do not post vote numbers from before this month.

If members decide to spam this with vote numbers rather than their initial post, they will get disqualified.

Hopefully this will encourage people to (remember to) vote more often and boost the server's rating on MineStatus. I remember when the server was consistently top 5 so I'm really surprised and even a little bit disappointed that LoTC's spot has fallen so low. At the moment of my posting, the server is at 74.

I view voting as a way to support the server as it draws in newer players who in turn provide more roleplaying opportunities or may even donate to the server. And as with any server, the community is its lifeblood, especially with a server like this one since its mainstay is roleplaying; you don't really log into Lord of the Craft to build or to play Minecraft normally but rather to interact with other people and to create and experience dynamic stories with characters of our choosing. Otherwise you might as well just play on your single player world.

It doesn't take very long to vote nor is it a particularly painful or arduous process. Sure, we, the players, no longer receive minas from voting but voting is a way to give back to the server on which a lot of us have spent more time on than we should because it's too fun not to log in :P So if, for whatever reason, you can't contribute monetarily, voting is the next best thing.

To see your vote number, simply look at the -right- hand side of the page, and beside where it says 'votes', that's your vote number. If someone makes a 'random' number, and it's, for example, '4000', and there are only 2000 votes on minestatus, I will go by minestatus. If two players have the same vote number, then they will both be PMed, and their 'ticket' will not be counted.
