I'm pretty sure no one would like losing their nationship and becoming a faction. This isn't a faction server.

I think the continent should be tiny. That means everyone is close together and to start off you need to join a guild.

But what if there were little nations in one big nation with a council at the capital?

People shouldn't be forced to join a guild when they start off.

The verge contained the docks from which we boarded ships. From there we sailed into the ocean and onto Asulon.

So are we sort of in the same world as the verge since we sailed ere or how did we get from the verge to asulon?

We sailed. We are still in the same world as the Verge.

Not specifically a guild, but something that leads to RP.

A council of races. That's what we need. A council of races. That likes to argue.

Reading through this, I have to ask one question:

Why do we have to separate ourselves immediately? Planning where orcs/humans/elves/dwarves will live seems kinda silly. Yes, it makes sense for elves to live in a large forest, for orcs to live in a desert, but still- maybe letting the separation take place naturally and over time is better.

Also, I like the idea of two separate land masses. Also, seeing the names of the forests, plains and mountains on these maps- I wonder how is it not metagaming to already KNOW what these regions are called right when you get there? I think we should have an OOC poll on place names, and then present the results IC so that we can interact with the world more.

Asides from that, biomes need to be taken care of. Seeing tiny deserts next to snowy mountains and grassy plains just bothers me. IF there is any way to control biomes, it should be done, just for the realism. The world also needs to be taken care of just a little less, as it seems everybody was a little paranoid about the beauty of Asulon, which only led to it being a bit BLAND. I dislike Asulon because it is so impersonal. Yes, it looks professional. However, Asulon, in my opinion, is a bit boring. I think having the players help the admins decide how the world will look and feel is a good idea, since neither Aegis nor Asulon went by without negative comments on some major issue.

You can make regions with a brush on world painter.

I agree with the idea Native had on his Q&A about a main road instead of having the spawn in the middle of the map as then you will always have people walking past an wont split the player base.

Also I think we should loose the other races as to be honest they haven't brought very much to the 'whole' community as their interactions have either been very minimal or within their own community. Small diverse groups like the Wolf pack and the Frost witches or even the undead and ascended were good as they are (were) there to go out and create RP and the reason why only good RPers were picked.

Just my thoughts.

I think trying to fix the current map is a bigger problem than anyone realizes. Yes we can Worldedit (and we should, this server has been grieffed to the ends of the earth(There's a form of griefing where people pick a direction and run until they get bored of the idea of making the server crash, this causes the chunks around that to all load, increasing the worldfile, memory usage and overall server performance to become overloaded), but how would it all fit together?

"Are we going to stick Levanthus in next to Oren? Where's Hansetti going to end up? What about Appleton? Sorry you get snipped."

A new map, condensing the player base and putting up world borders will improve the roleplay, and the server performance, and solve this issue where we have miles and miles of regioned land that no one can use because the owner quit the server and everyone who could do something forgot all of what they owned.

I believe there should be strictly enforced rules about regioning. Confine it to place people will actually pass through, like around towns, or borders where nations will stand off with one another, no perms in the middle of a freaking field 5,000 blocks from the nearest foottraffic. No one's going to be watching it, and our players have proven to be mature and intelligent enough to not go off and mine every chunk not claimed down to the bedrock.

But, I agree, can we have another reason to leave besides the Scourge of the Universe again? Natural Disasters, the unleashing of a Forgotten and wrathful god, a world-ending plague, or maybe the land simply vanishing? Something besides Undead would be preferred, doubling up kinda makes the whole even cliche.

Now I understand the prospect of limiting people to a confined space causes people to turn their noses but I don't think anyone wouldn't understand why we don't need lands 100,000 blocks away from spawn loading up. The borders can be set to a very a large distance... 25,000 x 25,000 seems like a very sizable landmass to me, plus this cuts the amount of memory our world file can be down to an EXACT amount, which means more memory can be devoted to increasing quality of the server, and the amount of players that can be on at once.

Another thing, the Races of the game. We have 6, and each has 2-3 subraces (one of them IS a subrace as I'd like to point out). Now I hear that one of them, The Kharajyr, is on a decline, it may be a good time to cut them away and condense the playerbase, the same can be said with the Mori, who were a subrace of Elves to begin with. That leaves us with 4 races, Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Orc. This gives us four main regions to deal with, and they can branch out and intermingle from there.

TL;DR I say yes, but only with more lore and a set worldboarder. Also cut off the Races that hardly interact with other races or players outside their race.
