Blood In The Temple Waters

((Note; this is a biased account written based on eyewitnesses.))

-a long vellum paper is nailed to one of the Cloud temple's trees. it reads;

Kamees, 26th of the First Seed, Year 45 of Aeriel's Blessed Gaze.

Today, a great desecration has occured in the Sanctuary - note, SANCTUARY - of our lands. A Monk - the kind, harmless, compassionate caretakers of our great temple - has been brutally murdered by Orcs.

Yes, Orcs, those who also have left thousands of orphans across the land. YES, the Orcs who terrorize YOUR village, or a village of a friend of yours, right now.

Eyewitnesses say that the Monk was "Killed in the cold blood", "Never had a chance", and was "outnumbered by armed orcs.". Several who witnessed the event also state they witnessed the Orcs pillaging the Monk's body, taking his few material possessions - which he would have given them if they had asked.

Not only that, but they reportedly threw his body off the Temple to cover up their crime. Simply... horrific, don't you think? The Temple's waters are stained red as we speak.

According to one woman at the Temple, the monk was minding his own business, watering some flowers, when the group of ten or so Orcs attacked him with weapons, cutting him down where he stood, letting him bleed out across the floor. They also, apparently, cut off his arm and played SPORT with it. This can clearly be seen by the sprayed blood around the scene of the murder.

This is a crime not only against the Monks, but against ASULON. Against YOU. These murdering bastards must be brought to justice, do you not think? A unknown mercenary, Zulfa, spoke to us - the same one who defended the temple from the recent Undead excursions. (You should go see the monument in the tunnel, it's quite pretty.)

"Yes. The Orcs did murder him. I saw him, next to the blood pool with rage in his eyes. If I was a bloody idiot, I would have almost mistook it for sadness. But i'm not that stupid. I know what those murderous animals are like. He was obviously guilty - he ran as soon as I called his name. I chased them a while, but those stinking beasts hid in their convinient fort right outside the Temple's tunnel. Cowards."

Apparently, Zulfa is offering a FIVE THOUSAND minas reward for the Orc's return - dead or alive.

His known appearance is;

Twelve foot tall, with tusks like a dragon's horns, at least three feet in length. His eyes burnt like a volcano's caldera, piercing through ye like arrow bolts. He was as wide as a cow lengthways. He gots this big scar all across his face like he took a ballista bolt to his noggin.He had arms like a Golem, and could lift two battleaxes at once. Not a fella i'd like to see in anything but a fairy tale.

This is a accurate description, as eyewitnesses confirmed. Good luck in your hunt, residents of Asulon. Justice demands it.

*reads the paper, frowning*

"One of the few monks around here, and slain..."

Zachai ponders a moment, wondering what he could do to halt this situation from happening.

"Perhaps... defensive combat training... I do not seek blood after the orcs, but if they were to attack again, we should know how to defend ourselves."

Zachai runs off to the temple, and begins writing down some techniques on a paper. He formulates an idea on what the monk fighting style could be...

*looks at the paper and frowns*

Fecking barbaric. But this Orc sounds bloody strong... Not even I would go against him...

Keya grimaces after reading the notice, reliving a few less-than-pleasant memories of Orcs in her head. "Poor monk..." She says, shaking her head, "Don't those Orcs know that if they kill all the monks, no one will be here to help us?"

((Hahahaha, I got the reference about leaving "thousands of orphans" across the land. Well done. xD))

*James Adel reads the note and gasps loudly, speaking aloud*

I know that Orc! If only I knew where to deliver him...

Galyn Mortain begins to fume as he reads the note, his face a bulging red mass of boiling anger. Could this possibly be the orc who nearly killed his fiancee? Yes... Yes, it must...

Galyn clutches his golden blade and begins to strap on a few shambled pieces of armour.

"THESE BARBARIANS MUST PAY!" he cries in a sudden rage, calling to all those in the temple.

*Hiroel reads the note and smiles*

Hmmmh... I think I saw it happening. The fight was quite amusing to watch. But I don't remember there being ten orcs - what I saw was a - more or less - fair fight between one monk and one orc.

*Kvothe mumbles to himself, the five thousand minas prize beckoning to him.*

"Sounds like all of the orcs. I doubt anyone will mind, or be able to tell the difference, if I just bring another one in..."

Edit: Looks like my 500th post is dedicated to miserly tendencies and scheming. Yay.

*He then walks off thinking about it.*
