Freya is right. I'm finished here. You can't reason with belittlement and accusations.

In roleplay, I would have access to these items. There is a carpenter, a blacksmith, a cook nearby, but they can't always be online. The constrictions are only OOC ones. If everyone is expected to uproot their roleplay because of the patch, then it by definition destroys roleplay. You can't have it both ways.

I won't continue to explain again and again my reasonings when you read what I say and take out a completely different meaning. The only reason my argument seems like "circle logic" is because you are putting words in my mouth. You are clearly a lost cause.

By the way, intelligence is for magic. I thought it was obvious.

so then it's not a problem with the patch but more a problem with you're not communicating, you could ask them to leave things in a chest for you, or leave notes for them via the books. the restrictions on skills isn't what is limiting you, it's the fact that you happen to be in an area in which other players are not on in a coinciding time with you. Ask them to set up shops, or have a communal chest for shared common need goods.

Edit: also I quoted you, no words in your mouth, full statements even, and then I applied common sense to them. You kept stating why would my character do this, with which my reply is, if you NEED it, as you keep implying, you would go get it. But as you have stated you have the people in your community then as such see above.

I am sorry if my questioning you has made you feel uncomfortable, Rhisereld. I was merely attempting to argue that the one and only aspect of this server should not be rp. A more varied approach was in order. I was a little rough, granted, but I feel that using terms such as "sunshine" is an invitation to fight. While perhaps you are unaware of the implications of such terms (though I doubt it), it is what we call "fighting words" due to the lack of function and the presence of mockery. If you wish to throw out insults, I suggest you be prepared to accept them as well.

But, nevertheless, I apologize if the insults were unfounded. I will still, respectfully, maintain my position though. And I shall not attempt to continue this discourse with you due to the possibility of further damaging your sensitive disposition.

Nobody seemed to notice so.

Using the forums ruins the fun of the RP. Say you want buy 1 plank to patch up a hole somewhere. You make a post on the trade forum, wait days for a reply, someone replies, you reply to them, wait another day for them to reply back, after that it takes a week before you are able to arrange a suitable time to trade with them. This is a situation that I find myself in all the time whenever I need to buy something.

I agreed with you, I thought. Or meant to. I outright refuse to forums most of the time for trade, or any other rp type dealings, unless I absolutely have to. It ruins it for me. I think rp should be mainly In game.

Note: English isn't my primary language so there might be some typo or mistake in this post.

These are SOME of my opinions on both LoTC and this patch.

+ I agree with Rhisereld.

+ Minecraft is about building things and being creative, LoTC is about RP-elements MC+RP=fun.

+ This game or LoTC themselves aren't real, don't make them too realistic.

+ Building restriction is fine, but being bound by skills restriction isn't.

+ With this patch out, the restriction have prevented me from developing the character I want.

Basically I like this patch in theory. But in practice it doesn't work very well due to the server's low population and the player base being so spread out.

I totally agree with what Rhiserald says. Even if someone needs a bucket, who would waste their time traveling all over Asulon to find ONE blacksmith to craft one bucket?

The problem with the server is that the plugins restrict RP. The server focuses too much on realism at the expense of fun. And since this server is no longer fun to play in anymore, people leave as a result.

Another problem in my opinion: So I found a smith to make me a diamond cheatplate. I gave him some diamonds and he failed. So I did it again, and again, and again. He failed 10 times in total before I ran out of diamonds. This shouldn't be right. Someone with level 100 smithig needs MUCH more then a 35% chance at crafting it. Frankly I hate this. This is encouraging me to not get a low level smith at ALL thus ruining any RP for any new players. Why would I? I'm done getting stuff crafted. This is encouraging players with VA's to rob people for their armor due to how hard it is to make! Sorry if this came off rude but I'm pretty pissed right now at losing 70 diamonds and getting nothing.

To all those who say that in real life you have to sometimes search for things, well, in real life, people don't log off. People don't just dissappear from the world for most of the day like they do in LOTC. I would like to think that, in the fictional universe of Asulon, people don't really dissappear either. I mean, you should have access to enough building and crafting abilities to at least say that, even if your town blacksmith is not online, he is still there in the fiction, and he made you an axe so you could gather wood.

Because if people really do just dissappear off the face of Asulon for most of the day, (weeks of game time), someone should really right some lore for it.

A glitch I found is that when your smelting cobble you have to be 1 block away to smelt it successesfuly. If you are not 1 block away the furnace will just use up the coal and not smelt anything
