[Feedback/bug Reports] New Patch

Want to hear my opinion?

Do something that will actually help new players that could be entering our server. Because these are those types what this patch is hurting.

Hurting new players? No, hurting all-arounds. It's not hurting new players at all. The new players receive skill credits when they join. They should spend those credits wisely! I'm a bit annoyed at all the jack-o'-trades joining, they should pick a certain profession, and stick with that. It's offering new professions, such as fletchers and tanners, for the server. I really like this patch. I'm a simple farmer, only one profession.

I really enjoy the patch. But... Archery. Archer should be good at making bows / more arrows, not lumberjack. Archer know how his bow is made, and how to make arrows, so that's more RP like to let him craft these things. Also He should get more loot from cows, pigs, and sheeps, while he kill them with arrows, that's called hunting.

A bowman shouldn't exactly know how to make a bow just because he's an archer. Fletching would make sense, they should be able to make their own ammunition, just like certain division in the military know how to make their own bullets (varies)

A Bowyer however would, and a bowyer would most likely be a woodsman.

I like the new Skill system. It will add more role-play by have actual professions.

One thing I would like to see is the wiki updated soon.

How do you get slimes balls and magma cube drops? Do pigmen drop them?

(Note: I posted this in another place, but I wanted to post it here as well.)

Just some thoughts.

1. THANK YOU For getting rid of slimes and magma cubes. ANNOYING as hell.

2. I agree with the argument that an Archer would know more then a lumberjack about making bows and arrows. I know lumberjacks in real life, they wouldn't know the pointy-end of an arrow if it hit them in the bum. Also, it takes a lot more then knowing the wood to make a good bow. Maybe make a new type of bow that only an Archer can make, that has to be honed by a lumberjack to give it like power 1 or something?

(NOTE: Been fixed as I wrote this. THANK YOU)

3. New players are screwed unless they already have friends here or come with friends to the server. It's difficult to even know where to go when you start, let alone find your way to a city and find someone actually there.

4. Have you been to Dresden lately? There's hardly anyone ever around. So to find a blacksmith, lumberjack, fisherman, ect. you have to take your portal to the temple, then walk somewhere. I know the boats and horses have made things a bit easier on that, but it's still a good 20 minute walk. And what happens during that 20 minute walk? Monsters attack.

Let's say my only bow is broken, or worse yet, I'm out of arrows and I have to go find someone that has flint (ANNOYING anyway). This means I have to walk 20 minutes, through dangerous paths alone (because god knows my friends aren't on).

My character was raised in the forest by a group of huntresses, she would know how to fletch and make her own bow.

5. No skill reset with major changes? Even World of Warcraft doesn't screw you over that bad. This means I have to wait a month to donate five bucks and fix my stats. *sarcastic yay* And what about the younger players who don't have Paypal or Credit Cards? You're encouraging the theft from older relatives or complete strangers.

6. You say you want to encourage more roleplaying, but all you've done is restrict character development. People will figure out what levels do what of what skill, and get them just high enough to do what they want.

My grandmother has put this best in the past: We live in an instant society. Instant coffee, instant messaging, instant gratification. People will do whatever it takes to make that instant lifestyle keep going.

These changes go against the instant lifestyle. People will find away around it.

7. Archery affects leather armor? Could we get a buff to that leather armor then? I try to be the good RPer and not use like full plate as an archer, but it's ANNOYING when you get 2 shot by a mob when trying to move away from a mob and it lags you back into it...

8. New arrow recipe please! Flint is too hard to find to make new arrows.

9. Fishing required to cook fish? Um...So my friend does fishing, and I do the cooking for our group of friends. He has no cooking at all. I have like level 5 fishing. How is this correct?

In real life, I go fishing. I catch fish. I clean fish. I cook fish.

10. If you really want people to focus on just one field of the skill tree, make minas easier to get for gatherers and crafters. Right now, the best way to get money is killing monsters. You need money to get established in a town. So, you're still encouraging cross tree skilling.

And that's enough for now...

I have a few things that I have a problem with. Pigmen are to common for how much damage they do. I would suggest either lowering there spawn rate or nerfing them.

Secondly, chain mail is a type of steel. You shouldn't need to be a archer to make chain mail. That should be the blacksmiths job.

Fishing shouldn't be a requirement to cook fish. You should be able to fish, then take that fish to a cook, then the cook cooks it, then your done not. Cook has to fish just so he can cook.

Making planks should not have a skill level. They are needed to often to need a skill level.

You should also give everyone a free skill change. I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say we worked hard to get our skills where they are, and now we have to sap from skill just to get them to fit our profession. Some of us don't have the money to buy a skill change, or are to young.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you see my point of view.

There have been a lot of bugs addressed so I'm unsure wether this -possible- bug was addressed.

If you shift-click for example a Bone from your 2x2 Crafting square into your inventory as Bonemeal it will disappear, I am not sure wether all of you are experiencing this bug but let me know if you are, as I am looking forward to the results.

If not a full reset, perhaps 50 from where we want to be moved? That WOULD lead to mass confusion though...

Maybe alot of you have not checked the mini patch that has been released but most of your concerns have been addressed there.

Grinding gravel is such a pain. You grind whole stack to get 3 flints... sometimes 4. I died once uring the proces, losing 600 minas (( Felt off 70 block height of gravel, due to lag. )) I felt like "Ain't Happen" Or maybe iron instead of flint, this will be more rp while arrows aren't made from flint, but from steel/iron. They can be normal, or barbed etc.
