Mage Ambros,

I write to you upon hearing of your announcement. Several years ago, I knew a Wood Elf called Rytto. He was a scribe for an Elven Prince primarily, but he seemed to be gifted in the ways of magic. I asked him about his magical abilities one night, and he offered to show me something. He brought my hands together, and clenched them tightly with his. He instructed me to think of the sky, the wind, the leaves flying through Laurelin. Suddenly, and only for a moment, a light breeze flew from my hands, which blew his hair back slightly. I looked around at the walls of the inn that we were in, there was no door open, no window ajar. Only I could have created that breeze.

We left the inn soon after that, and I hurried back to my home. I tried again and again to create this effect a second time, but to no avail. I wish to seek training to expand upon this experience, and to feel that wonderful energy flowing through me again.

[[To sum everything up above, we will not train just every one (then we would have every one knowing magic) we will only be training those we feel can rp well, and will not meta and power game with magic, which is what we don’t want. Most likely if you just ask for magic we will not give it to you strait away, we will most likely train those who already have magic in their lore that occurred in-game because you can’t start out on the server with magic.]]

YES! This is what I want Ambros. (which I know you said not accepting members of the guild so its probably never going to happen) I want to be taught what magic is and how it is performed but don't seek magic. I would, however, like to assist in governing its use as I have seen some misusing magic in my travel.

Its a great thing when you see Ambros coming to your doorstep. Next thing I new they accepted me for training! Thank you Ambros I will not try and make the Mages look bad. I will keep the balance using what I learn and not go off course. But if I ever do, in which I will never, dont hesitate to accuse me of my actions and strip my title away.

If you're just getting to the thread let me save you like an hour of reading.

Things i learned over the last 15 pages:

The Mages guild was, then it wasnt, now it is.

They werent recruiting, then started training, then started actually recruiting.

No application, members are hand picked.

Magic is RP'd with great care to avoid metagaming and powergaming.

There will be some interesting tests as part of the initiation.

Evil doers may be allowed to join (which I dont like because it seems like it will lead to abuse)
