The Asulon Map-Making Contest

"Greetings friends, and welcome."

"I monk Talmb, have heard many woes about the complexity of our realm and lack of detailed cartography. The monks of the cloud temple seek the help of a talented cartographer and artist to create a faction map they can be proud of."

"Should you seek council on the current borders, you need only but ask."

~Rewards~

- 25,000 Mina -

- One small cottage in Cloud Temple territory. -

- One compass -

"Leave your name, surname & title pinned below should ye be interested."

---------------------OOC------------------------

** This contest ends August 1st. **

When you've finished your map, please comment this thread with the image so that I can add it to the original post.

- The only borders that MUST be shown are Nation borders and contested territories. Land formations may be named but settlements must be asked ahead of time in role-play if they wish to be shown on the map -

- The map must be taken originally from the dynamic map on the main-page. -

- It will need to be large enough so that players may use it to navigate roads.(Stitching together images of the dynamicmap is the best way to go about this.) -

- The faction borders will need to be changed when factions rise and fall. We would prefer you have one blank map, and one with the faction borders. Whether you use layers or not it's up to you. -

** The Cartographer whom wins will be awarded a VIP rank in-game & on the forums **

:: Additional Information ::

- This map will be used in roleplay, as a map the monks give to new players. -

- The faction borders need to be set, I THINK I know them - problem is things change often and it would be best to find out via those who control the very borders that you seek draw. -

- A map on parchment would be best. -

[[i will have a go at this. Just to clarify,

We are to make the map via the dynamic map, mark roads and such, are we to also mark cities, boats and such?

What will this be used for if I might ask?

Where can we find the full proper lines to show the factions/territory lines?

How "BIG" do you want it? (Preferably block wise. If no size is given I assume that it's the entire map size.)

What style of a map are you wanting? (RPesque looking map, [like the fold out pre-order skyrim map?] or a exact map? [More like the dyn-map.])

Is this to be done via RP?

If so, do we need to go around RPing noting the land and such?

Much love and my regards, Korvic.

P.S. Are we to wait until all the birth-day decorations are taken down from the temple?]]

So is it a map of the whole of Asulon or can we do a collection of individual regions?

Sad, my City is off the edge of the map :-(.

I just snipped together that for the thread ;o

Also, the original post has been updated with other notes - to help answer some questions that were asked recently

((I might be down, but I had to give something back.))

Jobe the mapmacker strode into the Sanctuary, a slate of stone held aloof, his face lit up in triumph.

" 'Ere ye are, a map! T' likes of which Asulon 'as never seen afore! I've stuck dese 'ere stones atop eacother ter make a map 'tat not only shows ye t' width of Asulon, 't the extent of the shadowy wall itshelf, but even 't heights of t' great mountains temselves!"

When I get home from my holiday I will make a proper original map much like this:
