Regarding The Rollback

Hello, community of LoTC.

Today, as many obviously know, the whole world seemingly got rolled back 2 days. Before anyone panics, Vaq has 2 back ups ready, so the damage will be fixed, for the most part.

But that isn’t really the point. The point is my mistake. I was handling a modreq for landscaring at a large area. I was using the radius parameter for the LB plugin and meant to type 279 blocks. But, I had made a grave mistake. Instead of actually typing 279, I typed 2820. So it effectively rolled back all of Asulon. Now, you may ask, how do you type that number? My left arm is a battery powered prosthetic arm. I forgot to charge it last night, and when it is low on power, it often becomes unresponsive and laggy, causing the mistake. That, combined with my jet lag, culminated in this disaster.

I apologize gravely for this mistake and will be taking full responsibility for this mistake, if it can be called one. I understand the grief and anguish caused by my clumsiness. I will let the community judge me, and will accept the judgement with no protest.

I offer 3 choices:

Ban me, permanently.

Remove me as GM, permanently.

Have me stay as GM.

I will let you, the community, decide.

Hawk, mistakes can be made by anyone and as we all can see, it was numerous things leading to it.

I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, especially concerning an error as this one.

I vote that you can stay as GM.

Mistakes happen, backups are in place, we rebuild what we lost (if any) and move on.

Even if you didnt have a battery-powered prostetic arm.. you could simply have been tired and typed it in by mistake.

I think the important thing is that you made the mistake -while handling a modreq-, helping the community fix issues.

But that is just my opinion.

I don't see why a mistake like this would result in you stepping down from GM-ship, let alone being banned. We're all human and mistakes happen.

Dude, I've messed up with cuboid and logblock myself in the past, **** happens and you're fine~ I've been Admin on 3 servers and I co-own another server currently, and on every one of them I've messed up typing a command with a plugin and fucked something up. It's extremely easy to do and I'd be a MASSIVE hypocrite to try to fault you on it, and I'm sure everyone in the community who's ever messed with those same plugins will agree.

In my opinion everybody screws up every once in awhile. You did apologize and said it was your bad. You even offer to have yourself banned or demoted. I think you should stay a GM.

Ps. I know how scary a mess up with the LB plugin can be.(Use to be an admin type thing on another server.)
