The Burial

Bili's shoulders heave back and forth as he digs through the frosted, dry grass near Daeon's burrow. Sweat glistens down his brow in the early morning hours, although his breath comes out as a cloud of mist. The shovel flings back small scoops of dirt with each heave, each one piling upon each other slowly. After a long, uncomfortable hour, the hole is finally dug outside of the burrow.

Bili wipes his brow, the glum morning sun only dampening his mood even more. He walks slowly and quietly towards Daeon's messy burrow, and closes his eyes as he opens its heavy oak door. Inside is a mess, obviously having not been cleaned in days. Just to the right, laying on his bed with a book in his hands, lies the deceased Daeon. Bili heaves him up, grateful that the body does not have the stink of death. He groans as he pulls the body from the bed and painfully across the floor of the burrow. The door, thankfully, is still open, so Bili yanks the body towards the hole that he just dug. After some more moments of toil, the body is finally dumped down into the grave.

Bili, panting in fatigue, coughs as he walks back to the burrow. He fishes through the dead Halfling's bookshelf, holding on tight to one of the books inside. "Daeon's Notebook," it is titled.

" 'e sure loved 'is books, tha' Daeon did... "

Bili carries the book over to the grave, and with a frown, tosses it onto Daeon's body. He then grabs his shovel, and scoops back the dirt to pile over the Halfling's body. With a few heaves, Daeon's pale, lifeless face is covered. Next, his whole head, and after that his lower body. As the sun begins to warm the surroundings, the hole is completely refilled. Bili wanders to find the nearest stones, and lays them atop the freshly dug tomb. On a small plank of wood, he writes, "The Grave of Daeon. RIP." On the back, he carves, with a smile on his face, "Scholar of the Vale." Bili places the carved plank atop the grave, and sits for a few moments, staring at the dead Halfling's resting place.

"G'bye, Daeon. Ye were a real good'un' ter 'ave 'roun'. May lo's o' ale an' books ter read visi' ye after death."

With that, Bili steps away to his burrow to take a comfortable, warm bath.

Faldo sniffles, attempting to hold back tears as he looks over the grave. Fake or not, the tears begin to roll down his cheeks as a fierce evening wind causes his lovely warm and cozy sheepskin cloak (trimmed with wolf fur) to billow in the wind.

We shoulda buried 'im in his burrow, he sure loved burrows, wouldn't stop askin' 'bout 'em...

A shame t'ave such good folk die.

Tibb runs up to the makeshift burial site after a long day fishing by the river, he does not notice his surrounding because his senses are pre-occupied with a very dire situation indeed... For the entirety of the day, Tibb hadn't relieved himself, and as a result, the need was now stronger than ever.

"Bloody 'ell I'm burstin'!" He exclaimed, and without a moments thought, he de-dungeree'd and began the glorious process which the great Pumpkin lord himself had master-mined at the moment of creation.

Tibb stood there for what seemed like an eternity, his head raised up high, for the relief was strong and amazing... little did he know that his hastily chosen target was in fact the grave of the late Daeon Strongfrost.

After a long while and a bucket or two worth of leakage later, Tibb finishes and spares a moment to think of where he has done the business, noticing he is just outside Daeons burrow he sarcastically apologises for the smell...

"Ah... Sorry Daeon fer te smell, I've been livin' off of Tookwater salmon fer days"

Following it up with a sadistic laugh, which rivals that of all evil the world over.

After taking a while to calm down, he reaches for his fishing pole, which is placed right next to the headstone of Daeons grave, which is now thoroughly soaked in Tibbs urine, at first Tibb doesn't realise, but then he takes a second, closer look.

"'ere lays Daeon Strongfrost..."

Tibb stands in silence for a while, showing no emotion and not moving an inch... until finally snapping out of his trance and releasing a short sentence for all to hear.

"...One down!"

"Tha' leaves one more!"

And on that note Tibb grabs his gear, re-dungeree's whilst smiling from ear to ear and happily trots off to check on Bili, hoping that his incredible streak of luck regarding his enemies has continued on this day.

Faldo strolls past the grave, paying his respects, and as he swaggers past, he splashes in a curious puddle. "There ain't been any rain recently, has there?" He shrugs, and carries on with his foot soaked in what he can only believe is water.
