I'm a Grokk so I'm assuming I still ride a wolf?

Yes thr groks have smaller wolfs then the lurs. And each clan has jts animal, its determined by each clans lore.We have lore for breeding wolfs and for being similar to them in many aspects thus we are the wolf riders.

Even though I'm not a goblin myself (though if I ever re-roll an Orc I WILL be one), I'd love to help make and flesh out lore for the goblins and/or their new sub-city. PM me about it ingame or the forums (In both, my username is Lexperiments).

I would suggest working out some form of religion/magic for the gobbos. You cannot exactly use orc shamans, plus it would be nice to make it unique.

Ummm why wouldn't they be able to use Shamans? Stop, whatever reason is about to pop into your head is invalid. Goblins follow the same cultural guidelines as Orcs do, respecting the spirits and their ancestors ect. There is absolutely no reason a Goblin "Could not exactly use Shamans". This post tells me you understand nothing about Goblin culture.

Well, isn't that the point of founding this village? To begin a more serious, cultural goblin race? I'm just tossing out ideas, wolfs could still be used. Plus I don't see how a clan can call dibs on a specific animal.

The problem with the Goblin troll characters currently is that they aren't following lore. What you are trying to do is still outside of the lore. While your intent is to have a serious race, you are still acting on the same problem. You aren't following lore. Ergo, you are just as bad as the goblin troll characters.

If you want to bring some seriousness back into the Goblin lore, do it right or don't do it at all. As it stands, you are deliberately ignoring the established culture for goblins to go off and make your own culture and, once again, break lore.

If you make a random village outside of Strigzgoi, you should probably expect to be raided, as it is not part of the War Uzg proper. If you are part of the War Uzg, then you would use Strigzgoi.

I created orc burrows back in Aegis, but I don't think Mogroka liked them, and they never really caught on. You're free to start there as inspiration, and I'll see if I can get some screenshots.

First off, ouch, that really busted my balls.

Second, as to Shamans, the way I see it is that if we begin to rewrite culture for these races, I would think goblins would develop their own magics and other such items separate from orcs. I am not the one rewriting the entire race, though I would gladly help. Also, would you like to know why I know nothing about goblins? Because there is literally nothing for goblins. Player do not understand how to roleplay them because the lore either, A: Does not exist, or B: Is ridiculous to find. If we have goblin lore then why is it that I haven't seen it? It is not stickied, and is not present on the wiki to my knowledge. The goblins could use a serious overhaul, this is not just a matter of "people cannot roleplay them". That's my own opinion.

Third, had you read the thread, you would know it is being made in Strigzgoi.

Whoah whoah whoah, there is literally NO reason for Goblins NOT to be shamans. They live with the Orcs, they have the same society as the Orcs, and, most of all, they're exposed to the same things as the Orcs. They're not treated inferiorly in any (well, let's say most) ways, leaving them to really mostly assimilate into Orc culture, as they ARE ORCS. They'd most likely have almost the exact same lore Orcs do, at least, regarding Shamans, Bloodlust, ETC.

So, just out of curiosity here, considering the upcoming filming of the place..

The "Goblin Slums" we made, with the shoddy houses along the path, a small hospital, ending finally in a cave with multiple house-entrances in the wall (which were not finished on the inside deliberately I might add, due to a lack of actual goblins.)...

..Are not going to be used at all?

Okay, next time I am able to get internet faster than 42.5 kbps you will have to show me this.

If you're looking for some burrow designs. The ones I made were heavily Warcraft inspired.

http://www.wowpedia.org/Orc_burrow

We're thinking of two different things then. There is a burrow in the valley which belongs to Jutra.

There is another house which belongs to Garet that looks vaguely like what you linked.

~Why are is anyone rewriting their lore? That is exactly the entire point of my post: Don't try to rewrite the lore. That is not a valid solution. Goblins have lore, rewriting is the problem.

~Ill pretend you saw the dozens of threads in these forums explaining goblin lore and culture by using the search bar provided to you. That aside:

What you fail to realize is that Goblins share culture with the Orcs. They don't have a special unique culture that is completely dissimilar. They are a part of the War Uzg. How Goblin culture varies is that they are smaller and weaker than Orcs, so in a society focused on war and battle, Goblins have to find a different way to keep up with Orcish warriors. For that reason, they turn to machinery and spend their lives learning and developing siege tech and such. Giving them a place on the battlefield that is as useful as any Orc could hope to be. They aren't part of this completely disjoint bubble that exists outside of the War Uzg, they are a Sub-race. Their culture is a variant on the greater culture of the race. A variant, not a completely separate thing.

-snip-.

I agree completely, but even so, we should make stories of famous goblins, inventors of tech, show how goblin society is slightly changed due to their heightened intelligence and small stature; how they settle disputes (because goblin vs. Orc isn't exactly fair) and other minor aspects of changed sub-community.
