Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Juno was never a people person. Ever since his parents had left him and his sister to live with their aunt in Al'Khazar, he had kept to himself. Their mother and father had fallen into debt, and decided to protect their children by distancing themselves from them. Juno didn't really care for the reason they did so, nor for their absence from his life. The only thing he seemed to have interest in was the well-being of his younger sister, Jovia. She was the polar opposite of Juno, always cheerful and outgoing, despite her weak body. Juno was willing to put up with other people in order to take care of his beloved sister. Without her habits of going outside to paint scenery and chase animals, he probably wouldn't have left the house at all.

Years passed. Jovia's body had become much too weak to walk on her own. Even though the locals never talked to Juno much, they admired his dedication to carrying his sister around where she wanted to go. He had grown to be fit and healthy, mostly thanks to his frequent outdoor trips with her. He was even starting to come out of his shell, little by little, engaging in small talk from time to time. It was not long after that she became too unwell to leave the house. Despite that, she retained her cheery disposition, and Juno did everything he could to make her feel better.

Unfortunately, things only got worse from there on. The undead were attacking the city, and everyone knew it was only a matter of time before it fell to the blight. Juno and Jovia were among the last to leave the city in search of refuge, joining those that were headed for Winterfell. Jovia's frail physique was badly affected by the harsh weather, no matter what Juno did to ease the pain and cold. Its severity was such that at one point of the journey she could not be moved from the encampment without suffering an incredible amount of pain. The refugees knew that she was slowing them down considerably, and made the painful decision to leave her behind at the encampment. Juno did not, instead choosing to stay with her.

The refugees left them some provisions, and went along their way. Her health steadily worsened, and Juno found it difficult to keep her alive, let alone comfortable. Repeatedly, she had asked him to leave her behind, and each time he had stood his ground. The provisions lasted them an agonizing week, owing to the fact that he hunted his own meals and gave the supplies to her. Both of them knew their options were limited.

It was then Jovia finally asked Juno to end her misery. She explained that all those times they've spent together outside, she did it to help him see how beautiful the world was. She had showed him nature, showed him art, shown him people. She had helped him just as much as he had helped her. She wanted him to live his own life, one where he was his own centre, not her. She wanted him to move on and leave her behind, but end her suffering before he did so. As hard as he opposed it, she was just as adamant, and he eventually gave in. Using the blade he had used to hunt, he beheaded her, as quickly and as painlessly as he knew how. He felt that she at least deserved a proper burial, and decided to take her corpse with him.

The journey to Winterfell was a long and painful journey, suffering from the cold and hunger. Halfway through the journey, he started to notice the symptoms of Grish, most probably contracted from his poorly-cooked meals. Visions of his now deceased sister came back to haunt him, especially the gruesome moment of her death. With both his physical, mental and emotional state strained beyond their limits, he finally collapsed, unable and unwilling to go on.

He awoke some time later to find himself in bed, being treated by a monk in Winterfell. By luck, or perhaps fate, he had lost consciousness not too far from the outpost, and was found by patrolling guards. He learnt that he had been out for a few days now, and he was fortunate that his Grish infection wasn't serious and was treated early. His hands had taken the worst damage, as those were the places that he could easily reach when the itching began. His eyesight didn't suffer too much, but were now much more sensitive to light.

After a month or two in rehabilitation, he regained his strength and began to help out in Winterfell. He tried to sign up for guard duty, but found himself unable to pick up a sword. Every time a blade was revealed to him, he suffered from a minor psychological breakdown. He distanced himself from the soldiers, and assisted the monk that helped him with his duties in the Reformed Church. He picked up some hand-to-hand combat techniques from the guards who were willing to teach him, and found out that he had a natural talent for it. Maybe it was the harsh conditioning he went through to get such a strong body, or maybe it was the fact that his hands no longer felt pain due to the Grish.

Just as things felt like they were returning to normal, the undead attacked Winterfell. Juno fought his hardest to protect the town, but the human forces were pushed back and forced to flee. As he and the others escaped the city, he thought about Jovia who was buried there, and what the undead might do with her corpse. He considered going back for her, but the monk who treated him stopped him from doing so. The town fell to the undead, and along with it, his sister.

Juno followed the monk and the Reformed Church until Alras, where he decided to part ways. He headed for Arethor, with the prospect of a new life ahead of him. Throughout the journey, up until the present, he has been hearing the voice of his sister calling for him. Is it just schizophrenia caused by his previous Grish infection, or something much more sinister?

What are your characters ambitions?:

He wants to put his past behind him and start anew. Easier said than done.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:

Juno wears a hood over his face because of his sensitivity to light. His arms are bandaged up, hiding the scars and blisters from the Grish infection. He's a lukewarm believer of the Reformed Church. He always uses his fists in combat, and is able to control his psychological breakdowns at the sight of a sword or blade to a certain extent. He makes it his personal mission to kill any undead he sees and give them a proper burial. The voice of his sister continuously echoes within his mind, but he is trying to ignore it. Slowly, but surely, the voice is pushing him over the edge. He has no preference of food, and is fine with eating anything, raw or cooked, since his taste buds aren't working properly. His goal in life may seem to be to live his life to the fullest in accordance to his sister's wishes, but secretly he is searching for a way to bring her back to life, and is willing to do anything to achieve it, if the opportunity presents itself. He has taken up painting to remember his sister by. He still prefers to hang out by himself, but does not turn down company. Minas is of little value to him, and keeps just enough to get by.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

I walk up to the store, drawn by the dwarf's loud, almost desperate calls. I scan the shelves, unsure of what I'm actually planning to do. I don't have Minas to spare, neither have I any interest in his wares. I guess I feel empathetic, seeing as he and I are quite alike, trying to set up a new life. I scratch my chin, thinking about what my sister would do in this situation. Sighing, I walk back home and search for my pickaxe. I've had some experience at the mines in Winterfell, so it shouldn't be much of a problem to round up some ores. The dwarf's gonna have a surprise tomorrow when he goes to open the shop.

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Orcs. Although my hand-to-hand skills are my pride, I doubt I'll be able to face an orc in unarmed combat. Waking the monk would be a good idea, but can the dwarf wait till then? Which side is on the right side anyway, I wonder? Well, I'll have to do SOMETHING before things get out of hand. I walk up in between them and keep them at arm's length. "Now, what seems to be the problem?" I ask the orc. At that point all I can really do is hope the orc is in a talking mood and that I don't get a face full of fist. Even if it comes to that, at least the dwarf can get away. I've been in worse situations, anyway... have I?

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I instinctively take the man by the arm and help him up. I'm surprised at how effortlessly I do it, too. Once upon a time, I couldn't even look at anyone in the eyes save for my sister. I suppose her character HAS rubbed off me over the years. I bend over and help him pick up his Minas, and return to him every one. I've never really cared much for money, anyway. What good did it do me when I was stuck in that encampment? Besides, my sister will probably kill me if I tried to do anything funny with this guy. I best respect her wishes. She'd probably walk this old man home if she were here, too, so I'll offer to see him home safely. Guess I'll be going back late tonight.

Accepted!

Well done, your application was a good read and I can tell you worked hard on it despite having little role-play knowledge, as mentioned in one of the queries in the application itself.

A Game-Moderator will implement you soon. Do me proud!
