  1. 1. Should an optional quotation Chat Style be implemented?

These ideas and small changes ARE SO GOOD!

They are all brilliant and I am certain that they will simply make RP more enjoyable (Especially the slower and weaker mobs!)

With the soulstone change, I find it a good idea, but it may have its issues. For example, new players and those who can't afford a house of their own. (I have a feeling you guys are gonna reply with join a guild). I support the mob debuff, but if possible, can you return mobs dropping minas (this time, make it a rare drop) and have the amount vary for each monster (zombies, skeletons, spiders and creepers 5 mina max., endermen 10-15 mina maybe.)

I tried to scream for joy, but nothing came out. That is how happy I am with these!

Ha ha! I love the new chat system idea, both myself and many people I know mix and match their emotes and talk together using quotation marks, this will hopefully greatly help this process.

I do however also agree with other people's posts here that the emotes within the message should be yellow instead of the hard-to-read blue ;)

I like the idea of the soulstone. It forces people to actually have homes in cities to be able to soulstone there. Will there be checks in place for when someone has access to a region but later loses it? For example, someone purchases a home, sets their soul, but doesn't pay taxes and loses said home. Will the new changes prevent them from using that soulstone point?

Absolutely. When a player uses their soulstone, it will cancel if A) It's physically impossible to teleport there, or B) They no longer have permission to use /setsoul. The soulstone location will still exist, but they won't be able to teleport to it as long as the region contains the flag that disables it.

Do you have an ETA on the arrival of the professions plugin?

You'll have to ask Dgco about that. We have a very basic foundation of the code that hardly does anything right now, we just need to get this stuff out of the way first, crack our knuckles, and get started. The trickiest part will be actually deciding what the professions do in the final run.

Thanks! One feature I'd like to add, as a donation perk, is being able to set your own custom emote colors, that match your character card. Something that kind of suites the character specifically. That's just my idea though, I don't know if it'll happen. :P

Just a few things:

Contradicts the soulstone lore. "You cannot bind your soulstone here," would fit.

"You will be punished if you metagame this information," is a rather harsh phrasing, sounding almost like an accusation. "Please do not metagame this information" or "Remember, this is OOC information", something softer like that, would probably work better in my opinion.

Aren't character cards only for visually apparent information anyway?

They're OOC information?! I always thought everyone in Asulon just strolled around with big clapboard posters about themselves!

I have a feeling that it would just turn into a competition of who has the best emote colours that stand out the most. With lots of people using hard-to-read colours, just like in forums posts ._.

I also have my issues with that idea! Then it would turn the chat into a rainbow and I reeeaaally dislike that when it turns into that. I like personalizing yourself and everything but I dislike that idea of that. But besides that point I love how you guys are focusing on the little things rather then going straight for huge updates! Little things make the big things great <3

I'm thrilled about that quotation mark idea!

I've been wanting something like that for MONTHS. I even made a suggestion for it, waaay back. It was never looked at by staff, and I'm extremely glad you two also had a similar idea!

But, I do have a suggestion/idea/what-ever-this-is.

Do you know how people always have to emote:

Bob [The sword glints in the sun, as Bob shows off his glittery sword of shininess, that's super amazingly sparkly, it's almost like a vampire.]

... when describing objects? Perhaps, there could be another way? As in, similar to the quotation mark thing, but without the quotation mark. Just a description, without your character's name or anything else with it. Basically, an emote, without the NAME in front of the emote, but rather. Just the emote by itself.

For example.

Bob: The sword glints in the sun, as Bob shows the man his fancy glittery sword of shininess, that's super amazingly sparkly, that it's almost like a vampire..

It can also solve the CUT OFF emote problem, that I'm sure MANY experience. Such as, when you're trying to emote:

Jessica eats the cute sparkly eyed kitten, ripping off the kitten's head- -

... and then, your emote is cut off. So then you continue it with

Jessica- with her teeth, munching happily, as blood squirts out in all directions.

Instead, you could make it flow a bit better, with...

Jessica eats the cute sparkly eyed kitten, ripping off the kitten's head

Jessica: with her teeth, munching happily, as blood squirts out in all directions.

I don't know, it's a tiny little detail, but I believe it could give LotC a more of a STORY book feel, you know? Lets roleplay flow a tad bit better, I suppose.

Of course, you can say. "Oh but ... however-the-heck-I-spell-your-Forum-Name! We can't describe other objects, because it's counted as powergaming! Such as when you emote:

Bob: The sword breaks before it can hit Bob.

Then again, with such a small detail fix. There's of course other ways around it. As the OTHER existing alternatives of making these emotes already DO exist. So of course, it doesn't necessarily cause more problems, and it fixes a tiny little problem. So it's a win-win!

I gave this one a thought too. It definitely won't happen with chat colors. Though I will provide multiple chat colors for personalization, but if it doesn't work out, or we get complaints, I'll remove it.

Why not make it a player can choose the colour any emote on their screen would show? It would mean we wouldn't end up with a horridly coloured and confusing chatbox.

Perhaps different races can have different coloured emotes? Elves being forest green, Dwarves being red, Orcs being Yellow, Humans being blue, and so on? It could help with the organization of inter-race roleplay.

Currently, the plugin creates a user's sent message, and for every player, it sends that one message as a non-changing variable.

The idea you suggested: For every player, create a new message based on the player's settings, and send it to that player.

Though it would definitely add to the amount of processes the server has to do, it is something I'd love to implement. Another thing we can do is give players choices whether or not they want to see player's preferred emote colors.

You could also add content filters while you're at it. Change anything involving possible flame material into messages of love and respect for all!
