The Second War Council

*King Hiebe sits at his spot in the council room and watches the last dwarf walk in. The guards close the great iron door and Hiebe stands to speak*

Dwarves of Urguan, ye all may know ove da pity story told by da orcs ove our slaughtering ove der koind but da story has but little truth in dit. I took sum dwarves wit meh and helped da elves rescue der princess frum da orcs. Dey were stupid enough tu resist us. After da rescue King Godfrey arrived and spoke ove how da orcs kidnapped his people tu and kilted pregnancies women. Da orcs have gotten vurry low wit der actions and wish tu spill our allies blood. I say no more. We once let them live after our long war, but now we should stomp dem out fer good, elven arrows and dwarven axes shall be red with orc blood if we vote on it!

Valen rests back in his seat, carefully listening to the King as he makes his introductory speech, deep in thought as to how the council should proceed to act. As Hiebe finishes, he leans forward and begins speaking in a composed but grave tone of voice.

"Ah wus nawt present fer t'is raid n' nor 'ave ah 'eard much ov t'e details. 'owever it indeed beh true t'at t'e uruk 'ave shown increasin' 'ostility tae t'e elves in recent yers... Even so, ah dae nawt believe t'at war beh ah just cause wit'out first consultin' wit' our allies n' even t'e uruk 'emselves iv t'ey wud beh allowin' ov it."

Valen tilts his head towards the High Ambassador, a stern expression crossing his face.

"'igh Ambassador, dae ye believe war beh inevitable er can t'is beh settled t'rough diplaceh? Ah dae nawt wish tae see anudder war ensue but iv t'e uruk 'ave chosen tae seek vengeance against Malinor, weh may beh forced tae act."

As Valen said, I was not present during dis raid. But over te years I know te only way to shtop dis once an' fer all ish ter purge dem from Asulon. We've had I tink four wars with these beasts? I don't see wut da point of dealing wit dem anymer. Since da firsht erc war, I've always wanted ter rid of dem. My consuming hatred fer dem 'as never shtopped since I partook in dat War. Only now we finally are deciding to rid of dem fer gud. Pleashe I ashk ye, the other members of dis sacred council, ter vote to purge this eye-sore from asulon. Over too long of a period of toime 'ave they caused of pain and killed our fellow kin. Ish toim ter rid of them now!

Gorum listens intently on the conversation, before speaking in response to Valen.

" Ah dunnae think we should be th' ones to lead th' war against th' Uruks, nor should we be da dominant force. If th' elves want tu du th' attack, dey should be th' ones tu lead it. All we should do is assist dem by sendin' our military. If dat is 'ow th' war will be fought then ah believe it would work. As fer solvin' dis through diplomacy, ah'll see if ah can work dat out, but ah don' think we can du much due to our alliance with th' elves. There be one reason why ah ain't sayin' we should jus' attack. We 'ave an enemy out der still, th' teutons, let us nay fer'get dat. If anyone is bein' purged from Asulon, da teutons will gu first if anythin'. "

" Ah dunnae like dat idea. There is no 'onor in killin' off th' Orcs by 'avin' two other Nations assist us. Not tu mention th' amount ov Orcs that fought those foolish knights and Teutons with th' Dwarves. Like ah said, tu maintain 'onor we should onleh get involved if th' elves need th' help. Let's not fer'get dat we left th' Orcs in a crippled state before ending the war. "
