Howdy, and welcome to the Lord of the Craft November Newsletter! This edition, we’re missing the Most Noted Player unfortunately, however there’s quite a lot of content to go through anyway! Over the past month we’ve had an interesting time, with a wide range of different things goin’ on - so, let’s discuss.

3.0!

The Lord of the Craft 3.0 is under heavily development still! We’re aiming to release a video detailing our aims with 3.0 and the work so far as soon as we can. Expect that in the very near future.

Dynamap!

As many of you may have noticed, there’s currently no Dynamap! Hurr-durr!?

We’re unable to get a working dynamap running currently until the Bukkit Recommended Build is released, and the Dynamap plugin updates. We’d like to ensure everyone that we’ll try our very hardest to get that remedied very soon.

Upcoming Forum Overhaul

As-is our forums aren’t as efficient as they could be - there’s permissions bugs, outdated forums, missing forums, etc. In the very close future expect to see the forums being overhauled to have multiple new areas, and the rest being tidies. A few of the major points with this overhaul are:

• The introduction of a forum below Server News and Announcements where you get your say in upcoming updates via staff-run polls!
• The removal of the Asulon Improvement Committee Forum, and the splitting of Your Ideas and Lore. There will now be a Lore forum and an Ideas forum.
• The splitting of Support, Feedback and Bugs - There will now be a Support forum and the a Feedback and Bugs forum.
• Permissions bugs should be corrected.
• Alterations to Minecraft forum (making sub-sections to it, and making it a full forum).
• Removal of the forum areas for non-race nations. Only races will have their own forums.
• Grouping of Staff applications under one forum and making them sub-forums, to save the huge amount of space they take up.

Some of these may not happen, however the plan is currently for them and multiple other changes to be put into place.

Loremasters

As many of you will have noticed, the Loremaster applications were recently removed from public viewing. This is due to the new Loremaster ‘system’ that’s being introduced, you can check that out here;

That thread also announced the introduction of two brand, new loremasters - both of whom are extremely well known for their dedication to creating and maintaining the server’s lore, congratulations to Everblue and Lagomorphia for this wonderous achievement.

A new Global Moderator..?

Correct - back on the 8th of October, the devily-dwarvish chap called Zezimus has arrived as a member of the moderation staff. He’s done a very good job so far and has fitted in well since becoming part of the team.

Halloween on #LOTC?

Here on the Lord of the Craft we had a truly evil period of screams of terror... We had the Slasher - a murder mystery game. It turned out this evil being was in fact the famed actor Russell Crowe (that chap from Gladiator), Birdwhisperer managed to work it out! Huzzah!

In addition, the YogsCast also made use of our rather fan-da-bi-dosy building skills for their ‘Happy Halloween’ video! They featured two areas of 3.0 in it! The first being the inn in which my grumpy, old barkeeper will work when you lot arrive in 3.0, and the second being a mansion built especially for the video! You’ll be able to see them both when arrive in the new world! We're also helping with the Christmas video - and we'll be finding builders for that at some point!

I also ran four Halloween themed events which were rather entertaining; a Creative Writing, Graphics, Poetry and a Musician competition! The first was won by Urara, for her piece called the Machine Princess - a truly eerie piece of writing, that really did... chill you to the bones ( or is that a snowman... B) )

The second, the Graphics contest was also won by Urara, for her piece Feeding Time. Quite a creepy picture...

The Poetic competition was won by Benboboy for his piece called The Day She Fell on the Kitchen Knife, another fantastic piece.

And finally, the Musician competition was won by Porkour for his ‘tune’ Obscured Thoughts, wonderful!

Our Halloween festivities also featured some rather terrible Halloween themed jokes, I’ll just give you with the most hilarious...

Q| How did the doctor know Dracula had a cold?

A| Because of his... coffin!

I know, it’s brilliant.

Soulstones!

We also saw the arrival of a brand new soulstone system to the server! It now features Soulstone Pillars - which you now bind your soulstone to. It’s not particularly complex, and features 3 commands and 3 click-combinations.

/soulstone brings your soulstone to your inventory

/setsoul sets a soulstone location at the one location of your choice

/bindsoul binds a soulstone at the nearby soulstone pillar

Left Clicking teleports you to the Selected Soulstone Pillar

Right Clicking teleports you to the place where you used /setsoiul

And Sneak + Left Click or Sneak + Right click shifts through your various soulstone pillar slots!

The higher your VIP the more soulstone pillar slots you have. Normal members have 1 pillar slot, and those who generously donate $300 to the server get 5!
