Here is a progress report update for anyone curious about what you can expect in the near future.

-A new /event command coming soon. What this means is that you will always remain in the Event pex group, but you won't have access to god, vanish, mobdisguise etc until you type /event. Once you toggle into event mode, it will automatically turn on all of the toggle-able commands, and you can then turn them on and off at your leisure. If you want to quickly remove all of them because A, you are finished, or B, because you don't need them on at that point in time, you can type /event again.

-We are moving onto the next step of the build project for the North on the 3.0 server. Some of our builders will be working on creating a rough "path" (more of a guide) through the region.

-More freedom within the Event Team and easier ways to begin events. When 3.0 launches you will have access to a command to warp to the North for event purposes, etc.

-To make the North more dangerous, current ideas are to have "tick" damage at set intervals (every 10 seconds I imagine) due to the harsh, cold environment. Caves and warmer/sheltered areas of the North (caves, campfires, etc) will have regions set up to prevent you from taking damage and "warm you up."

Seems alright so far. I'm not so sure about the tick part though. There's going to be issues with that. It'll cause a lot of death just because there aren't that many caves out there that they can find safety in. I don't know if its possible, but could we set up a "windchill" sort of thing, making the ticks only start if you've been in the region too long? That way, when they find a fire, they can go back out? That would let us control what areas are open to them, as all we need to do is create more fires or caves.

I presume this has been confirmed? Anyways, things are looking good, and I am looking forward to the new /event command.
