An explanation to why Whitewash Orcs do not make sense.

When an Orc is born he is told many things, an axe solves most of lifes problems Orcs are your brothers and you are to trust there own kind, over any other race. They are raised with the belief that those who are pink are weak, told to follow your "brothers" or elders, and that you earn respect through strength. They are also brought up with the belief that orcs that stray from there harsh desert home are weak, called whitewashs. They are raised being told that Whitewash orcs will be murdered, killed and savagely beaten continuously. Raised with the belief to support your brothers in battle, not to run. Living with the pink would be considered sin, and being caught doing so is penalized with death.

So when you plan to make your character whitewash, please provide a valid reason with why they have chosen this path that goes against all beliefs, all there character has ever known. No, a good reason is not "My parents were whitewash" because you would need a reason why they where whitewash in the first place. They have the strong beliefs of orcs impounded into there head from a young age, molding them to this way. It's essentially how they are raised. So please elaborate to me how your whitewash character isn't lore-breaking, RP-Breaking and then maybe it would be considered legitimate. As far as I know, any current whitewash character has had no legitimate reason for leaving the Uzg, breaking the morals and beliefs that were the foundations of there upbringing.

So if you don't mind- if you have a whitewash orcish character, post here the reason why your character abandoned the orcs, because I grew quickly tired of hearing of whitewash orcs roleplaying the positive effects of being orc, but not incorporating the negatives of being an orc. If you are going to roleplay an orc, or goblin that doesn't live with orcs then explain here.

I'm also assuming this same kind of scenario would apply to Kharajyr, on different circumstances however.

List of legitimate Whitewash Orc Roleplayers

-Tadok'Azog [Exiled]

-Erik'Azog [Exiled]

-Maur'Azog [Exiled]

-Jingeh [Exiled/ Bullied out]

-Elphaba [Father killed, elf mother took her as a cub.]

I don't think it is very fair nor is it any of your business or right to demand White Wash orcs explain themselves to you.

Whitewash orcs exist, they are in the lore the orcs made and have been here since Aegis, so despite them taking away from the orc appeal I don't truly think they have any reason to explain themselves to you. Just throwing my view out there, mostly because I see you and other orcs often demanding white wash orcs to explain themselves as well as falsifying lore and getting mad at people and calling their chars whitewash.

I second what Angelos just said.

I'm not gonna explain why Im a whitewash, I will If I have to, But not when you just come out DEMANDING whitewashes like myself explain ourselfs to you. I also know that there are only a FEW whitewash Orcs, Its not like half the Orc Playerbase its whitewashes! Its not lore breaking to be a whitewash, is it?

EDIT: Oh it is lore breaking? Give me the link to the thread stating so, And Ill post why I'm a whitewash

EDIT EDIT: I try not to break lore, And if you think having a Metal Jaw is breaking lore, It isn;t

EDIT EDIT EDIT: My char might be Whitewash, But he is NOT peaceful. He hates '' Talking it out '' He klomps his problems and well, Likes to fight!

Bili, I only know of three whitewashes, maybe four. there aren't any whitewashes, Also, I hang around the CT a bit, Yes, to look for RP, but if you actually RP with whitewashes, You will find that they are VERY active outside the Cloud Temple, Just look around and try to find a whitewash, and you will see that we are Active ALOT outside of the temple

I don't see why it's out of reason to ask what the reason is for someone to explain why there character left the War Nation, seeing as it doesn't often make sense or is even legitimate. We call them whitewash in-character because they are? Orcs are raised to hate them, and the sight of one makes some orcs shudder in disgust. It's basic common sense that an orc would stay with his own, where he fits in. I'm not asking for a freaking V.A, but a few sentences isn't out of reason. If they don't have a good one, I'm not going to ask them to kill off there character or something if they've been RPing there characters for awhile. This is for future players who wish to play a whitewash, it would be great if they could have a good reason however so we know it isn't just another person making an orc with the strength buffs but not incorporating the other aspects.

And yeah Stephensj- It is lore breaking, unless you have a decent reason. and I'm not saying you do the last part I stated above, but I don't know much about your character other then that it has a metal jaw.

Celia - Mori can, Kharajyr used to be able too- Mori would revoke peoples Mori applications, forcing people to kill there characters off, etc.

This post is long overdue. I'm very tired of seeing Orcs outside of the War Uzg who want to RP with the other groups, yet feel the need to stay an Orc, just so they can have this power gamey invincibility trait which is ridiculously annoying and stupid. Sorry to any White washes whom were offended, simply saying what need be said.

Jingeh was born a whitewash his parents were incredibly stupid and the mother was obese they served no purpose, so they were made unwelcome. They were not exactly exiled but forced out in a way from the constant harrasment. Jingeh remains a whitewash because he has become fond of freedom and does not agree with the Orcs brute mentality, mostly because he possesses little strength himself. He also tends to stay away from them because most of his encounters with them end with a few minor head injuries and amongs other things.

If insufficient I will do my best to develop it.

I dont care about whitewashes ooc only ic.I do care about the "orks" who rp as a non bloodthirsty ork and thats realy submissive because thats just straight up lore breaking, its not a question of how your character was raised its about the original lore and the curse Iblees put on the 4 brothers.Krug and his children are cursed with bloodthirst. You canot be a non violent ork because of this single lore factor. If we could ignore this lore factor we could have 8 ft dwarfs humans that live up to 1000 years and elfs with reay high fertility rate ( ohhh wait this last one does happen)

Ps: I read no ones post on this thread

I believe in the players' choice to be able to play their character how ever they want it, within the rules of course. Making all orcs loyal to the war-nation and whoever else doesn't make total sense either. Any culture can have a revolutionary or someone that doesn't agree with the main flow of things, and to say it's lore-breaking for them to exist seems unfair to me.

Solve it in role-play if you don't like it.

Also: I believe I've heard from several GM's that creation lore isn't concrete and is up for speculation.

Same thing happens with the High Elves.

Sadly, you really can't force people how to roleplay their characters.

I don't see the High Elves as the same way as pre-asulon, there were High Elves played as normal elves. Not all High-Elves were 'raised' in a different environment. I'm split on this subject, for one It's somewhat Lore-Breaking however Lore is essentially some made up words and Lore changes to fit someones needs at times. I've seen countless times lore change when it is updated and expanded upon. An orc can grow up as a scrub, get beat, cry, run off and live with humans, then they are raised with the humans. However, orcs do have a Curse of Iblees and I do believe that all orcs should have this, whitewash or not you need to be angry and bloodthirsty. Causing chaos/pain or simply killing rats is good enough.

Oh and, Murkash'lur. He is Krug II and he does not believe in the petty orcish governmental styles and one day, he will come back and bring DEMOCRACY to the orcs.

If its not concrete nothing on the server is.The undead shouldnt exist then, the ascended shouldnt exist dwarfs could be taller, humans could have 1000 year life span. The creation lore needs to be concrete or else nothing on the server has any founding and I could just make up what ever I please

The reason Austin brings this up is because it is a valid problem... It seems that nearly all of the Orcs you see around the server are whitewashes (and is it a surprise that they mostly hang around the Cloud Temple?). This is detracting from the main Orc RP, which is what was created FOR the server. And yes, it is quite lore-breaking... If you want to make a friendly brute, why not make a human? Orcs are CLASSIFIED by their anger and rage, so play them as such.

Honestly, is it that hard to play a lore-accurate character?

If this is coming from the leader of the Orcs, you ought to really take it seriously, guys. He wouldn't have said it if it wasn't a problem.

That's actually quite false. There could be an infinite amount of reasons that Iblees and the other Daemons and Aenguls exist. This whole curse thing could simply be stereotypical behavioral patterns explained in a way that mortal races could understand in the early ages.

The whole purpose of role-play is to be able to play a character the way you want, with rules attached of course. If you start taking away their freedom to play the way they want the game becomes less fun, and begins to feel like a chore rather than an enjoyable activity. Chill out and quit trying to be a dictator. The bloodlust and everything else should definitely NOT be required. It's about how your character is raised and the experiences they've had that shapes their mannerisms.

If you believe it's the players choice to play their character how they want, then explain Villain Applications, Magic Applications and all lore in general. if I wanted to play my character how I wanted are you saying I can roleplay Obi-Wan-Kenobi's half son and become a Jedi master?

Oh and we've tried to solve it through RP for over a year. It hasn't worked, and it wont work.

And the creation lore is the foundation of everyone characters, and the cannon lore of the server? What do you mean it isn't concrete lol? Are they going to comepletly re-write the servers history?

This so much^. Come on now us Orcs were sick of it, just play your character that fits lore. Do you know how much lore breaking it is to RP a whitewash. First of all you would be killed if you even hinted about being one (Orcs kill the weak). Second you wouldn't be able to survive against the orcish trials as a whitewash cub. Third I see so many Orcs talking common, this is the worst lore breaking having these gigantic tusks would stop your ability to speak common. I'm not saying they can't talk common but it would hurt them to some degree.
