Yoff 328 Share Posted November 26, 2012 I think the way this could work is to have everyone have all -simple- skills. (Example: If you hold an axe you can break down a tree. Lumberjack breaks it faster and might get double drop.) (Swords - Anyone can use up to Iron weapons. Gold and Diamond take someone who knows about weapons [Proffession].) (Fishing - Anyone can fish and succeed. Expirienced ones can get more fish at once, find other small items that get caught on the line, etc.)
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted November 26, 2012 I don't care what plugins you implement as long as it doesn't restrict my gameplay If you want professions make it. I'd say make it so anyone can craft anything, just that crafting or gathering items in a high level profession is more rewarding. For example, a noob can make a diamond sword, but a master blacksmith can craft an enchanted diamond sword at a 5% chance.
Diri/GreenKoopaBros 58 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Too many people say "don't restrict people with skills, this is minecraft or let everyone do what they want.." No this is not Minecraft, get that idea out of your head, throw it away, burn it, and never look back at it. Treat LOTC as a separate entity." This...So much of this! This, above all else, is the main point to blow all "Give us all the basic skills and have professions just be better" arguments out of the water. Miquill 188 Share Posted November 27, 2012 I personally don't like it one bit. I would rather have it like said in suggestion 2 where everything can be made by everyone but without having certain professions and such being warned or even banned if against rp.
ATiredVikingr 10 Share Posted November 27, 2012 I agree with Casamir! I like the proffesions and I agree that LOTC is very different than Minecraft even though we play LOTC in Minecraft. I like the Proffesions but I agree maybe a litle less restrictive.
thewhiteknights(rarethorn) 27 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Im good with what we have. the new idea seems realistic but 1 heart? that is a one way street to piracy, bandits, and thieves I think we should stick with what we have already.
Vekrus 396 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Honestly, I am not sure I really like this idea. Maybe just how it's laid out.
MrSyth 636 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I appear to be the only one in favour of the 'no hunger regeneration' system. Unfortunate. Honestly, I loved the system Vaq put up. I loved having to sleep almost each night, or taking naps to recover. I loved that you couldn't just heal after being attacked by wolves by stuffing bread into your face. Herbalism was meh, but food-healing to me is to this very day, nonsense. And yes, the professions are a bit restricting. EDIT: As it seems, I am not the only one in favour of it. There are a few of us out there, in the HE community. We should have a poll, even though I know it'll fail horribly.
Navin_ 99 Share Posted December 1, 2012 Alright, a skill/class system is nice and all, but we do not have the player base to support it. A skill system such as this would work well in a mmo, but not a server only housing 150 players max at a time. A good idea for the wrong place. o_Ben_o 193 Share Posted December 1, 2012 I like the ideas. But it is too restricting! And the health plugin. No! Last time, I was on the verge of crying due to it! Keep health regeneration Vanilla Minecraft. (But you can add bandages ontop;) To heal us)
Princeton 396 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Even if it's not at peak times, they are striving to make 3.0 less spread out so it may be easier to find someone.
Sargeblub 78 Share Posted December 4, 2012 I sincerely hope that you don't change how food heals players. Yeah, it sounds awesome to have an apothecary in the beginning, but it just becomes a huge drag and you end up worrying more about your health than your RP. I think the healing system is fine as it is, keep MC mechanics with MC mechanics and RP with RP.
Hawke 19 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Blacksmith sub-professions (choose 2) \* Toolmaker - Iron Tools, shears * Bladesmith - Swords, Axes * Armourer - Iron Armor *Jeweller -diamonds from ore, encrusting ‘diamond tools/armour’ jukebox, *diamond block to diamond * Gilder - #gold - nuggets to gold, gold to nuggets, gold block, Iron tools/armor to gold * Tinkers - #redstone ore This has too many restrictions we wouldn't be able to even do anything anymore. I know we're trying to rp and be realistic but come on, IRL would you be able to dig down and find diamonds as easily as you can in minecraft? IMO keep the skills gone. P.S^^^^^^^^ You stole my avatar >:I
Casamir 42 Share Posted December 4, 2012 http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/blog/283/entry-362-skills-crafting-and-more-my-rant/ Here is my total input on it, take a read, let me know what you think (Warning it's long and there is no TL:DR version) I laid it down, I think we need something with a similar system.
