Supremacy

Ante'vuln's head snaps upward, looking first to the dark haired mutt, and then to the sky-being worshipper. Her eyes begin to drift skyward; an ironical gesture, considering her conversation company's beliefs. For a moment or two, she gazes at the bits of sky visible through the upper canopy of the forest for a few moment, and sees nothing but blackness, punctuated by the faint presence of stars. No deities, though, she thinks, and and brings her gaze downward to level once more--first with the half-blood. She makes no remark, only watches him piteously for a moment or two.

She then turns to the preaching creature, and simply blinks.

"What is the difference," she intones carefully, voice reasonable but firm, "between a religious zealot and a racist? Only that belief in a deity starts holy wars, whilst belief in purity allows the children of the Mali'aheral to live for thousands of years."

"Walehir, we discuss the matter of Malinor and the predicament it has landed the mali'nor in due to the totaleial'mali in making any action which does not compromise the position of the mali of Asulon.

The failures of each council member and high commander in turn, leading to the disastrous situation we now live in today."

"Please do not take me for a religious zealot. . . the only thing I believe in is actions. Those we have all committed in our lifetimes. I merely uphold the idea that we should judge someone on their actions, not their birth. Superiority is merely an illusion conjured by those who wish to make themselves feel superior. Only when one is declared superior by their enemies and allies alike is one truly superior."

Orym approaches the fire and takes a seat on an old log that's a few feet away from the fire. He then says as he's sitting down "Ker'Ayla fellow mali, what goes on this lovely evening around this fire?" he then looks to the others, awaiting a reply.

*Shrugs and drinks the last few dregs out of his flask*

"But do forgive me, I am a Valah Immortalis, perhaps I have not lived long enough nor lived long enough with the Mali to truly understand how to think and consider as one who has more time than most. Do forgive me, but I am somewhat prone to more rash thinking due to my life I once lived. . ."

Walehir looks at Kalenz for a few moments, chuckling, then finally adding to the conversation. "Ah... That's all then? I wouldn't put the blame completely on your kind's council... Or forgive me, the totaleial'mali. Oren has its own agenda, my observations have caused me to think, this may be a better course of action. If you're to avoid war that is. If Malinor had a council, its folk were apparently proud of, then Oren would have been at war with ye eventually. This at least gives them a chance, to think that you're their vassal. When meanwhile, Mali would still reside over the authority of Mali."

*Kalenz glances up to Orym he sighs.*

"Ker'ayla.

*Kalenz then looks to Walehir*

As for blaming the heial'mali, that is all but reasonable. Every action can be attributed to an inferior decision.

An alliance with the bortu discouraged by the mali'aheral was allowed to occur. This alone lead to the violation of the mali'nor by the armies of Godfrey due to the foolish actions of the uninformed High Commander Khel. They do not think well enough before they act, nor do they communicate.

Indeed, Mrs. Silverwind herself seems to be Oren's choice of a new High Princess, a traitorous and curious move on her part, to ally with Oren. Malinor has acted alone but implicated all of the mali'nor. Haelun'or itself is under threat, yet they make no move to consult before they continue in their foolish ways."

Ante'vuln turns her full address to the deliverer of the speech on superiority. Blinking at him, her lips quirk into an almost-smile. As she speaks, she turns her hands outward at her sides, palms facing toward him in an open gesture.

"I used the extreme as you did: to make a point," she makes a soft, thoughtful sound in her throat, "judgement is different from categorization. Males and females, for example, take their places in society based on mere impression of gender. This is proper, because implicit cannot be argued. So it is with race. Purity is a fact, much like gender. It is logical to draw conclusions from matters of fact."

She coughs a bit, placing a fist delicately over her mouth before resuming.

"But, much as notions of power and war, notions of religion are based on muddy logic and projection into the future," she sighs, hands clasping behind her back, "And we see how much good it does to abide by such standards."

Orym nods to Kalenz then looks to the two people that he assumes are arguing. He refrains from commenting as he doesn't know what they're talking about yet. His face displays an expression of interest as his eyes look back and forth between the two as they speak. His hands are on his lap, and his fingers are crossed.

Orym then continues to listen as Kalenz and the other person join into the discussion. He still refrains from commenting.

"Aye, we can all agree that the Elves have fallen from the path that Malin set for us and that will have to be rectified in time. However, we must deal with the issues that this has caused for the moment rather than the cause itself. To stop a house from burning down, you must first put out the fire surrounding it. Granted, we must find our way again as elves, however first we must rectify our situation with the outside world."

"You llir would know far better than any other as to which actions precisely caused each reaction of Oren. Each, as far as I can see is attributed to an inattentive council. Regardless of their good intentions; which I do not doubt.

As I have said before, foresight is the mark of a true mali. Something your delightful little council seems all to eager to ignore. No decision, regardless of intention will do good if it is uninformed and rash."

*Nods slowly at Ante'vuln and seems to drift off and appear to be thinking deeply on other thoughts*

((Also going to be heading to bed I will continue tomorrow, and thanks for the great RP))

Walehir nods slowly as he listens to Lafthi, turning to him he says, "There are plenty of lands throughout Asulon, and even on your isles, there is a plethora more strategically valued sites. Most due to natural land! Normander and Haelun'or, though spectacular, are so... Awful, in terms of preparing for siege. Quite honestly, Kalenz, I'm impressed your kin has prevailed so far, and so well, from your trials of before. If rejoining with yours ties to the ways of Mali before is your goal, then turning towards nature for sanctuary sounds as good a plan as any."

Walehir, once more, turns to Kalenz. Inputting a last little bit before he awaits their responses. "As for ye, Kalenz, a speech is all in good favor. However you've not enough soldiers to bolster with words. Oren does, and as we sit here and complain about the apparent implosion of your heritage, leadership, and serenity. They prepare for their next step. The Imperial Queen has many agendas, dear Kalenz, and I assure ye. Empires did not become empires, by being diplomatic..."

"The valah of Oren are the issue, not the council. They jump at the chance of combat, and all want to rule asulon, due to most valah being blinded by youth and not having long lives.

While the council could of done better, it's mainly the young men of oren that wish to kill everything that moves that create the problems that we have today. Take their white-rose for example: They hate all mali'ker for no reason at all. They put mali'ker heads on spikes and shove the spikes into the ground then laugh about it.

We cannot change the valah, nor can we change the past, but we can do our best to foresee and plan the future to prevent us from having to deal with any more problems."

*Lafthi once again speaks up, however a small bit of annoyance has seemed to creep into his voice*

"We could stand here talking about unsatisfactory decisions until Godfrey and his army storm the gates of Normandor and not help Mali'nor one bit. What we must decide here is how to deal with the decisions that have been made and as such cannot be reversed. In other words, how do we proceed forward?"
