How can a player who's been here 4 months be GM? 4 months does not indicate the amount of experience with the community they should have in order to be a GM. She is still new to the server.

The question is, why her when there are players interested and have been around a lot longer than she has and understand the community better?

Having an educated guess (something one might wanne try once in a while) after reading her application, I would assume it's due to the fact that she has a lot of experiences moderating MC servers. You people said there are not enough GMs online. Learning a GM takes not only time, but it also takes time away from another GM, that has to teach the new one. Is it wrong to capitalize on the pre-existing skill set of somebody? It was basically the same thing back in January with Mau5noize and Oceas. I think Danny was also promoted to GM after only 4 month on the server. Liri was made GM like 4 weeks after joining. This were all horrible decisions, I have to assume?

I fully support SerenityOnyx becoming an Admin, I've interacted with her for a long while now, and we've had our runins and butted heads on many occassions, but I have a great deal of respect for her. Most of what people quote 'know' about her is from the rumormill and has been blown way out of proportion, time and time again. Things are faked by people who dislike her simply because they have nothing better to do than try to trash her reputation because she punished them or a friend of theirs in the past for something that completely deserved punishment, but they felt wronged by.

I've seen much faked evidence come along, altered skype chat records, erotica supposedly written by her, though it was not (just because it's based in Menorcress does not mean she wrote it, there are a LOT of disgruntled former Mori out there with enough knowledge to write such things). I've seen some chat records that were so clearly altered it was laughable, especially ones that I was personally involved in and could look at the ACTUAL records.

Dusky is a fine person, and will make a wonderful Admin, and clearly the other Admins and GM's all agree on this. If she was really as bad as some people try to demonize her to be, don't you think the staff would have less respect for her, or she would have been removed? Just because someone says something does not make it true, rumors are the death of you.

A player with 4 monthes of experience is just as good as someone ith a year of experience in LoTC. Time isn't the only thing we consider when making people GMs.

Ok, just injecting myself into this ever so slightly, the first of which is to mention to Yayfunfunfun6's snipped post & how Mogroka reacted to the first point. He had heard, as I had told him. I experience a mass of poisonous spiders spawned on top of my head, with no role play emote at all while in the Caverns after the Mori had died. I then questioned Dusk to find out that she had emoted, but to the others in Caverns, who happened to be around about... 50 blocks away, so I had no idea this was happening, until I heard 'S*** Run!' on Team speak, and then getting killed. No I have no screenshots, as I wish not to actually complain, as speaking to Dusk afterwards, I was dealt civilly, I may have not been refunded of the items I lost, but I was satisfied by her mistake and how she dealt with it, so I hold no quarrel with her.

Jroy96 - Well done, I can't think of a better person to get the job.

Rhia - From the ten seconds I have interacted with you, you seem to be up for the job

Just a small tip. Maybe the GMs should try to hide less in their locked channels on TS. If you have something imported to discuss players aren't supposed to know, then go ahead. If you just sit there and talk about Pokemon or how awesome The Walking Dead is (the answer is extremely awesome), then why not do it in an accessible channel.

I think part of the reason why Danny and Urasept are so popular is, because when they are on, they are usually available. You have a chance to get to know them without being super clingy or especially well liked by them.

Seince I know neither of the new staff members or have ever even talked to them (Although I think I have spoken with Serenity once but I am not sure...),I won't judge you based on what i've heard, and instead wish all three of you the best of luck

Excuse me, but I couldn't help notice the fact that in this thread, most of the player base have acted like total jerks. Is this the Lotc we want? You slander the staff due to some bullshit rumors set out ages ago, and make assumptions based on some other bullcrap, quarrel with them as if they were about to slit your throat? Cut the crap and, yes, f***ing straighten up. Slap yourself a couple of times in the face, because this just pisses me off. The lack of respect and trust some of the players on LotC have towards the staff is basically below zero (and decreasing), and just completely disgusting. The staff chose to promote these three, not to piss off you, or make you all seem miserable, but to the fact that they believe these three can brighten up the future of LotC, and help YOU!

This thread wasn't meant to post crap about our new GMs/admin, but to inform the player base of their promotions, and that the staff is taking action for the missing admins/gms. There seems to be an awful misconception here somewhere, as you start spewing out crap, which you have no freaking idea about, and then fling it at the staff. Not cool, not cool at all, and very disrespectful. Really, you should shame yourself. The staff works for hours and hours, devoting a large amount of time to keep this server up and running, without getting anything back but devastating feedback and stupid claims from the very people they try to bring the worlds best goddamned role playing experience to!

Next time, think about the amount of time and dedication, because most of you obviously haven't. I've made my statement, now choose your own more wisely!

On another note, congratulations to the newly promoted members, I am sure the staff was right about their decisions.
