An Unfortunate End

Nothing could describe the emotionless void that surrounded Tiburon. His once delicate touch had turned hard like the rock he mined from. His world had gone upside down in a matter of days. The cruel depiction of his once beloved town had turned into a wasteland. The Syndicate had struck and there was nothing his intellectual mind could do to shake the awful, yet vivid memories. He witnessed the men he once led slain like a cow past its prime. He saw the destruction of his carefully planned out architecture, the screaming of the children, the lost hope in everyone’s eyes.

“This is it.” Tiburon said in a fretful mumble, tears rolling down his rosy cheeks. His face as wet as a widow’s handkerchief. “How could life go from such joy, such ecstasy to this?” His depressed look could send any man running. Even his own wife didn’t know what had become of him.

“My time is now.” He barked, his voice cracking, the tears filling his mouth. Life wasn’t as surreal for Tiburon as it was when he was younger. He had people to protect, an entire town counting on him for safety. He had failed them. Only a handful of innocent citizens could witness another brisk winter day. The rest of Khabbi would never get to enjoy the snow covered plains, the chirping of the red birds, the sound the crops made as the gentle breeze flew against them. It could’ve been avoided, Tiburon knew that. If only he had acted quicker, trained more men.

The death of so many was on his shoulders. Tiburon had grown up with the belief that if the town you lead was to fall then you must go down with it. It was honor more than anything. Even though he knew his time needed to come he didn’t want to think about it. His frost bitten hand trembled at the thought. His eyes scanned his room for a quill and paper. Once seen Tiburon began to jot down a few words for his loved ones. His artful handwriting was the only happy part of his anymore. The letter read:

“To all who I had the opportunity to love I must take my leave. With Khabbi gone there is nothing left for me. I must apologize to you Leylae. I haven’t been the lover that you need. I know you will be strong without me. I have seen your ability to cope with any problem. Our kid shall be in great hands. Goodbye my love and goodbye my friends. Perhaps we shall see each other again in a new life.”

With his hands draped the rope Tiburon grinned. His ending would be quick and painless, his mind was at peace. peace. The rough texture of the rope blistered his hands as he began to knot it the way he used to when honorably slaying his enemies. It seemed like nothing then, why should it now?

Once knotted Tiburon took a deep breath. The rope looked sinister as he placed it onto a large metal bolt jetting out of the wall. His breathing quickened. Fear in his eyes, the memory of his child and destruction of his city seemed even clearer as he thought back on those once significant moments. With the other side around his neck and his body high on the table Tiburon leaped. The ending came quick, just as he suspected. The pain was gone, his mind… at peace.

Galendar sat in his house in khabbi reading the the letter. As he finished the first sentence, tears of sadness rolled down his face, the pain too much to bare. Another "brother" in Galendar's life had been pryed away from him but this one was even more painful. Galendar tossed the letter into the fire screaming out in pain and anger. Khabbi shook of fear as Galendar tore into the Mansion Tiburon had been building. He ran through the main hall ripping up the carpets and tearing down the banners. The tears now masked his face, but the darkness inside him continued fighting. With a sudden movement he grabbed a torch from the wall throwing it onto the pile of chairs, tables, banners, etc the whole building began burning.. The snow around the mansion melted as Galendar left. He turned back one last time to look at the last memory of Tiburon he had as the windows blew out and the building began to collapse. Galendar turned away never being seen in Khabbi again.

Amon walks off the boat to his "home" after months of not seeing it. He sees smoke billowing from the manor and runs over. He runs to the gate and sees ruins and charred remains of the manor he watched being built since the beginning. He begins searching the town for anyone, he checks all the houses around him and the barracks. When he goes into Tibs house he sees him laying on the floor not moving. He runs over and checks to see if he is breathing. He can't find and signs of life and his eyes begin to water. He looks down to Tib with tears rolling down his face. He thinks of all the times they had, when he first arrived and joined the warband. All he had done for him and now it is gone, like a breeze, it was gone. He stands up and slowly walks to the door, tears still falling down his cheeks. He stops and turns back, he grabs the jacket from his pack and lays it down on the ground. He walks over to Tib and cuts the rope holding Tib as he does. He then lays him down on the jacket and leaves. As he leaves he thinks about everyone in Khabbi, everyone that has changed him. He gets on the boat and sails away.

Wrex sits outside his house with his wife, as a bird lands outside. He´s youngest child runs out and pets the bird, then takes the message and delivers it to Wrex. Wrex smiles watching how animal friendly his child is everything in his life is going great at the moment. The bandits are gone, his children are safe, and Mordin Raloch is doing great as well. As wrex thinks on all the good stuff going on he opens the letter, first he takes a bite from an apple and then he takes his attention to the letter.

“Dear Wrex

Your old friend Tiburen was found dead yesterday… he had hanged himself… we don’t know why he did it.”

Wrex drops the letter on the ground he looks up on the sky. Tears falling down his eye´s, his wife laughs and says. “Hell Wrex I don’t think I ever have seen you cry before.” Wrex simply ignores her and walks away from his house. He keeps looking up in the sky, he begins to run his tears getting bigger in number. As he gets near a practice dummy he begins to smash all his power into it, he keeps hitting it and shouts “Why? I wanted to keep my promise! Why did you have to end yourself?” He uses all his power and rips the head off the dummy. Behind him comes his son running, he runs up behind Wrex. Wrex turns around and smiles still with tears in his face. He takes his hand on his sons head “From this day my son….. You will be named Tiburon”
