Asulon Final Event / 2.5 Unveiling

[Urasept 1361]

*Hundreds take refuge in the Wilven Sanctuary, with members of all races and nations about. Elves mingle with Humans, as Orcs angrily quarrel with drunken Dwarves. Few know why everyone has taken to being in the Sanctuary, all they know is that the world had recently become a lot more hostile, with unexpected death coming to those in their prime. The Monks offered protection from this new world, and although the Sanctuary was as lively as ever, even it seemed different. A small group of men sit on the ground, talking quietly about the recent happenings. As they are passed, one of them is heard more prominently than the others.*

"...did ye not hear about the attack all those years ago on the Dwarves by those dang Lysistrata folk? Aye, for whatever reason they decided it was a good idea to pis' off the Dwarves, but luckily it was pushed back by some ol' man in white clothing. However, apparently that wasn't enough for the villagers, they got so mad that just last year they invaded the ground on which we stand this very moment! Aye, they got some nerve they do, they came in like rabid dogs and destroyed the beacon in the center of the Sanctuary!

Well anyways, the Dwarves already had something against those Lysistrata, so this recent happening was just all the reason to head right on over to their village and kill every last one of 'em. Served those buggers right if ye ask me! That's not the important part though, apparently the Dwarves came across some tomes that had been dropped during the massacre, hinting towards a new land. Lady Eldecia herself went eastward all those years ago on a quest to find this place, and supposedly the Lysistrata who hadn't been at the village got up and followed her!

I say curse 'em, those cowardly buffoons! Have ye not seen these lands as of late? Apparently the beacon they destroyed was holding some kind o' curse at bay, a curse that had been here long before we even arrived from good ol' Aegis. Orcs have been gettin' even more violent, they even began killing their own over petty arguments! I also have heard whispers of Elves having even greater difficulty conceivin' children, not a single child has been born since the destruction of the beacon. This supposed curse is nothin' to be laughed off.

I'm sure ye all know the rest of the story, it's why we're here now, although no one seems to know it. Besides the curse, the change in the world caused a massive change physically too! Ye can all hear the howls o' the wind and the constant thunder raging outside the Sanctuary's borders, aye? Ye'd wonder why here hasn't been hit yet though, maybe some enchantments still linger protecting us from this monstrosity, a blessing if ye ask me!

All I'm sayin' is that, when this storm passes, we'll need to find a way out of these cursed lands, or else we'll all perish. I can tell ye right now from the looks of it that all the worthy sea vessels have been destroyed or heavily damaged, but there are plenty o' decent men around who can rebuild 'em. I'd say that we could follow those Lysistrata through the fog with our new ships, and perhaps we'll get lucky enough to come across 'em, because then we'll rip the sad excuses of life right from their bodies!

O' course, now I'm just getting ahead o' myself. Let's worry about the task at hand, then we can worry about the future..."

*The men nod their heads at each, then they get up and continue on with their business. At the break of dawn, the storm lets out a final thunder and then dies out.*

((We will be hosting a Final event for Asulon on Saturday Dec 15th at 3pm EST. It will be your chance to give a final farewell to Asulon as we know it but with a twist. The staff and I hope many of you join us for the event.

I must reiterate that this is leading to 2.5. This means that the goings of your character truly do matter now, as it is the right correct time period once again. This being said, if your character died in Asulon before now, they are dead again.

I must also apologize for the time it took to get 2.5 going. I know many of you have been asking for it for some time since the temp started. But the staff and I thank you for your patience.

Also keep in mind this is merely an opener for 2.5. This is more for the final event and leading into the transitional Lore of 2.0 to 2.5. Expect that update soon!))
