History

Graeme Parker was born to Mary Brandybuck, he did not know his father and he would not know of him for many years. Jhonen Parker, his father, had owned land and a farm outside Alras and would often make trips to town to sell his wheat and fish. While staying at an Inn on a particularly stormy day he met a woman named Mary Brandybuck. They spent the night together and in the morning Jhonen had returned to his land and left Mary pregnant with Graeme. Mary raised Graeme primarily in Dunwood, amongst his people the halflings. As Graeme grew older times grew more and more unstable and when he reached the age of 15 he and his mother boarded the boats and began the journey to Asulon. Graeme was always curious of whom his father was but his mother never told him, always saying “He had your blue eye and brown hair, he left and that is that!”

Little did Mary or Graeme know Jhonen never ran from the Inn that night, his leaving was forced. He received word that very night stating that his farm had been ransacked and his land scorched. When he returned to the Inn the next day Mary was gone and Jhonen could do nothing to locate her. Many years after the boats had landed in Asulon, Mary passed away and finally she told Graeme his father’s name, Jhonen. Graeme knew the place to look so he packed his spices and set out for Branborough, the home of the Halflings. Once he arrived he was promptly reunited with his father who was an aging Elder by this time. He learned many things from his father in the years they were together such as old recipes, Halfling stories, pipe-making, ale brewing, and how to properly farm a field and catch a fish. Jhonen’s time had come and he passed his Elder-ship on to Graeme a week before his passing.

For a long time things were slow in the Vale and Graeme enjoyed his life, he honed his cooking talents, mastered the fields, and even learnt how to make a burrow from his cousin Hobbs. The Vale was prosperous and it’s people happy, war had never travelled to the Vale even though some had tried. Eventually he helped to pioneer the religion of the Pumpkin Lord based from the hidden tunnel he had found in the walls of his burrow. After many disputes with the other Elders he eventually resigned and travelled for a time before he began living with the Nawari, a group of Gypsy traders. There he learnt much about trade and currency, something he was not well versed in from living in a society of community sharing. Using this he made himself a fair amount of minas and began to collect the rarest spices he could find for his pantry as well as jewelled shovels and hoes. This was all lost though when Asulon descended into chaos and he took refuge within the Cloud Temple with only his family heirlooms and what food he had in reserve.

Once the boats took land in the strange lands people now reside in Graeme travelled to Lake Bunga where he spends his time fishing and farming.
