Why is everyone getting mad of a PvP zone? It's like an arena, avoid the damn place and you're good to go.

Edit: This in no way shape or form ruins RP. Everywhere else, it's RP, and one island is for PvP. No one is generally going to be trading there, or you'd be a complete tard, no one is going to be living there(maybe), or you'd be in for it. Avoid the place, and RP will happen as usual. This whole idea gives all those military/mercenary groups a chance to dish it out.

The badlands could be so amazing..

An area for the lowest of the low,

A hiding place for terrorists.

An area for Uruk warrior's to battle to their death's embrace.

Is PvP /Really/ necessary with it?

PVP has always been a part of this server, whether some people want to believe it or not. We even had a badlands similar to this back in Aegis for a little while.

For the "The server doesn't revolve around you," argument:  The server doesn't revolve around anybody. The way I see it, some people want to be able to PVP without typing for half an hour beforehand. Give them an area to do it. If you don't like doing that, then don't go to that area. It even makes RP sense. Why would you want to hold a meeting in the badlands? Travel through them with your children? You wouldn't, and this will make it so that you don't.

It seems as if a few of you just want to get rid of PVP altogether. Why? Like I said, it's been a part of the server since it began. Getting rid of it would probably be the last straw for a sizeable chunk of our player base. You want to force more people to leave?

I like this idea, but I'd like to propose a new idea. Undead and Ascended to be brought back. It made the server so much interesting and fun-having the guard actually do something.

I believe the server is capable of making a new evil, the same would be dull.

Yea but new evils have been suggested many times and never accepted. So I do believe he has a point here and yours is invalid.

How is it invalid? Bringing back an old evil is somewhat bland, and it'd have to take more than them just appearing at our new lands to make it not the same ol'. Many times evils are not accepted due to them not requiring the necessary ideas to complete a full evil. As stated by a staff member as-well, they already have a new evil in mind for 3.0.

I'd like to see the undead brought back, I might even revive the snowballers to combat them.

I would rather we go to the new island, but as I have stated before, why not just have it set up as camp sights with the occasional building for people of importance. Maybe on the middle island we could have five forts that are controlled by each Race, the races generally battle for resources inside this middle island. But the whole No-RP pvp stuff, no freaking way. New players would automatically assume this is now a PVP server and go off on killing sprees.

Any one able to pass our rather vigorous application process will not assume anything as ridiculous as that, proper declaration of the new island and it's rules would further prevent this, as well as possible alerts in game when someone enters the area in question.

It is a well known fact that the entire server would collapse into oblivion and anarchy should people be allowed to PVP.

If you want, feel free to stand around in your text-flooded hardcore RP areas. You'll only be contributing to the eventual decline of LOTC into a lifeless and boring server. Fact is that LOTC needs to be fun again, and a place where you can go on your own or with some mates and experience the possibility of danger around every turn should be encouraged.

I actually feel sorry for the people that oppose this, but I am sure once this is implemented they will be converted to a more laid back and fun person.

But it doesn't make the map dangerous. It just makes one place dangerous. No one is going to be afraid of staying and want to get back in the boats to go to 3.0.
