Is there going to be one final one before the release of Anthos, or is this the last one?

The release of the Antagonist one should be coming out.  But I did it at like 11 pm and stuttered worse then the Mechanics one >.<  If I find someone who has something to say about Anthos that hasn't been discussed I'll be sure to make a video on it.

Here is the transcript for this podcast for anyone interested. So enjoy reading! Again please forgive any errors, but it should be pretty much word for word.

B: Redbaron

S: ShiftNative

A: Annotations on the Youtube video.

B: Hello Lord of the Craft I am here with former head
developer, Native the elf. Today we’ll be explaining Anthos itself and any
features it has to offer you. As some of you may or may not know, he has put a
lot of thought into making Anthos an extremely efficient map for new players
and veterans alike. Say hello Native.

S: Hello, greetings!

B: So to start us off our first question is with a new map
comes a new spawn what can you expect from this maps spawning features and the
Cloud Temple?

S: Well, spawn isn’t in the middle of the map anymore we’ve
moved it to the western shore and players will spawn there only when they first
join the server and haven’t changed their soul stone location. There will also
most likely be a place for new players to get acquainted with plugins and other
rules, there are little areas set out for them to talk to NPC’s or read some
signs.

B: Like, I’m not sure
if any of you have ever played Runescape, but you know the Tutorial Island they
used to have. I’m not sure if you have played it before.

S: No, I haven’t actually.

B: Oh, well it had a big tutorial island and you had to walk
through it and it would show you different game mechanics and all that, would
that be like something you would have?

S: Yeah, it’s kind of like that. There’s like little
platforms set out for people to go to and I’m sure there’ll be signs that’ll
lead you to things you will be learning. So if you kind of already well acquainted
with them you can most likely skip them, but it’ll be on the map and not its
own land mass or anything prior.

B: Will each race have its own designated spawning area? Or will
it all be one jumbled pile?

S: I think eventually once you’ve spawned at the temple
itself, because as a new player, as a new character you’ll have to start at the
temple where you have been returned to your soul stone. So it’s kind of
important to start there, but once you’ve set your soul stone at a racial
capital you’ll definitely spawn there and they’ll probably have little monk temples
at each capital as well.

B: Well moving on in, Asulon there was definitely a lack of
a main road and whoever Aegis players here are watching they must remember the
King’s road and how much RP it brought. Can we expect something like that back
again?

S: Yeah absolutely, having a main road was the leading cause
for the shape of this new map, when I world painted it I had the main road in
mind the whole time and we are definitely going to have one, and there is one.
It goes from north to south and it’s going to be really great just to see
everybody bustling again running down the road and lots of RP.

B: Does this road have a name yet? Or can you not divulge that
information?

S: It does but… Yeah it’s the Anthos Highway. Is the name
and it’s pretty awesome hopefully to encourage highwaymen and all that.

B: Yeah hopefully,
well moving on. The staff seems too often talk about how we are going to try
and preserve this map and so we don’t destroy it and have to move in another
year like in Aegis and Asulon. Do we have different options for gaining
resources, and mining, and all that stuff?

S: Yeah absolutely, what we decided to do is make mines
multi-versed firstly. So that when you step into a mine it teleports you off to
a distant area, it will feel like you are in the same mine because it will be
underground, and you won’t be able to mine up to the surface, but you can walk
back out the mine from the entrance, but the key point of these new mines is
there is going to be a mine for every resource. So you’ll have to travel to get
iron, or gold, or lapis, and the areas of land nearby will become valuable because
they are close to those mines. So there will probably be ten to fifteen different
mines and they are all themed on a resource, so there will be lots of traveling
and adventuring to make sure that you can find these footholds that allow your
guild or your faction to harvest certain bits.

A: These mines will not be accessible until sometime after server
release. Mining will have to be done in the wilds, or within kingdom borders.

B: For these resources can we assume that maybe some kingdoms
like Salvus would maybe get farming monopoly-ish and mining for dwarves, stuff
like that?

S: For farming and all that depending on where you are on
the map you will have resources closer to you and there won’t be, if you are a
human or an orc, or whatever you won’t have access to every resource like you
did before where you could just enter a mine that had gold, lapis, redstone,
everything you could ever need and now with 3.0 you’ll actually have to go and
trade with people who have the land nearby.

B: So more kingdom interaction RP’d?

S: More interaction and more travelling which will be good
because that main road will just be busier and busier.

B: Will there be VIP plots brought back to this and will
they work?

S: I think pretty much what we are going with is no longer
will there be any VIP plots actually, but there are little pockets of land all
around the map that will be free to build upon and based upon what the GM team
has said, they will open up at certain times and they’ll be hidden even, you
might walk onto a free-land plot and it’ll indicate whether or not it’s free to
build on with a region flag and they are all made with polygon regions so that
no longer will the players have to build in these boxy fortresses, they’ll have
twenty sides to them so you can really make organic structures and adhere to
what the land has given you so, I think it’ll be a lot more free to the people
who actually get land, but this new map is a bit smaller so they’ll be more
valuable.

A: These free-land plots between kingdoms will become accessible
further down the line and not immediately after server release.

B: For this map could you divulge what sides of this map the
kingdoms are going to be? Like will the humans be northern? Kind of like in
Aegis?

S: Well, I don’t know if I want to talk too much about that
because I do want people to be surprised.

B: Yeah I got you. For our final question of the day how
will the wilds work will they be on the outer borders like they were
traditionally?

S: This is what I am really excited about, that the wilds is
actually its own continent, so there is a really clear border between if you
are on the mainland or if you’re in the wilds. So now if you travel to the
wilds you know you are in the wilds and you are so far off the mainland, on its
own landmass that it really feels like a totally different atmosphere. It’s
completely lawless and completely free to build on.

B: Like the Badlands?

S: Yeah like the Badlands, I think it’ll be really neat and
I’m pretty sure there are certain resources there so that you know maybe if on
the main land you are having trouble getting gold because maybe the Orcs have a
surplus on the gold and they protect it, you can travel to the wilds and try to
fight for that.

B: Could there be a chance for hidden items there? Like
enchantment books or enchanted swords or something like that?

S: I would hope so, that would definitely be the place for
it, because it is easily the most dangerous or more dangerous than the main
land.

B: Could it be something like the Verge in Aegis?

S: Yeah, I suspect that there will be many a creature crawling
all over that place, so you know it will be for the tough and the hardy.

B: For all of you who don’t know what the Verge was in
Aegis, it was the little portal by the Cloud Temple where you could go into it
and it would take you to a new area kind of, like there would be a spider
temple and there would just be mobs everywhere. It was crazy.

S: Yeah, it was mayhem. Good mayhem.

B: That’s all for the questions that I have compiled up for
you, do you have anything else that you would like to add?

S: Only that I hope that everyone uses this opportunity on
this new map and all the new features to the fullest extent, and remember that
we are all here for theater and co-operative role play working together to
create a story and you can’t exactly write a story with a couple hundred people
when everybody is butting heads, so just remember that and have fun.

B: That’s all for here today, you guys thank you for
watching. Remember to like Facebook and follow us on Twitter for more
information about this. Say goodbye Native.

S: See Ya!

If there is interest I can do these for any future podcasts/informational videos. So just let me know if you want to keep seeing them!
