Origins of your birth, and your place of living: I was born in Haelun'or, although many have forgotten such a young face. I left at the age of twelve, with my mother and father, to pursue a simple life. I personally travelled the land as soon as I came of age, and spent many years travelling.  I have yet to actually live in one place.

How can you declare you are Mali'thill? : As far as I can trace back along my family tree, all have been high elves. I understand that some are curious about how my skin is ever so slightly Darker than most, but I can tell you that is due to days in the sun.

Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? : I love our city. In my time there in Elysium and Kalos I found myself growing to care for the people I call friends.

What is your personal vision for our blessed race? : I wish to be honest on this paper. So I will do nothing less. I believe in most of what the fine people of our city have brought me to know, but I find with our knowledge we have found a way to become cynical.

I say cynical, and understand it is not a negative. The world needs more cynics, people to keep the ignorant, happy people alive, but I would rather be Ignorant and happy than a man of few feelings. The world is a beautiful place, and I feel that if everyone was to think to much  and feel too little, there would be no reason in being the finest architects, scholars, and people the nations have seen.

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you?: I have spent many a night considering "maehr'sae hiylun'ehya" and I can honestly say I have no answers. I have thought more than once that the words are the meaning. To develop knowledge and health is in the words. I could guess that it simply means 'why wage war when we could help those who need it", but I must admit such conjecture is futile.

What Elven phrase do you particularly take to heart? Please explain why: I have always been fond of Ikru. I have been called one more than once, but it has yet to hurt me. It just reminds me of my ignorance, and that I should work somewhat to the point where I must never hear it again.

What is the subject of the first book you may submit to the college?: I have always been fond of art and poetry, so perhaps I would write something somewhat fictitious.  If such a grand library would accept  tales of such allure.

*The writing is neat and cursive.* I was born in a small farm nestled among the cherry trees of the valley that my parents had made their home. They had chosen this place because they had grown tired of the childish and insignificant humans that they were constantly forced to interact with. They withdrew from society, feeling that they were much better off raising me without the taint of the other races to create flaws within my being. Currently, I have no place of residence, but rather I wander. I'm aware how unpleasant the idea of having to interact so commonly with the other races is, but because of it I have found myself with an unhealthy tolerance for their stupidity... Which I seek to be rid of through the presence of more intelligent beings, so that I may remember what it is like to be among the blessed once more. It is worth noting that I would willingly relinquish my associations with the other races in order to be accepted into the walls of your cihi.

I search for a place where I may study my art of Alchemy in peace, not surrounded by the foolish squabbles of the lesser races.  I seek a place of intellectuals, a place governed by logic... A place where my research would be encouraged, where the people understand that risk is a necessity for advancement. Your cihi is exactly what I seek.

What is your personal vision for our blessed race?

I wish simply for us to lead this world into a new era of peace, order, and logic, where the other races regard us with the respect we deserve.

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you?

Translated, it means Progress and Health.  It is the Mali'Aheral 'code' or 'creed'. It can be taken as a guideline for how a member of our race should live their life; striving for intellectual progress, and ensuring the health of our race by not tainting their bloodline... My personal use of the phrase is most often as, of course, a blessing.

Furthermore, if I am to give this saying a personal meaning as you request... I would say that, to me, maehr'sae hiylun'ehya is a promise on behalf of those who speak it. To speak those words is to uphold the fundamental aspects of our society, it is to pledge oneself to our purity, and to our mistresses of logic and reason.

To me, any impure mali'aheral or lesser race that dare speak these words is only furthering their own taint by way of stupidity and lack of understanding... and if not that, then in the way of blasphemy to our mistresses.

The importance of a phrase is derived from its' meaning, not from the language it is written in. Furthermore, I am unfortunately not exceedingly familiar with the language of our race, as my parents had directed me towards Alchemy and nothing else at a very young age, and that has kept through until now... I've simply had no time to learn our great language in-depth. If, however, your great cihi requires it, I shall learn it.

Such a sight is unworthy of a reaction, and such a Mali'aheral is unworthy of being recognized as a member of our race. I would continue on without giving it a second thought, since he is clearly not worth it. Admittedly, I have been known to travel with humans and lesser Mali, but for one of us to travel with those brutish creatures we mistakenly consider to be 'one of the other races'... Is despicable.

After having scanned the contents, he gracefully rolls the parchment into a scroll and tucks it into his inner robe pocket. 

 

Caelria arrives at a secluded desk, he looks out the window briefly, it seems to have been raining almost constantly in the Silver City these past months. He takes a few moments to analize how the water trickles down the window, tracing the miniscule differences in the air with his forefinger.

 

After several minutes of ruminating on the composition of rainwater and its interaction with window-panes, he reaches into his satchel, retreiving his personal quill and ink. He takes a while performing the ritualistic process of dipping his quill correctly, without a single drop spilled, and centering the expensive jar of ink so that the label is clearly visible.

Origins of your birth, and your place of living: The orgins of my birth are my mother and father, obviously, you would think such forms would be less nonsensical. My father was born Luin, he worked in the libraries of old; both writing and reading. My mother was born Nienna, she was a skilled scientist and tailor, though she preferred the first profession to the second. From what they told me, they met researching bone composition and its differences between the three Mali subtypes over tea. Again, I quite obviously lived with my parents.

How can you declare you are Mali'thill? Quite easily, matter of fact I just declared it in the empty library, which does not seem to argue my point. Though I sense this question has a more raw meaning, meant to be picked up on by a sensing mind rather than a thinking one, highly illogical for a form created to cater to a race thats very cultural lifeblood is logic. I can "declare" that I am Mali'thill by my looks, I bear the traits that run with posessing purity, and my bloodline has not deviated from the laws that were set to preserve our great race. To suggest that I must prove such a thing is nearly insulting.

Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? The same reason as many, I would presume. I wish to be among people who share my intelligence and purity, common rabble annoys me greatly, and their feeble minds incapability to meet my standards or brew an enjoyable cup of tea were upsetting to me.

What is your personal vision for our blessed race? My personal vision? Assuming that I cannot lift the curse of Iblees I like to envision a capital of knowledge and wisdom, posessing the few rational individuals remaining in this irrational world, where pure brothers and sisters mingle eloquently and politely, free to persue our own paths and indulgences.

Maehr'sae, the persuit of knowledge, means the betterment of ones' self through academics and other mental or physical endeavors. Hiylun'ehya, the posession of health, means the constant vigilance against the curse of Iblees and the preservation of our race.

It is a building block of our cultural structure, and a saying studied with vigilance by all High Elven students. If one were to perform a physical examination, one would find that I hold no taint or disability. Origins of your birth, and your place of living: Malinor,I never really new my parents since they were either out in a important job, or in another land, all that I could say about them was that they had their backs turned on all elven cultures but had pure elven blood from both of my families sides.I now lives in the forest near the great crossing.

How can you declare you are Mali'thill?

My ancestors had a  somewhat rude way of talking to halflings and specially non-elves. This attitude stuck on to me, turning away on all other races other than pure blooded elves, My (RP) Grand father always told me that if I was to marry a non-Pure breed elf He was to take my heritage away from me, and i were to marry a non-elf he was to kill me! This always made me laugh until i realized that he was serious about it. I am pure elf and my blood line will stay pure no matter what.

I wish to be at the place where I fit in most, with my own kind, and also a place to do some of my... research about alchemy. It seemed to be a nice peaceful place although full of politics, I find it quite interesting , and would like to continue studying the behaviors of "high elves".

How can you declare you are Mali'thill: Aside from my appearance being that of pure Mali'aheral, I have as sister that can also verify my being Mali'aheral.

 

Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? Because I believe that the place of a Mali'aheral is among his people. If a Mali'aheral is not with his people helping them advance, I ask, what is the point?

 

What is your personal vision for our blessed race? We are the blessed race, the wisest, the strongest, and the most reasonable. We are productive and I see our race continuing to grow and advance in the future.

 

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you? It is the very phrase the defines our people, at least that is my belief. It translates to progress and health which are, to me anyways, two of the most important things in life. This is a phrase that I truly value.

 

What Elven phrases do you particularly take to heart? Please explain why: Besides maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, a phrase that I take to heart would be: "Lar lenti". It is a phrase I heard quite some time ago, it translates into "steadfast growth". I believe this goes hand in hand with progress, for it means the steady growth of a people.

 

What is the subject of the first book you may submit to the college? It is to be a book on the subject of flora and their properties, whether it be medicinal properties or otherwise.

 

What would be your reaction if you ever saw a human, orc and unknown Mali'aheral travel the Anthos Highway together? My reaction would depend on the circumstances, I would not be so hasty to form and judgments. If the Mali'aheral seemed to be content, I would be disgusted that I laid eyes on such an impure disgrace. However if the Mali'aheral seemed to be in pain, I would rush to get help from other Mali'aheral.

 

Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the Mali'aheral? I have recently taken an interest in the study of flora and alchemy, so if a position of that nature would arise I would be quite content if I was told of the position.
