Ideas For Halflings - At The Moment

[All OOC]

As of late many people trying to start off a Hobbit (or creating a temp character) have come and gone for some reasons. I just want to add this here so the Elders or anybody could fix up, just some opinionsI have.

1- Halfling aren't on now a days. I head to Lenfarthing and get on Richard and the place is empty, and if not usually only one or two are on. This may be my own fault, I may just be coming at a time when others are not on due to timezones, what do I know? Either way, most new Halflings cannot get perms, and just leave out of lack of ability. Give some other Halflings that can be trusted Perms to give new ones. No, don't just give them out willy-nilly, that's bad, but the ypunger members of the community don't have the idea to PM elders or Benny (Benny has perms, I believe)

2- We need to have more festivals. I was not able to be on during Lenfest, but it seemed like it attracted people. I've asked around and I've heard mixed opinions about it, saying it's nothing but yelling and firework spams, but I've also heard it was fun enough to come. Can we have a schedule for festivals? Have something along the lines of Lenfest every other week or so? Or once a month? Halflings are known for their festivals, why not have them many and much?

3- Encourage new Hobbits to be different. Although change is a tricky thing and one not liked among Halflings, that doesn't mean you can't have a special type of Halfling. You can be different than a farmer, as long as they don't go as far as being a uber-badass magic wielding swordsman demigod. A lot of the new ones take being normal so extreme we have no interests and we might as well all have one personality and different faces.

If any body wants to add to this and discuss, feel free. Just something I thought would be good to help out the halflings for the moment.

Edit: thanks for changing title tigergamer :P

Yeah I've been active for the most part during the week. And nobody is on at all. Even then there are a few active halflings that are active that don't live in Lenfarthing. I think we need either more active people to be able to give perms or start encouraging new players to make hobbits.

There's enough players who want to become hobbits, simply not enough to keep them. When I started off, I roleplayed with Super, TMdeath, Sorsby, Cmack, and everyone else from top to bottom for about a week. You simply cannot do that now, so we just need something to keep people here and happy :/

I do think we need some sort of celebration, and also the wedding that's coming up. I think we should do something exciting for it.

Just thought i'd point out, it says "Havings" instead of "Halflings" in your title :3

I do have a question, though....

IG, is it acceptable to ICly call yourself a Hobbit, or is this frowned upon? (Frowned upon OOCly)

The opinion of a four-ish month old player:

When I joined te server, I only had the option of one of the four main races and their subs.

It was only till much later that I found that I could play as a Kharajyr or a Halfling. So my opinion is that if players get the option, their will be a bucket load more of these minor races.

Oh my, it does say havings!

Fixing that now.

And Hobbits are the same thing as Halflings. Hobbit is used more in LOTR books but Halfling is also used to name a Halfling. They are basically the same thing.

As for #1, I think it's important to remember that everyone has personal lives. We can always work hard to continue to be one of the most fun races, which in turn might attract new members, and I think that's the best way to do it. Keep to our traditions, and that'll keep it fun. :)

About #2, that's an excellent idea. We'd be open to ideas on festivals any time!

And for #3, well, I guess that's just up to the players.

This post... I agree! I mean, having a lack of halflings has been a problem since always! Sometimes there's a huge increase, but after that, a gigantic decline. Why this is, I'll never know! But recruiting them might be a good idea! Maybe hand out maps of Lenfarthing to non-halflings that you trust IC and with a little OOC encouragement maybe JUST MAYBE they'll create a little hobbit of their own! :) Oooo, and more festivals would be nice! I actually think it'd be interesting if there were Halfling Holidays just so we can celebrate together~ And as for making characters different... It's true! The average farmer can get a bit plain sometimes if you don't give them enough quirks! Halflings should feel free to step out of the box as diversity isn't necessarily shunned as long as it's not completely against the lore and/ or laws!

Dat is all! :P *rolls away*

I agree, I Myself play my halfling religiously and am very active. but i have yet to meet one person who can give me perms... Also, since there is no halflings to RP with, I found myself going out of the lore often, (spending to much time with the bigguns T.T). Also, I've slayn a giant spider and a troll that were threatening Lenfarthing, and there's no one to brag to D:

I know how you feel Static. I often find myself just wondering around Anthos because no one is around or just farm.

We need this sorted asap, no one to give perms is getting rough. No way to farm, so i'm constantly starving T.T

Edit: Wellby and Droppi should just throw a giant party, everyone but the mean 'umies are invited

double edit: Orcs are also a no

I feel like Bango's way too vanilla and I've been struggling to get into character. I'm going to drastically overhaul my skin and focus on a few distinctions. Hope no one minds, I've only been around for a few days now, so hopefully it's not a huge disruption. It's hard going from a straight up 200-year-old orc that I played for a year straight to a jolly little farmer.
