The Silent Watcher

In the middle of the night a lone hooded figure moves from town to town, posting the same letter to many. It is found in human, elven, dwarven and hobbit towns. This person has no quarrels with anyone as they place the notes. The staff they carry is the only recognition they would get from someone watching. As the person places the note, they smile. Pale hands touching the parchment before walking away. The writing is elegant, obviously professional.

To all who will listen, and any who can read.

I traveled many times to your wonderful cities, many times to others. I listen to the words said by many. The Roses, The elves, the travelers I meet on the road. The dark, the cold, the happy and the sad. I listen to the injustice and the justice. I ask that many of you cease what you are doing and look within before trying to control others. This letter, although written for me, holds what I hold dear. Take a moment to travel, leave behind your lives and visit other nations and see them for what they are, nations. Not enemies, not filth. I see not only the bad in each nation but also the good.

To the Roses, although I hear many stories of anger and fear, I know personally how your nature really is. Firsthand have I met with Roses, not only with opposition, but also kindness. They do what they can to protect, even if they are biased. I have heard rumors of an act that I wish they would share to show they are not all as cruel as they are made out to be.

To the Elves. Take the pride you guys have and quell it. I have traveled to Malinor on several occasions. Many times fully ignored, which is fine by me. I have no quarrels with the elves, but I notice how some of you are weary when a human walks into your city. How depressed your citizens are. Its time to let the citizens choose how they want to be. Things can change for the better, or the worse, depending on how you choose to be.

To the Dwarves. I have yet to truly wander into your grand city. I fear I may end up hurting myself. From what I have heard from other dwarves and travelers, I can tell your pride and loyalties are strong. All creatures make mistakes, from Humans to Orcs. I know you are honorable and strong. I believe maybe the ties that once were lost should be restrengthened.

To the Hobbits. Again, I have yet to find your town. I hear your little feet running by, the joy and fear you guys share. I wish to come and enjoy your bounty one of these Elven Days. I have nothing I can say to show something in which you can improve on. Maybe if you see a weary traveler, offer them a place to stop and eat. I have passed by many in too much of a hurry to even say hello.

To the travelers of Anthos. Hello and good day. Help each other out. See the sights. It gets quite walking the land when no one greets you. Be happy and smile. The bandits are not as bad out here as you think. I have only run into one set in the years I have walked. I was fortunate enough to have help. Do not be afraid to help out someone in need. Please, you may end up saving a life.

With this letter, I hope Anthos can become more friendly, more like what its inhabitants wish it to be. Put aside your grief with each other. Take it from a wandering soul to see that differences are really only skin deep. The honor, the pride, and the strength each nation has should show us what our nations are capable of as a whole. If I should ever meet you on the road, I will be willing to say "Hello how are you?" and will always part with a "Safe travels". Never underestimate the words of a traveler, nor the appearance of one either, there may be more than meets the eye.

Farewell citizens of Anthos, sons and daughters of the four brothers. We are all one family, one land. Do not let us fall further apart.

-The Blind Wanderer-

The hood falls back to reveal golden hair and bandaged eyes. Slowly the woman smiles as she places the last pin in her last parchment. "I hope they will learn from this. No one should ever feel alone and unwanted." she says to herself. "Nor should they let the land fall to ruin over ridiculous things." She turns, her staff tapping the ground as she continues her wanderings. She smiles softly to herself as she continues looking for a place she can call her home.

Amaor walks along the path within the forest, and wanders into a small town. She notices a note pinned to a nearby tree and reads over it, smiling a bit.

It's good to know someone cares for all of the nations. She thinks to herself as she peels off the note from the tree, beginning to fold it up and keep it. She then starts unfolding it, thinking better of it.

I should keep it out, more people will see it. She pinns it back to the tree, walking away with a smile on her face,

-Merek walks through the gates of Salvus, looking upon the homes and buildings as he makes his way down the street. His clothes are an old uniform covered in dirt and his hair is long and dirty. He walks to the note, reading its contents intensely. His face seems troubled, moved by its words.-

"I must meet this person..."

The woman soon returns to each area, her hands shaking as she places a new note up. Her hood falling back to reveal the long golden locks. The bandages that cover her eyes have blackened and her blood stains her clothes.

To all who can read.

I fear my travels must stop. I have been to each corner of the lands and have heard every rumor. I fear for my own safety as well as the safety of my fellow travelers. The tension in the land causes all to try to harm each other. Elves are becoming more brazen, attacking those a threat, while the rose seem more than willing to fight and harm them. The roads have changed and the dangers are becoming all to real. I will travel as far from this land as I can, to try and save my own life.

Thank you again to those who have taken the time to help me in my travels.

You have my blessing.

She turns from the boards and heads off, placing them only in the human and elven lands. She turns and walks away, hoping this would be the last time she saw this kind of pain. A small trail of blood leads towards the Anthos crossroads before vanishing.
