I happened to stumble upon the ruins, and I made conversation with one of the Delvers. I am fascinated by this group of friends and adventurers, and wish to join. I've always liked knowledge, and I admire the Delvers' pursuit of it.

I would say that a delve is an organized event in which a group goes outside their usual home to explore, go on adventures, secure artifacts, or observe unusual phenomena. 
 
 
If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do?

 

It would, upon verbal command, summon any type of pastry or baked good from the void, after which anyone could eat it. After the pastry was returned to the void, the consumer's stomach would empty, and the process could be repeated.

The Delvers and those who follow the Dark Lord had been in a few altercations before, but nothing so serious as the most recent mishap. War had been threatened upon the followers of the Dark Lord, war between the Delvers and the Cultists.

 

The followers of the Dark Lord, however, were very forgiving. They were not war-mongerers, like those who lived in the Arcane Fortress. In fact, they even left a warning at the door of the Keep. Perhaps the 'wise' Delvers would heed to this warning, painted by blood and stained into the grass.

A delve to me is...well, to me it means an adventure. But there's more to it than just that. It's also a quest to find knowledge that has been lost or some...amazing artifact. Of course, it won't always be life changing or that amazing. But, what it usually consists of is a small party basically going on an exploration, in search of something.
