Alan 1815 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Hello Anthos :) Good news! As many people may have realized, there is a lot of confusion over time, dates, etc., and those that do use the official calendar may find it rather awkward, due to the weird times. Recently, the LM team has decided to do some work in overhauling the calendar system so that it's easier to judge time and there's less debate and confusion. Better news! I've already spoken with Telanir and he's completely willing to code such a calendar into a date plugin! Of course, before he may begin we need to work out the details of the calendar, and that is where you all come in! We have come up with a few options for how the time will be arranged. There's a poll so that you all may vote on what you believe works best, so without further adieu, here are the options, which are named according to the IC year to IRL year ratio (IE, 26 IC years to 1 IRL year is named the 26 Year System). Option 1: 30.4 Year System / Current System (8 month calendar)- 1 hour IRL = 1 day IG (note: this is the same for all systems) 36 hours IRL (1.5 days) = 1 month IG 12 days IRL = 1 year IG (8 months) 1 year IRL = 30.4 years IG Option 2: 30.4 Year System (Changed to 12 month calendar)- 1 hour IRL = 1 day IG 24 hours IRL (1 day) = 1 month IG 12 days IRL = 1 year IG (12 months) 1 year IRL = 30.4 years IG Option 3: 26 Year System (14 month calendar)- 1 hour IRL = 1 day IG 24 hours IRL (1 day) = 1 month IG 2 weeks IRL = 1 year IG (14 months) 1 year IRL = 26 years IG Option 4: 52 Year System (7 month calendar)- 1 hour IRL = 1 day IG 24 hours IRL (1 day) = 1 month IG 1 week IRL = 1 year IG (7 months) 1 year IRL = 52 years IG Option 5: Other Think you have a better system? Suggest it in a reply! Note: Details such as month names will be decided on later.
Lago 2572 Share Posted May 12, 2013 3 and 4 are the best in my opinion. They're easy to keep track of. 4: One Month = One IRL Day One Year = One IRL week. Or, if that's too fast, 3: One Month = One IRL Day One Year = Two IRL weeks. I'm going for three.
SpiritSpectre 134 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I strongly suggest reading the information for each option before voting.
Wobbajack 119 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I think Option 3 is the best bet. Seems fairly simple to remember and makes sense. Ehhh...on second thought Option 4 is good too. No decimals, not too many months, and is fairly simple. 4. I like 4.
Kardel 1054 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Omg, i was just about to post my idea about this. . . . In my system a day is 15 minutes, a yer 4 days, and so on
cruzazul 2815 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I'd like to go with option three. I feel like that's the right speed to age and in my opinion one week equalling a year is too fast.
Silevon 497 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Seven month calender would be so much easier to track, let's go with that. You must also take IG years and IRL year into consideration. With number three, that's 52 years. I think that's an extremely good aging system. With the option 3 which a lot of people are choosing, it'll take forever to get old. Go with four. Miquill 188 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Well it has always been a week for a year as far as I'm concerned, no matter what you do, I'm not thinking otherwise. Change all you want but in my head it is always 1 week.
Shadeleaf 1022 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Personally, I have already been aging Arzzy every 12 days, so #2 for me~
Bashar al-Assad 120 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Option 4 is the easiest to track and requires very little brainpower.
Pato 82 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I know I'm alone when I say I'd appreciate a 12 year system. Alas, that would never happen. Number 3 seems fair. Not everyone can play every day, and well, it makes little sense if months and months go by missing a few days IG. *shrug*
Princeton 396 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Personally, I'm a big fan of option four. I believe it's the most simple option and the easiest one to remember.
Bakerismaxamis 122 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I have looked over the choices and I'm casting my vote on Option three.
Lyuin 65 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I like the idea of the shorter calender. Sounds weird but Huwel's been around since Aegis. Yet if you aged him from there he only would have aged a tiny bit even though in my opinion, we shouldn't be jumping land to land every 30 years or so. It should be like every 4 generations. Otherwise we'd constantly be preparing boats or defenses for the next apocalypse.
SpiritSpectre 134 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Personal Opinion: Even though Option 4 is easy to track, its also way to fast. I like option 3, since I've always had 1 character at a time and I like them to live enough.
