From the Dreadfort, dozens of messenger birds take flight, making their way to the various keeps and holds of the Lords and Ladies of the Holy Oren Empire, all bearing the Flayed Man of Blackmont.

To the Rightful Lords and Ladies of the Holy Oren Empire,

Let it be known that from this day forth, as decided upon by his Lordship Augustus Blackmont, Master of the Dreadfort; the title of King of Hanseti, currently held by Mirtok DeNurem, Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order is hereby contested.

Given the inefficiency of Mirtok Denurem in defending this Empire's borders to his full capacity, his failure to prioritize his duties to the Emperor, and his aggression and sedition in regards to his fellow nobles, Lord Blackmont makes it known that he intends to seize the throne of Castle Greywynn and the title of King of Hanseti, so as to better serve the nation.

The DeNurem line will be wiped clean, the Teutonic Order reestablished or destroyed, and Hanseti reformed under a new leader.

Those Lords and Ladies that support  this claim are requested to make it publicly known and thereby refuse to acknowledge Mirtok DeNurem as the true  King of Hanseti, the title instead rightfully belonging to Augustus Blackmont.

Pertinax writes from his room in the Palace, his hand writing thick with ink. When done he stands up and calls for the family courier. "Have this letter sent to the Dreadfort, it is for Lord Blackmont."

"Uncle August,

I support your claim to the throne, seeing as I have had my own problems with the Kingdom. Best of luck to you and your men.

Yours sincerely,

                  Pertinax Horen"

Upon hearing word of Lord August's claim from his fellow Sariants, Andrew Kirvel thinks to himself:

"Seeing how the so-called "Lord August" got a sword handed up his arse in the last battle, he better cease this demand or else he may cause every sane person in our dear  Empire to drop dead of laughter."

A sariant overhears the mention that Lord Blackmont would be more suitable to guard the North and ill mention towards DeNurem and guffaws in the audience of many that he entertains after having beheaded once again another Blood Eagle. He barks forth for his companion to begin scripting and sending forth his immediate reaction.

"Sum'***** Lord Blackmont be grovelin' for support like a bereft son reaching out for his forlorn mother! He dun' know what he mutters, perhaps because it probably comes from the cleaved head itself that remains with the LordSlayer Victor Venator! What does he mean inefficient? Is inefficiency defined by being capable of threshing swords against the backbones of these ill-mannered petty bandits? Lord be the witness, the Blackmonts got their arses kicked and whipped in a dervish of sword and board! What does he mean incapable of guarding the North, when boar-men and giants are left outside to decompose with success after success at thwarting all that tries to enter the North Gate? So much are we incapable that we drove the Northern mutants to have to seek another route into the mainland through Mali-land! Sum'***** lies through his teeth and it whistles beautifully after a Sariant dun' shoved their blade through his mouth!

"They think they can take the kingdom." Meryn chuckles "We saw what happended last time."

*Smirks widely once reading the letter, he quietly says to himself as he leans back putting his hands behead his head relaxing*  "Sadly they must think they have skilled men" *Begins to laugh as it slowly falls silent to a smirk*

Lancel reads over the letter curiously, eyeing over each word carefully as his fingers play with the thick edges of the paper, once he finishes he sets the parchment down onto the table with a sigh.  Before he laughs a little at a certain line.

"Oh dear August.. 'and his aggression and sedition in regards to his fellow nobles'."  Lancel smiles again at that, scratching his beard as he leans back on his chair and yawns before speaking again

"You always were one for hypocrisy.  Let us pray the Tuetons win this battle.  Mirtok isn't a complete **** leader who can't control his men.  A Kingdom run by bandits who work on their own accord...."  Lancel shakes his head in disgust after the thought, and returns to his other affairs.

Jonathan Black tilts his head.

"Huh. Where does it say in Imperial Law that you can claim a Kingdom simply by saying that its current holder is bad at their job? Very interesting, considering the Emperor's told me that none have a claim on the Kingdom of Hanseti. I wonder what he'll think of this. Very interesting threats, as well, considering that we've caught Blackmonts trying to steal cauldrons and anvils to smelt down into iron as they probably have just about none after -that- battle..." He shakes his head, brushing the petty letter away to attend to more important matters.

Sabri overhears the local nobility mocking the claim and chastising Augustus. He turns to his companions. "Blackmont should have brought his allies in that last battle. They will see. Mark my words; These pathetic nobles, these penniless paupers, these landless knaves will flock under his guise and find nothing but sharpened stakes."

Silus takes the note without much emotion.

"More quarrels, more fights, more claims, more blood. Heh. Not a surprise..."

"What in mercy's name is this? Hochmeister Mirtok has failed to 'prioritize his duties to the Emperor'? This claim coming from the man who couldn't be seen trying to help the Emperor, current or prior, with any of the multiple wars we've fought recently? That just about speaks for itself now doesn't it?"

Ari Horen folds a copy of the letter and leaves it for her Husband, going back to her knitting.

"Aye, I wait for them to come knocking at The Dreadfort, there sadistic lust for there own demise will be answered."

"There overconfidence they've determined from a single line battle will make the slaughter all the more ripe."
