The Issue From An Ex-Staff's Pov

If someone who hadn't left the server in such a way, (which I may add was as said, incredibly over dramatized) would Gaius' points be more valid? For everyone claiming hypocrisy in what Gaius has said, perhaps he feels regret and is offering a suggestion as an act of final amends before he departs, this does not make his points any less valid. The fact that the staff continues to ignore the points of this post and veils it behind "Gaius left on a bad note - all points are invalid" just shows the general attitude of many staff members on this server. Instead of most staff putting in the effort, they'd prefer to demonize Gaius and not actually work on fixing anything, this is in direct reference to you, Rhia. Your post in response to Gaius shows that you are no more capable of being constructive to this community than he was in his leaving, and mark, this post will be deleted because I'm calling you out directly. God forbid anyone call out the bureaucracy and red tape that LotC has become.

Since I'm not gunna give my opinion on either or side I'm just going to give my opinion about the whole conversation!

Lolz, socialism ideology in a video game! Gm responsibilities consist of making sure things are working, answering people's questions, and so on. It is up to the person to keep drama out but that will -always- be impossible and will just lead to more "Lets all get along" arguments. Some people don't like being classified as lying arseholes so they will say things out of place or leave (not classifying anyone as of such, that was an example). Those who are ingame playing as destructive, murderous monsters will cause drama no matter what. Any murderer, thief, ect... will cause drama and you can't completely stop it. It is the same on GM levels who manage the server.

So everyone in short stop. There are those who try to arise to greatness (goodness) and those who will no matter what be that lowlife who just likes trolling/causing chaos and no socialist ideology of "Lets all get along" will fix that. Instead, it will stop those who actually know stuff and know what they are doing from saying "No, F*ck you" to the people who are just wandering around blindly or who don't know what they are doing (again, not acusing anyone).

I'm not trying to be an ass or someone who looks down upon things. I'm just trying to point out some stuff. Things people don't like are truth, bluntness, and coarseness. Truth can hurt by saying someone is a downright thiefing, lying shithead who only cares about their family and themselves, not caring that someone else may be hurt/killed in the process. Things like that that are -true- cause people to get angry or start crying (literally) while maybe getting violent.

In fact though, why am I responding to a drama thread? LOLZ! Got me an orc clan to run! (though I am probably passing it on as I never wanted to lead it)

Having read Gaius' post and skimmed through the seven pages of banter directed in every which direction, it may be constructive for an Admin to lock this thread, so that the heat can cool down... No matter whether you, Gaius, have asked for it to remain open.

I have a feeling that after 7 pages of posts, I feel this thread has exhausted all of its points. It's not necessary to keep it going, let us leave the drama that happened a few days ago behind. This isn't to say of course that we are to ignore these points.

Beyond this time it seems people don't have much new or worthwhile to say, the points Gaius listed have been spoken elsewhere too, but I guess it's nice to have them gathered in one place. With this said, this thread will be locked soon.

Before It's locked I should point out that his points aren't actually invalid.  But those of you defending him just simply remind me of those who tried to get Indhelwyn unbanned after she'd clearly broke a rule and knew what she was doing.  So yes I take the feedback posted, but I also acknowlege that at the end of the day a serious thing occurred.  (Let's for a moment ignore what he did.  Yes, it was just minas.)

1-GM reportedly abuses powers to do something isn't supposed to do

2-GM (who has a great reputation) claims to be hacked, and denies involvement

3-Friends of GM go through great lengths to defend him.

4-GM comes out saying that he lied about it and it was all a ruse conjured up to tell a story.

It's laughable to defend this.  It's not justifiable, and while those of you defending him may just immediately trust him again, but really, if you betray my trust (and in the real world, this applies to most other adults, take notes kids), it takes a while to build it back.

There is no need to lock this, it is also requested this not be locked.

Just because it's requested this isn't locked means nothing. For 7 pages, maybe 8, it wasn't locked. People commented, and really the debate/argument got nowhere.

I trusted Gaius, he broke rules, and he's gone now.

His points are valid and I hope they are considered by the staff teams.

Even that, really has nothing contributing. Unless an admin plans on posting, which I doubt, there is no need to keep the thread open. And even then, admins can bypass the lock. I hope to see this thread locked soon and died down soon. It's actually bringing nothing but both sides bickering at each other.

Either way, I'm sorry to see you go Gaius, the Antags shall miss you. Hope you enjoy your future, and farewell :ujelly:
