((While I know how to render a chessboard in an MC book, playing via aviary eats books like a monster. How are you intending to do it? Just emoting moves with a chessboard next to the keyboard, Skype's chess function, how are you intending to do it?))

((It shall be done via a google document picture, and if possible while the two contestants are logged in an roleplaying this.))

PTAH, YOU DON'T NEED TO USE A HUGE GOOGLE DOC, JUST USE THIS:

Is there perhaps a free online chess service we could use? Have people rp in lotc at a table but have the 3rd party chess going on in another window

Freya's site gives ten minutes to each player. I would think this would make the tournament run much more faster, therefore you could get through however many contestants in no time.

Hex's site is a bit more 'shiny' and has the option to play without a time limit. However you can add a time limit in.

I would suggest using one of the two, they seem the best option.

((I was playing on Freya's site practicing with a friend and while it has by default 10 minutes per person, there is an option when making the game to have I believe 1 minute, 5 minute, 10 minute, or no time limit. My personal preference is no time limit as I feel it just makes games just end. I prefer to play to the bloody end.

A perk to Hex's site that I've seen. There is an interval bonus. Say it's set to eight seconds, and you make your turn in six seconds. You then get an additional two seconds to your time limit.

I think that is the best option. It keep players on their toes and if a player takes too long to decide on a route, they are penalized through time. It makes games themselves much less of a hassle.
