I wrote this for my Bio a while ago. Not expecting this to be a winning entry, as it was written for a different purpose, but might as well get the competition going as it seems like it may be fun to read.

I awoke in a strange place. No memories. No idea how I came to be there. Slowly, they came back to me. Not memories so much as emotions, glimpses into the past. Fear. Betrayal. Anger.

I stumbled through the world, ambling like a drunkard through the city streets. As I journeyed, I continued to regain my senses, but the memories still eluded me.

None of the places I visited felt right to me. I eventually stumbled upon the gates to Kal'Urguan, and here, the glimpses of emotions buffeted my psyche with a renewed ferocity. Eventually the anger swelled up so great that it pushed all the others out of my thoughts, leaving nothing but a burning desire to smash through the gates and destroy something...someone... inside. The gates would not budge, and my cries for entry fell upon deaf ears or the empty hallways within. Confused by an insatiable rage, I felt the pull of the northern winds guide me towards the mountains to the northeast.

Climbing through the snow to the highest peak I could find, I spotted a mountain range of unsurpassed beauty. Quickly I flew across the snow covered rocks, through the pines, to the foot of this range. Clambering over rocks and through the brush, I reached the pinnacle... And the rage stopped. The fear subsided. All the memories were replaced with the smell of the earth, the beauty of the mountains with their hidden lake down below. This was my home. This was the home of the Dwarves like me. This was the Earth. This was Kal'Domhain.

This is just a short prologue i wrote for my character a while ago, i never thought i'd use it but, hey, this competition popped up.

Diary of the Frost Witch

Prologue.

In the frozen reaches of the far North, a lone figure stands atop a battlement, seemingly oblivious to the biting winds that leech at the castle, biting like a beast at the lava-scorched stones.

Everyone in the castle felt the chill of the blizzard, and knew that while it wasn’t the worst one the town of Snowy Fields had ever endured, there was something out in the biting chill of that howling storm that wasn’t quite... natural.

This is why the lone figure stands on her seemingly eternal vigilance. You’d think she was a frozen statue by now – standing alone in the screaming winds that pierces any flesh it encounters – whether it may be alive, or very much the opposite – if not for the brief steam of hot breath that escaped from her mouth, only to be whipped away from her like a blanket from a newborn child.

However, the woman, wreathed in her sky-blue robe, didn’t seem to be bothered by the storm.

This wasn’t the reason for the frown upon her face.

She suddenly shuddered, as if awakening from a deep slumber, displacing a thousand tiny icicles that had formed upon her hair and robe. They fell to the floor, shattering with the sound of a choir of tinkling bells.

A deep voice suddenly sounds behind her, making her jump ever so slightly.

"Milady, you should come inside. A few undead ain't worth freezin' ya'self over."

The lady turns, and looks at the owner of the compassionate voice. A guard stands, in his once-gleaming armour, now rimed with the frost of a long guard shift.

Moving the joints of his armour to prevent them freezing, he looks around uncomfortably, his distaste for the howling blizzard clear on his rugged face.

"Your care is most kind, Eze'kiel, but you know the blizzard doesnt really bother me. I'll stay out here, and keep watch for any undead."

The guard,leaning on one elbow against the stone battlements,cracks a small grin, and intones;

"Rather you than me lady, i'd rather be inside warmin' me frozen toes than freezing me arse off in this weather."

He shudders, and turns, tramping down the battlements of the castle, briefling stopping at a brazier to warm his gauntleted hands.

The lady smiles every so slightly, and turns back to the blistering whiteness of the tundra.

The Autobiography of a Wise Man

“The following writing was passed down to me by my parents before they had passed away... This is a small passage from my Father's Biography. I humbly pass on his legacy to any and all who read this, as it also intertwines with around the time I was born.”

Prologue: It was a calm, cool, Autumn day. The wind was blowing at a thin whisper and everyone was set about to their daily duties and chores. It seemed everything was at peace for the little town and my parents who entered it for the first time.. They slowly walked down the main street of the sublime town and looked at all the wonders it had to offer. They had not been in the town for more than ten minutes when they had already noticed a Bakery, a Blacksmith, a General Store, a Church and even a Brothel farther down a narrow alley that they did not care to travel.

While they continued to stare in awe at all the splendors of the town, memory suddenly struck my Father and he remembered why they had traveled to this relaxed place. He started to shake timidly and zoned out into the distance... The memory came flowing back into his mind.

The scene filling in around him as if he was back there, again.

===============================================

'It had been a long, hard day of work out in the field. He was tired and ready to eat anything that came in his path. He walked back to his tiny cabin, that wasn't to far away from the fields. Walking fast, he made it in a matter of minutes, ready for dinner.. He entered the Cabin to the site of a lovely meal and an even lovelier fiance. The Woman made her way to my Father in a rush of excitement and they held each other for longer than they cared to remember... The field was rough for both of them and in more ways than one. While he had to stand there and manually hoe the fields for the light of the day. The Women would have to go and collect seeds from a nearby grove. Both jobs we're harsh and did not pay well in the least bit. They would return from work everyday exhausted. Then they were expected to be ready to do it again, within 6 hours of rest.

They were struggling; it was more than easy to see, but it turned out everyone was in this boat when it came to the work on the farm. It seemed like a hopeless life for them. So they came up with an idea. They slowly schemed an escape plan for several days. When the night came for the plan to go into action, an even more unexpected event happened... They left the safety of there cabin to the site of a Necromancer upon a hill to the North of where they stood. In his stance he held a staff and was infinitely conjuring monsters of the night into the fenced off area of the farm. Chaos erupted from everywhere as people ran in terror and fear. Instantly, farm hands and some other tough men attempted to kill off the monsters, but it was suicide. People were dying everywhere and the couple took that as their moment of hope to escape... They ran South, in the opposite direction of the Necromancer. As they ran, the sound of the blood curdling screams and ripping flesh soon was drowned out by the intense clap of the thunder that rained down over the region.

While plotting their escape, my Father had previous knowledge of a town not to far from the farm. It was known for supplying the small cropland with food and supplies when needed. They ran for hours in the night that extended rapidly into the early morning twilight. Upon the sun reaching the height in the sky, that would resemble noon. They saw the smoke from countless chimney's in the distance and began to run faster... The sight was more beautiful to them than anything before. It was a new life for the couple.'

===============================================

My Father slowly came back to reality and snapped into action. He had little time and needed to use it well. As much as he was grasped by the beauty of the town, he knew it wouldn't stay that way if the Necromancer had followed them. He quickly hurried in the direction of the Town Hall after asking a citizen for directions.. He grabbed his fiance's hand and they hastily made there way to the center of the town... When they arrived, they noticed right away a large gathering of people. They all seemed to be complaining about something. Yelling and ranting in the direction of a very hairy, Dwarf-looking man. Assuming he was in charge, my Father pushed through the crowd and started to shout in repetition. “I BRING NEWS! I BRING NEWS!” The crowd began to quiet down almost immediately, realizing they did not know the man that was speaking. He started to talk directly to the Dwarf; still holding his fiance's hand. He spoke at a rapid pace; making sure everyone could hear him, but also understand him. He spoke of the Farm to the North and of the Necromancer. He exclaimed at the magic that had been caste and the monsters that had killed all the others. He told them... to prepare.

A couple nights were spent in the town, readying it for battle. The town folk were not afraid to fight for there homes. They had created a wall-like structure around the premises and had several archers placed around it. All the men of the village took up arms. Some having to use weapons from the Blacksmith's, since they did not own any themselves. Night set for the third time since the couple had reached the Town.. As the Sun slowly went down, a chill ran up everyone's spine. They could feel an eerie presence approaching. They all got tense and waited. As the waiting got more intense, they heard the moans and shrieks of the oncoming hoards of Zombies & Skeletons. The Necromancer was no where to be seen, so the town prepared for the attack.

The monsters struck the town with a slow like ferocity. Although, they were easy to kill. They were relentless in numbers. Knowing there was no end to this madness. The Dwarf-looking Lord set off on a quest to kill the Necromancer with my Father. He left my Mother to care for the wounded; fearing the worst... The Dwarf and my Father traveled fast. Leaving the town on the East side, they entered the Forest that lye near the town and headed toward the direction of the monsters. They ran with swiftness, but also with stealth. They reached a clearing in the forest that was bathed in moonlight. They researched the area and noticed the Necromancer chanting near what looked to be a dark portal. Monsters were continuing out of this diabolical vortex, so they knew what they had to do. The Dwarf charged in a rage allowing for a distraction. The Necromancer's attention was taken in a flash and his focus on the stream of ghouls was halted. The Dwarf ran into the clearing and started the fight with a throwing ax. The ax skinned the evil one's robe and left it looking more shredded then it already was. Becoming angered, the Necromancer caste a deadly lighting bolt towards the Dwarf, who was struck instantly and violently. Crumpling into a smoking heap on the ground, which shook my Father to his core. The Necromancer continued summoning monsters and my Father realized he must have not been noticed yet. Taking this as his only chance. He crept up as slow as possible behind the Necromancer. He had been wielding a small blade this entire time and clenched it tighter. He got to the point of being a few feet away from the Evil Wizard. He became nervous and anxious, but stayed calm. He raised himself up and without thinking... Thrusted the blade in to the spine of the summoner. The Necromancer let out a howl of pain and then turned to stare at the Human. He stared with eyes of intense heat and began to laugh. “Ha ha ha,You puny mortal! You dare strik-eogh!” He was interrupted, in surprise to a blade being shoved deep into his throat. My Father had struck again without thinking... The Necromancer fell lifeless and the evil presence in the air began to dissipate. The portal evaporated and the thunder had stopped since the Dwarf's attack. Everything seemed better in the world.

--Four Hours Later--

The town was nearly unscathed by the attack. Only a few buildings had missing panels of material and only two men had perished: The Dwarf and unknown fighter, to my parents.

Services were held in remembrance of both brave warriors, along with respects being said by my Father. The town was sad that day for the loss of there leader, but willingly offered the position to my Father. If he had not brought the news, they would have surely been killed in the Evil One's attempt. He accepted with surprise and finally felt he was moving up in Aegis. The town went back to normal life, in a quick fashion and my parents married within the Town Hall, a few weeks later. They lived in peace for a long time and soon came to bare me...

“This my friends. Is where my story begins.”

(Just a small sample. The story is just beginning.)

“Reoigi” a man called. It was seconds before the world felt the first glimpse of the sun. a young boy was out beating a practice dummy with a stick. “Reoigi” it’s too early to be training. “I know” Reoigi said. “But I woke up and had no other way to pass the time” Reoigi said. “You are a few weeks shy of 10” the man said kneeling down to hug the boy. “You should not be training so hard” he said. “Now come home to your mother and me” the man said. Reoigi yawned. “So you are tired after all” the man said. “I’ll tell you the story of aegis again, how would you like that” he man said. Reoigi had only heard it twice and from the story teller at that.

“I would like that very much” Reoigi said. The man laughed and cleared his throat. A gust of crisp air meant that summer had ended. The man started “there is a land far from here, one that is called aegis.” “There dwarves and orcs lie” the man said. Reoigi thought they didn’t exist but was too polite to intrude. “They have started civilization every race living differently. Dwarves lurked underground while orcs chose to live in the desert.” He said

“But they did not live in harmony with each other. War broke out between the two sometimes. Elves and humans were there too.” He said. Reoigi had heard of elves living to the east but had never seen one. “They lived in harmony trading and sharing jokes. But they were different from us. A man was accused of a crime he did not commit and was found guilty by the elven court. He managed to escape and headed north. he brought some friends with him on the journey north. 4 elves and 4 men. They were friendly and kind. They traveled until they could continue no more. So they started to build. A small town, Then kingdoms. They are long gone but there kingdoms stand here today.” The man finished.

The man messed up Reoigi’s hair. The man went inside to the house as Reoigi watched the sun’s light stream through buildings. Reoigi went inside also. He went to his room where a map of the kingdom lay. He thought about aegis. He thought about the distant land. He wondered if he would ever see it. He especially wanted to see a dwarf. To the south of the city walls were some woods. He loved to climb the trees. his mother did not approve but Reoigi loved it.

5 years later.

Reoigi stood over his father’s grave. Beside it was his mother’s grave. His friend lothar put an arm around him. Reoigi cried but then a crisp wind ran through the city meaning the end of summer. He smiled and got up. He went to his house. He grabbed his sword. The stone was heavy in his hands. His father gave it to him. He raised it then sheathed it in his scabbard. He grabbed a few coins and decided to adventure through the kingdom. lothar climbed to the roof of Reoigi’s house. There he saw Reoigi staring out at the kingdom. The house was built on a hill and provided a view of the kingdom. in the distance a castle lay. Lothar said “where will you go now”. Reoigi said “I’m going to a place that will find me”. Reoigi went to the woods and learned the kingdom inside out.

3 years later

Reoigi had come to Atil a large village. For the first time he fell at peace. He loved how the city glowed in the night. It was a warm glow he thought. Not having enough money to buy a house he lived in the woods. He loved a tree that grew just outside the walls. One night he watched the moon light stream through the leaves. Below a small pond lay. The moon made the water glitter giving the place a surreal feel to it. He turned around and looked into the pond. His eyes glowed more than usual in his reflection. He thought nothing of it at the time and went to sleep in the branch. He woke up in the morning as the sun’s rays streaked the horizon. Reoigi climbed down. The small pond glittered with blue light. Reoigi looked into the pond and splashed his face with water. He opened his eyes and saw a face shrouded in shadow. His eyes glittered with a blue flame.

He put a hood on and looked back at the tree. He turned around and walked to the city he bumped into a man. He said sorry. The man continued. Reoigi walked to an armory. He looked at the armor. He only wanted a hood to cover his face. He saw nothing. Reoigi then continued to the market. He looked around for some meat. The butcher shouted “out get out now and never come back”. Reoigi was deeply affected. He ran away hoping that this was all a dream but he knew it wasn’t. he went back to his stuff and looked at his stone sword. He suddenly felt normal again. He put the sword down and grabbed his bow and quiver. He went hunting in the woods.

He saw a stag and easily nailed a few arrows in it. He lived off of that stag for a week. One night a man called “hey you I’ve seen you before”. Reoigi turned around to see a man with a black cloak. “Who are you” Reoigi asked. “That is for me to know and you to find out” the man said. “how do you know me” Reoigi asked. The man said “déjà vu I guess”. The two became friends almost instantly. “I believe I am supposed to teach you how to fight” the man said. “how” Reoigi asked. “I am the best fighter I know” Reoigi said. “Can I call you shade” the man asked. Reoigi said “yes of course but how can you teach me how to fight better” Reoigi asked impatiently. “I’ll show you” the man said. He picked up a stick and tossed it to Reoigi. He then picked up another stick. The two started to spar. For almost an hour no one hit each other. Each performing dodges and parrys until finally Reoigi met his match and the man knocked him on the chin breaking the stick and knocking Reoigi down. “that’s how” the man said.

The two connected like long lost brothers. The man told Reoigi something that changed his life. “even you who is possessed by shadows is not evil. Your decision can be swayed, your judgment may be broken but you have the final say, your life is your choice. The night air swayed lazily through the forest. The man laid down and started to sleep. Reoigi thought about what the man said for the night and he was no longer afraid of what he is. The night became morning and Reoigi started to call himself shade. He hunted in the forest and sold the meat in the city and slowly saved up. for months he trained with the man. One day he had enough money to buy a house. So he did.

He lived in the city but spent most of his time hunting. One day while in the forest he smelled smoke. He ran back to the city. Most of it was in ashes now but on the far side he saw the mayor watch as the city burned down. The city of ashes. He ran back to his home and managed to salvage his stone sword. He quickly ran out. he came back to the tree where the man was waiting. “the corrupt want power and do not care for the lives they took getting it” the man said grimly. “I have heard news of undead raids and attacks. Everyone who will join will be rewarded” he said. “But what undead don’t exist” shade said. “if only that were true” the man said. “go to oren” the man said. Shade had never heard of oren before. “how will I get there” shade asked. The man only threw a compass at him and ran.

Shade stared down at the compass. It span in circles until shade picked it up. when he did it pointed in a general south direction. Shade followed it. For no less than half a year he walked through harsh terrain climbing mountains, conquering deserts and crossing plains. On his seventh month he saw a city in the horizon. He walked to it. As he saw it clearly he started to run. He found a sign saying 20 miles to winterfell. He ran for hours but he finally came to the city walls. He asked “where am I”. a man from behind said you are in aegis. Shade unable to comprehend the fact that he had been the first person to cross the distance to aegis. The last thing he remembered was hitting the floor. He woke up in a temple and rolled over in pain. He had not thought about the toll that the journey had taken on him. He passed out and woke up with the well of life on one side and the well of death on the other.

A monk said if you see an undead kill it on sight they are the bane of all life. Shade unsheathed his stone sword. He walked forward and found some stairs up. he followed them and saw a forest before him. He went down the stairs and came onto a stone road. He found a sign saying to oren. Shade knelt having finally made it he knew what he had to do for the first time in a long time. He had to exterminate all of the undead. He walked down the road and eventually came o a city gate. He asked if they would open up, a man asked “name and business”. Shade responded “I am Reoigi” and I wish to see the city. “fair enough” the man said. The gate opened up before him. He walked through with the sun high in the sky casing its glow on all that it see’s

The first thing I remember is the screaming. My mother wanting to give me away, my father wanting to raise me himself. When I was five, my mother began to drink. She hated me. My father raised me with the values a true dwarf should have. Loyalty. Honor. Valiance. My mother beat me for being these things. I was in danger when around her. To get away from her one day, My father took me into the woods to hunt. The most significant of these was one day when I was eighteen. We sat there in silence for hours at a time. He looked at me with the love that only a father can have for his son. The sunlight shone through the trees, and landed on a lone pig. My father handed me a wooden sword. I charged, and heard a hissing noise nearby. An explosion. I was given a choice. Give up, and go to an eternal limbo...or to begin again. I awoke in a clearing a few yards away from my father. The sword was gone, as were the rest of the supplies I had brought. I looked at my father and said I was ready to set out. Tears welling in his eyes, he gave me a hug...and a bright light blinded me. When my vision cleared, I was in the Cloud Temple of Aegis. My journey began.

Lym grew up in the Town of Al'Khazar. As son of a Dwarvish Father & a Human Mother he is a Halfling. His Childhood was very difficult for him. Other Kids didn't want to play with him, except one, his Friend Grubb. Grubb, also a Halfling Child, loved playing with Lym. Both had a great time but Lym was never pleased with only one Friend. He wanted to be accepted and respected by all other Kids.... Today, Grubb & Lym are still best friends. Grubb, always happy and friendly to everyone, was the opposite of Lym...

This all has begun with the Death of Lyms Father, Bilbo. He died in the jails of Al'Khazar, where he was totured by some Oren Guards. His Father was accused of murdering a Woman. The Woman was a employee in the Shop he owned. His Father wasn't at home the Day the Woman was murdered but the Guards refused to belive him. Bilbo said the Truth but he died in the stinky jails of Al'Khazar. Lym figured out the names of the Guards and so his Revenge was near.. Lym asked Grubb for help murdering them but Grubb refused to kill someone for his Revenge. Frustraded Lym left the Al'Khazar. He needed time to think about everything..

On his Journey he went to the Northern Settlements. There he found a abandoned Lodge, which he used as new Home. He used the Daytime to have a look around, sitting on Hills and thinking of his Father. In his absence his Mother died in Al'Khazar. She had a incurable Illness, called Frolesxy. Even the best Doctors in Aegis didn't know how to heal this Illness, nor what it does with the body of the Victim. When Lym visited Al'khazar and got to know about her Death, he searched for Grubb. A friend of the Family of Grubb told him the Halfling Family went to South, to Whisper Isle. Lym had no one he could talk to, so he left Al'Khazar again, going to the Northern Settlements and his Lodge.

When he arrived at the Lodge, he found a Man in a Robe, sitting on one of the chairs, smoking a Pipe. Lym asked who he was and what he wanted in his Lodge. The mysterious Man ignored him. He just react when Lym came closer and looking deeper into his Face.. his eyes started glowing Red. Lym was going to leave the Lodge. He was very scared of the Man. In the Moment Lym opened the Door, the Man said 'Halt'. Lym turned around. Without a noise or movement the Man suddenly stood in front of Lym, his eyes glowing even more Red. 'I have a task for you.', the Man whispered. 'Lym.. I can see big changes in your life..', he whispered. 'Worship Iblees..', he said a little bit louder. 'Iblees?', Lym carefully respond. 'Rumours in the North, Undead, Pain, Force & Conquer', the Man answered. 'Wait, until the attack, leave the North, it's too dangerous for Halflings like you!'. Suddenly the Man dissapeard in a thick cloud of ash. Lym couldn't do anything else than belive this man. Undead? Pain? Force? Force to kill the Guards who killed his Father? Lym followed his orders and moved West. He heard of new Halfling Villages.

On his Way West, he met Grubb, who was chopping down some Trees. Grubb didn't change a bit! He was still a very happy person. Grubb told Lym about the Halfling Villages. One of them, called Dunwood, was a small but fine community. Both didn't know the Way but it was West. They decided to go there. On their Way West Grubb told Lym about his Family. The family split up, the parents were divorced. Grubb decided to live alone in the West. Lym wanted to tell Grubb about the mysterious Man and the Undead but Lym remained subtle.

When they arrived on a Hill they met a man, called Frado. He had searched for Dunwood since months but didn't find it either. Frado had the idea of founding a new Settlement. It was a great idea and soon they found a nice Location for a Halfling Village. So they started working on it...

3 years later the Undead Attacks begun. Lym heard of it when he visited Al'Khazar. The Reason for his visit was to buy Seeds but at a Shop he heard two Soldiers talking about a Fortress, made out of Obsidian and Lava. They said it was near Snowy Fields. Snowy Fields was maybe a 2 hour Walk from his Lodge, so he started travelling North. Lym was always very curious and this was the chance he was searching for. He hoped to find that mysterious Man again. When he arrived at Snowy Fields he saw the Obsidian Fortress from the Distance. Corpses of Soldiers were lying on the cold ground, in the Distance he heard a Man laughing and shouting very loud. When he came closer to the Fortress, suddenly the mysterious Man, he met 3 years ago, appeard in front of him. 'Welcome, Lym.. are you ready for your Trials and worshipping Iblees? 'Yes, my Master.'

Before The Attack

Tylos always wondered what happened before the day he woke up in the Temple of Aegis. When he woke that day he saw monks all around him, one of them told him that was was found in a burning town by Oren guards. The same monk also asked him what he remembered about the attack. Tylos couldn't remember anything except for being on the ground bleeding and hearing screaming everywhere. He couldn't see anything but fire around him. Suddenly the screaming stopped and he heard someone shout "Look he's still alive finish him!" Then he saw an iron sword covered in blood above him and everything went black. He told them everything he knew and they let him leave. They seemed satisfied, after all they were just monks. They didn't need to know what happened, their job is to heal not solving crimes. But Tylos wasn't, he wanted to know what happened in his entire life before he woke up.

He had many questions he wanted answered. Where did he grow up? Who were his parents? Who attacked the town and why? What was his job? He didn't remember his whole life and it bothered him greatly. So he pondered on what to do. After a short while he decided he would go to Alkhazar and ask the Oren guards what happened.

After 5 days and 5 nights travelling he finally reached Alkhazar. He was in complete awe of this massive city that he was about to enter. The City's walls were as thick as most towns were big and beyond the walls there was a sea of houses. And when we saw the castle he was even more amazed the he thought was possible. The castle was so beautiful and it looked as tall as all the land he walked on when put vertically times two and it was very wide too.

So on to the barracks he went. In front of the door into the barracks two guards were talking, Tylos asked them if he could speak. The two guards gave him a stare and one of them said in a slightly angry voice "Yes but it better be important". Tylos asked them if any towns were attacked recently, the guards thought for a moment and the same guard who spoke earlier said "Yes actually. Why?". Tylos told them about his last memories, when he woke up in the temple and that the monks told him that there were Oren guards there and they were the ones who saved him.

The guard opened the door to the barracks and he shouted "Captain?", then after a couple of minutes tall, broad man clad in diamond armour came to the door. The guard said "Captain do you know anything about that town that was attacked recently?" The Captain said "Not really but I think it's name was Aldon. The Sergeant is questioning a survivor of the attack I think. Why do you want to know, John?". John said "This man here wants to know about that town because *and he told the Captain Tylos' story*". The Captain asked Tylos to follow him and he brought Tylos to the place where the Sergeant was questioning the survivor.

The Captain told the Sergeant that Tylos might have lived in that town and he would like to hear about the town because he can't remember anything about it. The Sergeant pointed to a seat and Tylos sat down and immediately the man that was being questioned turned to Tylos and joyfully said "You're alive! I thought those bandits had killed you.". Tylos stared back at him, he looked familiar but Tylos couldn't remember from where. He tried to think of the man's name but he couldn't remember of that either.

After about half a minute the man knew Tylos didn't remember him so he said "Don't you remember me Tylos? *he waited a couple of seconds* I'm your father." at hearing this Tylos was shocked. He felt sad that he couldn't even remember his own father but at the same time his father would be the perfect person to tell him about his life. Tylos then replied with "No, sorry. I don't remember anything in my entire life before the attack." his father then said "It's ok son. I'll tell you a small bit about Aldon, the town you grew up in now but then I need to finish telling the Sergeant what happened. So I'll have to tell you the rest later. Aldon was a small town near Alkhazar.

Aldon was built on a small area of flat land completely surrounded by a wall of hills. Just over the hill there is a small lake where we used to get our water. And we mostly ate the apples our town's Lord and also your grandfather David collected from his tree farm near the lake which I forgot to tell you was the named Lake David after your grandfather. We also built almost everything with the wood we got from the tree farm. We became a very wealthy town and we were never attacked by anyone until one day. On that day David was assassinated. Since he was my father, I became the Lord. The next day we were attacked by bandits and our guards were only just able to fight them off. After a week while we were still weak, the bandits attacked again, that time they managed to kill the guards and destroy the town. I will tell you about your childhood later but now I need to finish my discussion with the Sergeant."

After that long day Tylos knew about the town he used to live in, who is father was(although in their discussions Tylos never found out his father's name) and who is grandfather was. But he still had so many questions that he needed to be answered.

Tylos decided to wait in a small inn where he could see the place the Sergeant was questioning his father out the window. That way he could see when his father left the building. After a couple hours he saw his father come out of the building where he was being questioned. Tylos knew he was done and went out to greet him. Tylos' father whispered to Tylos "Could we go back into that inn? I know you were just in there but I think someone is watching us." Tylos said yes and they went back to the inn.

Tylos' father said "Ok. If you actually remember nothing your probably don't remember my name. My name is Owyn. Anyway I'll tell you about your life up to now. So when you were a young child you always wanted to be a knight when you were older and you always chased deer around with your wooden sword. You practised by hitting dummies very often too. When you were 10 you became a guard recruit. But you don't do any real fighting when you are a recruit, you just learn the techniques and you are also thought how to tell if someone who wanted you to let them into town was telling the truth or not. You were very good and you were by far the best recruit, if you weren't so young you would have become a guard before you even turned 11."

"When you were about to turn 14 Captain Sean decided you were old enough to become a guard. We were going to keep it as surprise for your birthday but the town was destroyed about two days before your birthday. You were caught completely off guard when the town was attacked, you were heading home after a day of training and since everything a recruit used at training belonged to the Captain, you didn't have any weapon on you. So when you were attacked you couldn't defend yourself you were surrounded so you couldn't run, I came out because I heard the Captain shout "We're under attack!". I ran out and I saw them attacking you, then I saw you falling down to the ground with blood all over your face and finally to finish you off a bandit stepped on top of you and he drove his sword down into your chest."

"I thought you were dead and most men would have died after that. Since I thought you were dead me and your mother, Clara escaped through the secret exit in the castle. But before we reached Alkhazar a pigman grabbed her and threw her with all his strength into the wall of some tavern, I killed the pigman and ran to her but she had already died"

When Tylos heard that all the memories he had started rushing back into his head and he was glad he finally knew most of what happened. But now he wanted to kill those bandits, they took away everything he had in his life and now it is their turn to suffer. So he asked Owyn "Do you know anything about those bandits? I must have revenge" Owyn replied "Are you serious? That is suicide. But if you really want to have revenge then I'll tell you what I know tomorrow. We have to get some sleep."

The next morning Tylos asked Owyn "Do you know anything about the bandits?" Owyn sighed and he said "They're base is between here and Montego. It is very large and they are very good fighters. Like I said last night, it is suicide going there. We need to be equipped with iron armour and a golden swords we also need to hire some fighters to help us.".

Since Owyn used to be a lord he had a lot of minas so he could afford golden armour as well as a golden sword each. After that he hired 10 mercenaries to help them fight the bandits. Now they were ready to attack the bandit camp and have their revenge. So they headed off and by noon they had reached the bandit camp.

Tylos and company all hid just outside of different parts of the camp and they started waiting until a moment where the bandits were vulnerable. After a couple of minutes a tall, broad almost monstrous Orc came out of the biggest tent in the camp. He was holding a diamond warhammer and he was not someone you would just run up to and attack, if you wanted a chance at killing him you had to use stealth. Another bandit(who was a Dark Elf) ran up to him and said in a scared tone "Ringleader, ringleader! I think we are being watched!" then the Orc replied "Stupid Elf, no one that isn't part of are group is here." and to show that he was not afraid he put his warhammer into a lidless box and turned away. The Dark Elf then walked into a tent(presumably his)and was muttering something to himself.

Tylos knew this was the perfect chance to kill the Orc so he sneaked up behind him and he quickly grabbed the warhammer, the Orc spun around but he was too late a by the time he had turned around his head was hit by his own warhammer. The Orc fell to the ground because of the force of the hit he took and then Tylos killed him by hitting him so hard while he was on the ground that is skull shattered like glass. The Dark Elf ran out of his tent with a golden dagger but he was shot in the head with an arrow by one of the mercenaries.

Then tons of other bandits came running out of the rest of the tents with all sorts of diamond and golden weapons, Tylos ran and while he was running the mercenaries started firing at the bandits. The bandits turned away from Tylos and started attacked the mercenaries instead because there were more of them. The mercenary archers continued firing until the bandits got too close then the mercenary fighters ran down and attacked the bandits so the archers had time to get to a safe distance. All the fighters died but there were only six bandits left, the archers managed to kill four of them before they got to close. But there were still two bloodthirsty fighters right in front of them. Luckily for the archers Tylos and Owyn sneaked up at killed the last two bandits with stabs to their necks before the bandits knew they were behind them.

So then the battle was over and Tylos and Owyn headed back to Alkhazar and bought a house having gotten revenge on the bandits that destroyed Aldon. After these events Tylos became the Captain of Snowy Fields and had many encounters with the undead but that is another story that I may write in the future.

The Breaking of Samuel Dryden

Little is know of Samuel Dryden. Few knows his true origin, and those that does know keep their mouth shut. When Dryden first stepped out of the shadows of Aegis a common belief was that he was possessed, for surely no man could have such hate for the civilizations of Aegis?

It is unknown why he came to be as he is now, filled with wrath and unrest. What is know however is that he wishes to see the chaos that fills his heart to consume the entire world, to see the world he hate so very much to be cast down the abyss.

Well, much more then that is not known by the current occupants of Aegis.

But there is still much more to tell.

When Dryden was a child he and his family was a part of a nomad group. They wandered the world, co-existing with the nature in a peaceful harmony. They taught their young how to control their emotions, how to seek solutions to problems without resorting to violence.

And so Samuel Dryden lived, with peace in heart and mind. He lived what he believed was a perfect life.

He was, however, unaware that his perfect life was destined to have a brutal end.

In the cover of night they came, the greenish fiends. Dryden had heard the storyteller tell tales of them many times, how their brutal nature drove them to raid and murder. Dryden did not know the name of the fiends, but we do. The fiends are know to us as Orcs.

The warband charged the nomad camp and slaughtered them all. None of the nomads survived, well at least that's what they thought.

Dryden had escaped, however injured from being knocked over. He hid, and waited for the Orcs to be done. He could hear the screams of his people, even when they was since long dead.

When the Orcs finally had left what was left of the camp Dryden left his hiding place and walked back to the camp.

He walked amongst the bodies of the only family and friends he had ever had, he looked at their mutilated corpses and twisted faces.

For each body he saw his mind grew weaker. The pools of blood sparkled at the sun set. A ray of sunlight found its way through the clouds and hit Dryden. He couldn't feel its warmth. As he looked around him he found that the world's colors wasn't as bright anymore. Confused he listened to the whispers of the forest for guidance, as he had been taught by his parents.

He listened, but didn't hear. Was the forest quiet, or was he just unable to hear it.

He was alone, abandoned. The spirits of the forest had left him, as his family had done.

Young Dryden, just 13 years old, wandered the forests alone. He was damaged inside, and the world seemed to get darker and darker. As his family had taught him he tried to control his emotions, to not fuel the wrath he felt towards the fiends.

He didn't succeed in controlling his anger, and so it began to consume his heart. Dryden was greatly weaken from the loss of his family, which made it hard for him to resist the darkness that was now overwhelming his heart and mind.

He abandoned the peaceful ways of the nomads, and walked his own path.

Twelve years later Samuel Dryden saw the first signs of civilization. Without knowing it, he had come to the walls of Alkhazar. For weeks he sneaked around Alkhazar, interested in the behavior of the humans who lived there.

One day he saw a group of people wandering the road. There was Elves, Humans, Orcs and Dwarves. That was the moment that ended Samuel Dryden, 25. The darkness had completely consumed his heart. He was now hollow inside, there was nothing but a void where his feelings should have been. He had lost all faith in the races of Aegis. He would have thought that the Elves, Dwarves or at least the Humans would have helped him to defeat the monstrous Orc nation. But as it seemed, they were all either allied or at peace.

Enraged he then fled from the city. Darkness and chaos grew within him. He lost himself, everything. He forgot his legacy, his family, the Orcs that slaughtered the nomads, everything but wrath. He found that he was no longer Samuel Dryden.

His personallity changed, and a voice without origin spoke to him, and named him. He was now Tenebrae, bringer of Chaos and Darkness, destined to set the world of Aegis ablaze for their betrayal.

He had turned away all of his beliefs, and he had now his eyes on Iblees, for he shares Tenebrae's hate towards the people Aegis.

Wether there is anything left of Samuel Dryden in Tenebrae is to this date, unkown.
