I think we could do well with a brighter approach like the most early forum, or perhaps the option to change skins (that would be cool) from the current one to a more brightly themed one. 

 

I would also love to see the reimplementation of blogs, they were cool to have and were fun to store information on!

Also, the Aegis forums had a lot less in terms of sections it seemed a lot more active and concentrated as a result. Having everything spread over 144 forums (yes I counted) means that the community seems a lot more inactive.

 

Overall, things like this slightly annoy me;

Much like everyone else is saying, a colourful forum sounds good, so link #3 looks pretty good in my opinion. I think that something similar will help attract new players and if we somehow reorganise the forums it would look good. The OFF-Topic section is really huge and you can lose yourself in it.

I am personally not too fussed about the layout, however one thing I think should be added is a popup which appears once per 24 hours when a player enters the forum which reminds them to vote on Minestatus, it could just be crossed off, but it would give people a little reminder to vote if they forget.

Some kind of gigantic fancy banner like on the second link would be nice, but other than that and maybe some fancy sidebars I think we're fine.  Also, I've tried to navigate brighter forums and they just annoy me.  A lot.

I like this forum, nothing really needs to be removed or added.

 

I do think Blogs would be a nice feature (returned?).

 

Though I do not think down vote button should be, my reasoning for this is;

-If you support something, you don't need to explain why because 9/10 you will be repeating what is stated. Therefor press the support button.

-If you don't support something, you should comment why you don't support it so that it gets decent feedback. 

 

There would be cases where a person would just press the down vote button without leaving a comment for feedback, which causes the OP to see, and thing 'well what was wrong, and how can I change it with no appropriate feedback'

Almost every subforum is currently used, so I'd say no changes to this.

The current design is by far the best we've had so far, and I'd like you guys not to pull a youtube by changing it constantly. Keep it this way. It works.

That thing was practically useless, and not beneficial.

It caused quite a lot more arguments than I'd care to count, and people go dramatic over the smallest of things (You should know this.)

It doesn't benefit the conversation, either.

If you have some criticism to say, say it.

Down-voting is like pressing a button that represents a quick "**** you" and leaving it there, without further words.
