cmf95 39 Share Posted August 31, 2013 I would greatly appreciate new land, My opinion and suggestion would be this... edit: Huge mountains, we're talking that they would reach up to about 150-200, imagen the beauty of such a landscape, and it would perhaps be possible to build a temple of youth or such, for a new kin to thrive, or a "guild"... What he said. XD
xboxersz 222 Share Posted August 31, 2013 No. Someone's just going to try to take the land over. The Dwarves are supposed to stay in Kal'Azgoth, the Orcs are too spread out as it is, the Elves aren't the expansive type, and the Humans will just create more new nobles to govern the new land, off balancing the common to noble ratio even further. Expansion is just a bad idea.
Ventusyr 233 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Even then, you don't need more than one character to RP everywhere on the map. But I see you're talking about WANTING to play them. I read it as 'if you don't play xx race/character type, you won't be able to be a part of this group so you'll miss all that rp'. Sure, more alts is more freedom I guess. But it contributes to the ghost town syndrome more than anything else. Numerous arguments have been made in the past as to why people can't play everything. We're trying to avoid god-like characters who know magic and swordsmanship, plus they are master alchemists, not to mention know all there is to know about agriculture, and they own an inn and a mansion and they are the head of one of the houses of Oren. Thus, people have more than one character. More alts created the ghost-town syndrome. It did. But we should just destroy the ghost towns and avoid adding new land if you suggest having only one character because nobody would use it.
Haelonavious Varunthaar 12 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Possibly if new land is implemented it would be treacherous and only for exploration purposes (Not Conquering or Building) I wish not to have anymore spread-out settlements and people leaving the towns more barren than they already are. Tell me what you think :P
no longer active 734 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Or we could you know not build a whole new continent when we have the entire north we haven't used yet...

This would be a perfect balance for pro and anti map-expansionists.

Haha thanks this is exactly what I was aiming for Or we could you know not build a whole new continent when we have the entire north we haven't used yet... This would work as well, I think with the opening of this land it becomes only for the purpose I stated and events :P
Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Possibly another Island 80% The size of Anthos, bit far away from Anthos. Another land body for settle. It would keep players content with the current system of land grabs and cluttering.

Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted August 31, 2013 If that much land was introduced, you would never see anyone... ever o.o With /That much/ land introduced we can put in more Wilderness and space out settlements. Ever take a stroll in Oren? Your in one town, walk out, five seconds later, your in another town. Or the Several large keeps in every duchy of Oren. If anyone could agree, the Human Race is the most disrespectful for the Idea of Wilderness, because they need to sate the need for land for each of their Nobles. AndrewTech 3331 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Islands. Lots and lots of islands, perhaps with ruins and/or native settlements. . Sea exploration is the way of the future!
Cirdanoth 190 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Mmm.. Extension of the wilds/reinvention of the wilds, like a great 'second continent' could be nice. Maybe something collonial, rather than something to set up permanent base. I don't quite like complete 'free-build', as it slowly causes clutter and builds which aren't lore-friendly. Have some decent IC/OOC architects look into that. North opened further, da.. Maybe have volcanoes rise up out of the sea/big tortoise with land on top.. Lots of fantasy-esque ways to cause land-expansion. Sky islands, too. More ruins with actual use, barrows, graveyards, towns which grow in the morning and maybe dissappear at night, or the other way round.. Like a 'Fata Morgana'. There's still a lot of possibilities to explore. Also.. Much of the underground has remained un-used... Cracks and crevices could appear, and allow access to large cave-systems, that have not yet seen exploration.

Tell me what you think :P This is a great idea! With this, you don't get more spread out settlements, but you still get new RPing opportunities to go exploring with friends, or go fight off some monsters in an ancient ruin.
