Temporary Tlatlanni

"Sa'vi, Kharajyr." Sa'Yaotli speaks from the top of the stairs to the palace. The day is nearing night, and the stars are beginning to twinkle, the moon brightly shining across the trees, fighting the sun away.

"You do not know me well. But I am Sa'Yaotli."

"I wish to simply inform you all this day that I have been brought to the prideful position of temporary Tlatlanni. A position I will use to prepare for the return of Tlatlanni Morthawl - the true Tlatlanni." He holds his hand to his chest, open. "I do not wish to claim a position I have no need taking, nor desire. But I do wish to help our mighty Tlatlanni return to a land that is happy, and content."

Yaotli decides to walk down some steps, nearing the bottom where the Kharajyr have gathered. "Our Tlatlanni may be far for now. But he is still with us. In ours hearts. We must have faith in his health, and his strength. He shall return in due time. And I will no longer need to stand speaking to my fellow people."

"We shall honor our Tlatlanni's arrival with a feast. And upon his return, we shall celebrate and give life to this island."

"More than that, though. We must appease Metztli. We should gather one sacrifice for this feast. And do so quickly and nearer to the date it shall occur. I shall inform those who wish to know on methods on acquiring foul apes, that are not our acquaintances or allies."

"And finally. We shall give praise to our Sage, Natayshi, who has lived longer than any Kharajyr. Clearly blessed by Metztli herself in ways even Yaotli cannot understand."

"Sa'vi, good Kharajyr."

"Syo fa uha tyo saad uin Muuna."

Kerdantul shrugs, grasping his serrated war-axe. He moves out to hunt the Kha' that tries to seize power.

Rüthar releases a deep sigh- It's intent not clear.

That is, until he speaks out towards the 'temporary Tla''
He calls out to him, speaking with a small hint of disdain,

"Who are you to claim such a power, Yaotli? You state that we may not know you, and that can say quite a lot.
Specifically that I was given the title of Do' before I even knew of your existence. Or even before the Kha' themselves did.."

His scarred brow line deepens, getting slightly more angered with each word,
"Of such minimal notoriety, how can we trust your abilities?
How can we be confident in you, and what you stand for? We cannot. That is the only answer.
Undeserving is an understatement."

Rüthar raises his hand to grip onto his Lapis necklace, regarding it as protective and holy,
"Rüthar does not recognize your authority."

Sa'Yaotli looks upon Ruthar.

"Ruthar thinks that Yaotli assumes this role because he wants it. No."

"Sa'Yaotli assumes this role because when the time came, Yhl'Zeriko passed it to me. Not because I am a hungry Gy'waka feasting on foolish Kha." Yaotli's gaze narrows on Ruthar, as if he was pinning that comment on him.

"Yaotli wants only to sustain our Island until Tlatlanni Morthawl may return, and retake his rightful place."

The tired-looking Kharajyr gets a low grumble in his throat.
Replying further,

"If you wish for our society to be sustained, then do not take it up yourself.
You are undeserving, and not sufficient."

He glares at him for a moment before continuing,
"Zeriko was unwise to pass such an honor to you. It is not your right to take up such a thing. Denying it would have been a better choice, at least in your case.
Gain respect before you try to force it towards you. That is how one becomes a loved Tla', just as Morthawl is loved.

If Yaotli doesn't want Kharajyr blaspheming him, then Yaotli should step down.
Otherwise, Rüthar is not the fool."

"Ruthar can think as he wishes. But Yaotli shall continue to sustain our blessed island. If you do not like the way he does this, then you can by all means leave."

"Zeriko was not unwise. Nor am I. It does not take a second-coming Tiazar to keep us from falling, financially nor militaristic-ly."

"Ruthar is but half Yaotli's age. And cannot call anybody undeserving when Yaotli has heard nothing of Ruthar in the history books. As much as I would like to believe you happy with my choice. I will not waste my time convincing you. Now be on your way. I have better things to spend my time with."

Rüthar is 34.
"And hearing the words of your Do'Tavalah is a waste of your time?

That shows ignorance and being unwise exactly there.
Rüthar has heard less of Yaotli than he has heard of anyone there is. Do not speak to Rüthar about being
known.
Do not spew your nonsense to these Kha' about your authority.
Do not speak of anything, as if it was your right to take up this authority.

Be on your way. You are not known here. Nor is whatever 'respect' you may think we have towards you."

Jujan sighs, discomfort on her face as she glances around the kha' gathered around the steps of the temple. "Kha's leadership selections while the Tlatlanni has been silly. Makes no sense to Jujan." She mutters, leaning her head down to rub noses the the small kitten she supports in the crook of her elbow. For a while, she waits and watches to see what Ruthar and the unknown kha' would do. Her patience for this whole mess was drawing thin, though, glancing up with over-all disapproval.

"This has been a sad attempt at establishing temporary leadership. Kha' might have been better off with none at all." She scoffs, straightening her back, bouncing lightly on her feet as the other kitten on her back begins to stir. She shakes her head again, this time in slight agreement with Ruthar as she turns to head home to Tarkin and the other two kittens.

Zeriko paces softly towards free space near the stairs, he speaks out loud.

"Ittsa clearly Zeriko made aw mistawke. As Tla'Morthawl's trusty advisur andda friend, Zeriko propose thutta thus Temp Tla' shouldda bu castedda aside as it seemsa tu be greed thut gus throwgh Kharajyr veins.Yoatli hus a grweatta idea andda we shouwld du thus as Kharajyr goal. Yoatli willa lead thus project tu his extend. Nuw stoppa yur complainin, if not likea whutta Zeriko propose, shouldda Zeriko speak tu Tla'Morthawl offa thus?"

He pauses as he awaits for the answer, if none bother to question this. Zeriko turns around back to the jungle.

Rabeoha listions, he growls a bit, clutching the trindent that was once his mothers. He has never heard anything of this kha' and neither did his old gardian Ruthar. "Rabeoha belives that you are not fit for tlatlanni, Rabeoha has never seen you, and do not know you at all."

[ Yet again. After they tell me to make the same proposal on another character, the Kharajyr have obviously denied such a thing OOCly. ]
