Lucion Sullas marches at a quick-pace towards the notice-board with a grim face. He grasps roughly at a number of old notices, and tears them off unceremoniously with a loud grunt. Taking some of the pins from the scattered parchment, he attaches his own, grand poster to the stone board, and it covers some of the smaller ones with the bloated paper.

Wiping his mouth with his free hand, he finishes his work, and smooths the paper out with his palms. Standing back, he glares at the paper briefly before twisting around and marching off towards Silir's smithery. A gathering of distinctly curious (though mostly confused) high elves gather around the new posting, and blink at the information present.

Attention, Venerated Citizenry

Haelun'or requires your service

The venerated cihi of Haelun'or desires able mali'aheral to join the ranks of a reformed Sillumiran security force. All volunteers/conscripts shall require to undergo training in reformed Sillumiran tactics, as well as experimental, magic-infused weaponry. Those who are volunteering/conscripted will be expected to carry out the duties of the mali'aheral and defend the law of the city and its citizenry. Those of non-mali'aheral blood who desire to join/are conscripted should do their utmost in seeking out Lucion Sullas for the sake of being judged worthy of the institution.

The Sillumiran

The term translates to "weeping blades"--those who desire not conflict, but must do so regardless to uphold the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Those who accept the possibility of impurity through violence to assure the safety and life of the people to whom they must guard. They are keepers of the law, upholders of the peace and, when necessary, destroyers of the unworthy.

Though their work is repulsive, it is a necessity, and the respect they receive for their works should be known. Thus, it is advised that those whom serve should be honoured as such to have the term "ceru" before their name to signify the strength that they exhibit.

In most conventional military forces, soldiers are divided up into units of swordsmen, archers, cavalry etc. Due to our relatively unique situation of having access to innumerable powerful sorcerers, they shall be incorporated into the reformed Sillumiran forces. Those without access to magic shall be trained as multi-purpose infantry with New-Model weaponry, courtesy of Mr

Silir'ilume.

Though it pains one to forbid mali'aheral from acting as they will, all Sillumir and denizen-auxiliaries will be expected to follow the express commands of their superiors for greater co-ordination. Only through discipline in command will allow the mali'aheral to fight as proper force together. This is not a desire for power or control, but merely a logical decision.

Rankings Within the Reformed System

Okarir'tir

The physical expression of the law. He has the first, and last word on malefactors and criminal behaviour. The interpretation of the law this one gives is the final interpretation.

Tilruir'tir

The second-in-command and the primary voice of the law, should the Okarir'tir be absent.

Tilruir'sil

The third-in-line when the primary and secondary commanders are absent. This position would only require to be filled should the numbers of the Sillumiran exceed the command of the current leaders.

Sillumir

The stalwart guardians of the Enclave. Each Sillumir will be trained with the finest weapons and armour the mali'aheral can provide, and with them uphold the purity of elhaelun'or.

The Two Faces of a Sillumir

As stated prior, there are no individual archery, cavalry, or footman divisions within the reformed Sillumir system. Only Evariran, and Tanya'sairan. The Guardians, and the Sorcerers.

The Evarir

rrsGnSJ.jpg

The Evarir is the conventional armoured fighter of the city. Armed with new-model weaponry and armoured in form-fitting steel, they will be trained as multi-purpose soldiers. They both protect the citizenry in martial skill, as well as being a wall of steel between aggressors and the Tanya'sair.

The Tanya'sair

zCQadxg.jpg

The Tanya'sair is one who chooses (or is chosen) to defend and police their city with sheer magical prowess. They are sorcerers of considerable talent, and their powers would be put to great use in the service of the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

The Weaponry of the Sillumiran

With the aid of our enchanters as well as resources provided by now-defunct allies, we have access to a variety of experimental weapons for use in the city defense forces.

((Note for the presumptuous: Most enchanted weapons in this list are likely no more, or less, effective than their standard counterparts unless directly specified. I just like cool, magical things. Cool things are cool.))

((Further note for the presumptuous: Pictures shown in this thread are likely not what they look like in-game. They are mainly just to give a general idea of what they should look like.))

New-Model Retracting Spear Mk. 4

First in the "NM" series of experimental/enchanted weapons is the retracting spear. A Sillumir should never be physically hampered by the weapons he carries, and thus one of our venerated Evarir may hang a fully-functioning spear on his belt without fear of it hindering their sword-arm. The weapons themselves are currently still being tested, thus any criticisms of its functioning are to be immediately reported.

2EDiO9u.jpg

New-Model Combat Sword

Combat will almost always degenerate to swordplay, and thus I present a somewhat uncouth design. The longer hilt allows for greater control over the sword's movements, while the shorter blade lightens the weapon considerably, and improves speed.

IvyRlFN.jpg

New-Model Utility Dagger

Outside of the item in question performing all manners of convenient "cutting" without the requirement of a sword, this dagger is otherwise unremarkable. One merely wished to retain the "New-Model" theme.

vFsASZq.jpg

New-Model Precision Crossbow Mk. 2

Due to the length of time it takes for effective archery training, one has opted to instead to make use of the simpler "crossbow" design. Created mainly from old Valah "arbalests," the precision crossbow allows for higher accuracy upon the walls of the city. A longer shoulder-rest was attached for the bowman's stability, and comfort.

New-Model Wastrel-Suppressor

One has always been an advocate of non-deadly incarceration techniques, and thusly one presents his most experimental of designs. The Wastrel Suppressor is a heavily enchanted steel "baton" of sorts that when connected with an aggressor, will deliver a sharp, direct, "shock" to them. Said shock will cause considerable pain, and will hopefully stun/incapacitate targeted dregs after three or four connections.

Code of the Sillumir

-Loyalty to your people and elhaelun'or above all else. They are the treasures that you must protect.

-The law is your creed, and the leaders your masters. Obedience brings order, and through order flowers enlightenment.

-The pure-blooded are harbingers of the pure-minded. Defend all the pure from the barbarity of lesser beasts.

-Scorn those who would detract from the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. They are the vestiges of regression, and decay.

-From logic springs balance, and from emotion, chaos. Revel in the former, and the latter will crumble.

-Stare into the gaping maw of ignorance, and raise your sword. You are the wall that halts the tide of monsters.

We wear masks so that we may hide our shame. Beneath the iron of our crafted faces, our tears well and fall like rain in summer.

There is no pride in our hearts.

There is no joy in ending life.

There is no righteousness in the blade, and the bow.

Our sacrifice is for our people, our city, and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Steadfastness in the face of adversity.

Diligence in the face of ignorance.

Duty above ourselves.

A space at the very bottom of the poster appears to have multiple straight lines ruled down it. It practically begs you to sign your name.

Ulmo Maehr gazes solemnly at the poster, his left hand resting gently on the well-worn pommel of his sword. He sighs softly, a glint in his eyes. A brief glance around shows no sign of Lucion, so he quickly pens his name, in a flowing script of blue ink.

-Ulmo Maehr-

Regretful Scholar of War

A single tear glimmers sorrowfully at the corner of his eye, and faint creases in his face gain a little prominence.

Turning from the poster, his mind adrift, he walks slowly to find Lucion.

Kaelthes Tennallar reads the document with an arched brow. Not much thought is put into his reaction. He had been awaiting his chance to continue defending Haelun'or for years. With a quick hand movement, he signs his name.

"Kaelthes Tennallar. This one wishes to put his extensive knowledge of combat into use once more. The code shall be revered and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya shall be safeguarded with my eternal life. I shall seek you out, or you may seek me."

Liez'Ralin stares at the poster, considering. Kaelthes's suggestion rings true in his head. Dedication to his kin. Liez'Ralin signs his name on it, going off to find Lucion.

Lelien pins a simple note beneath the poster.

"Lelien Aeleyelsa.

Drafted into Elsillumiran."

Telind glances at the poster, reading it very quickly. Telind pauses and thinks to himself for a second and then pulls out some ink and a small quill. He scribbles down his name on the poster.

Telind places the ink and quill back into his pouch and smiles as he walks off.

Aelidar studies the notice, and inhales as he comes to a resolution, stepping forward and taking a quill to the paper.

Elrond reads over the paper carefully. A glint of both hope and sorrow seems to be in his eyes and he signs his name.

"Elrond Lossehelin of Haelun'or."

While Ellsia walks around the high elven forest, she catches a flying poster, and reads until the part where it says "weeping babies". She thinks that is a very fitting name for a bunch of crybabies carrying around butter knives and wooden spoon catapults. She totally removes the part about "New Model X" weapons, knowing dwarven everything in existence is better.

A note is posted within the venerated walls of Haelun'or, for all to see.

"If all applicants would contact Cer'Kaelthes Tennallar, he could assist you in establishing yourself as Elsillumiran. -Tilruir'tir Tennallar."

((Please do contact me via Skype! (rivervalelord) ))

A new note is posted, this time depicting the uniforms of the

Evarir and Tanya'sair. The note instructs you in a fine, golden-rod ink to see Tilruir'tir Tennallar to receive armour, or of course, the revered Okarir'tir, Lucion Sullas.

((Uniforms will be given when requested! This post will include the skins soon!))
