New Cpu And 'server Lag'

Hi guys,

Just two updates today at 12PM  PST (midday) or in about 9 and a half hours the server will be down for an hour or so to upgrade our processor to the latest in the line of the the series we are using this should give us a nice 10% boost of raw CPU for 0$ extra repeat payment.

And in other news I've heard the server has been lagging for people even dropping out? When it does so please do a traceroute on to our server using either mc.lotc.co or ts.lotc.co the command in windows in the command prompt is tracert <address>.

You should then get the something like the following output in windows if you do this correctly.

Please post a picture, pastebin or text copy of the log so I can see where the issue is happening.

Thanks for reading,

Tythus

Im guessing this means the lag we've been getting is going to go down? That is good.

ARGHHH! I WILL NEVER GET FIRST! And yes this is good.

((This is excellent news, really good to hear. Also, for all of my fellow mac users wondering how to do the trace route, do the following. Applications > Utilities > Terminal and from there type in traceroute mc.lotc.co (or the ts ip). Using tracert will NOT work. Hope this helps))

For those of you who are windows users looking for the command prompt, go to your search area for programs and type in "CMD"

This doesn't necessarily mean lag will be any better as an FYI for people who aren't great with this sort of thing. I assume that the CPU usage never goes above 60% on the old CPU due to the fact that Minecraft is horrible at multi threading and can't take advantage of the multiple processor cores. For example, if you had a minecraft server running on a quad-core processor and upgraded to a hex-core processor there would be no difference.

it's the same quadcore just the next generation so it's a little bit faster hopefully something like 10%

I'm excited! We could definetly use some less lag, as it becomes annoying to RP with people who react to you every 2 minutes.

Thank you allmighty Tythus!

>Only wants us to post cmd picture so he can get our IPs.

If you've ever logged into TeamSpeak, Minecraft, or even the website, he already has your IP.

On another note, the command on OS X (and I think GNU/Linux too? I'd have to check whether it works on my laptop) is "traceroute" as opposed to "tracert". It looks a bit like this:

It works the same, but unlike Windows users you can copy-paste from your terminal rather than taking screenshots ;)

If you need to terminate the traceroute early, simply press Ctrl+C.

Alright! Hopefully lag will be much less now...

But if it isn't... I will find you, Tythus... and make you suffer...
