[!] Beneath the World, there where the sun could not smile in its malice and warmth, there where the frigid air pulsed in accordance to the Heart of Winter that laid so deep within the earth itself. A Caretaker of Winter, a Malevolent Spirit of the North, A Frost Witch at last returned to what she considered home after a most successful hunt; Her endless duty achieved, but only for that day; for hers was an eternal one. Whilst enacting a routine maintenance and inspection of her weapons and arms, floating shards of ice shimmering and dancing within the cold air of the darkness where the Witch blissfully basked, she'd take under her care her armour's breastplate; one which had sustained a devastating final blow during that Slain Knight's final moments of struggle before inevitably consumed her, a most mighty and perhaps fatal strike had fate chosen differently that day.. The Fjarriagua continued her work, the hunt would begin anew soon enough.
  2. This still doesn't answer the question of why? Why even give them Voidal Strength to begin with? They do not gain anything of remote enough worth to make it worth and it pretty much flips the entire CA's playstyle on Its head. Being able to "Tolerate" or find ways around it, still acknowledges that it is a handicap one that has no reason to exist to begin with. And of course it and it wont. Frost Mothers have a terrible "theme" that hinges on intentionally attempting to remove their ability to interact with the world outside their lair so that they can become a literal SoL-centric CA that does coven management from their lair (or discord server) and is only mechanically useful in large raids where they can use their big ability (that rends them incapable of fighting for 1 OOC Day when it ends or is disrupted prematurely by anything) or just as a Ritual Battery... For rituals that are pretty much just the barebones life cycle of a Witch (revival, new Witches, New Mothers). They have nothing to offer RP wise, no interesting abilities or mechanics that would allow for interesting scenarios or usages of any hypothetical new abilities that they do not have, just the fanciful position of "Coven Leader" (Despite the fact that every single one of your daughters could beat you up with ease, individually), they are just... so hollow! With all that out of the way, you are 100% right, this will in not "fix" them, but it will make them more tolerable until we make that proper Frost Mother rewrite and actually fix all of these core issues. And I'd rather have a "good enough" amendment rather than a rushed rewrite.

Yeah pretty much that; it's honestly a thousand times easier to have the Mothers build off the already existing playstyle of the Frost Witches rather than give them an entirely different one, with many new spells that you'd need to have balanced, reviewed and tweaked along with new mechanics to make a 5 slot mage actually worth it. In short, at that point you might as well create a new CA, which I wouldn't call a good idea, given the fact that Frost Mothers are the next stage of a Frost Witch rather than a "mage subtype" of sorts. Removing their voidal strength and allowing them to continue making use of their Frost Witch magicks is the right decision given the fact that the CA would be filled with the veterans of the Fjarriagua.

  7. Fjarriagua are not casters like the Naz or Void mages. Their name of "Witches" creates a false image of their actual playstyle and ability set. They are moreso a close/medium range mage/melee hybrid like Scions or well the Azdrazi. With the exception of their "Icey Iron Crossbow" ability, they have no real ranged options with all of their abilities being effective in close range; - Ice Layer: Expands to a total of 6 meters around the witch - Ice Spikes: Has a range of 5/7 Meters - Ice Weapon: You literally summon a melee weapon or shield. - Conjure Hoarfrost: Temporary Enchants your Melee weapon with frostbite inducing effects as well as a 1-time-use projectile that has a range of 10 meters. Add to that that normal Fjarriagua are already capable of wearing full sets of armour and retain their full strength already and that Frost Mothers literally do not gain ANYTHING other than a single snowstorm ability that rends them incapable of even fighting for the rest of the OOC DAY, and something like becoming utterly useless and extremely fragile in melee means that you suddenly cannot even use the vast majority of your own spellbook. Which certainly can burn people out really fast when they can no longer even do anything other than being stuck in their lair.
  8. It's an amendment...! We're just removing the Voidal Strength!! As for their fragile bodies, it's honestly not too big of a deal as long they actually wear some hecking armour and still be able to bodyslam another knight into a field of ice spikes like the average Fjarriagua can. And there are no plans for changing the 5 Magic slots, becoming a Frost Mother is a path of ultimate devotion to one's kin, It is most fitting this way. In either case just giving them more content and flavour other than just the skeleton of what's needed to keep the CA alive would be a good idea to make those 5 slots actually worth it.

Not really, the issues with the Frost Mothers always existed and would continue to exist even if said player had remained and has infact has been attempted to be ammended/rewritten at multiple occasions. Frost Mothers are fundamentally a poorly Written lore piece and always lead to veteran players never wanting to get it and or quickly burn out the players that were forced to get it so that the Fjarriagua don't go extinct. As I said in the purpose section itself, the reason this amendment is happening instead of a much more polished overall rewrite for them (which has been in the works for a while) is due to the fact that there is no properly active Mother left to take on the burden, the CA has been placed in a situation where we need to make a new one.... And obviously nobody wants to because this is infact a terrible CA. TL;DR the issue always existed and will continue on existing until its fixed, the only thing that changed is that we are currently being pressed to fix it ASAP.

Frost Mother Amendment: The Dream Yet to be Realized Part One: Physical Characteristics Old Lore: Proposed New Lore: Part Two: General Redlines Old Lore: Proposed New Lore: PURPOSE: With the loss of the final active Frost Mother that tolerated this CA's countless failings for over two years while all others would instantly burn themselves out after a few months if not weeks. It would be most genuinely urgent that the core (and really sorry for my harsh words) poison of the Frost Mothers be removed; their Voidal Strength and ever-constant incentivization to be reduced to mere glorified TAs and ritual batteries that are forced to give up any speck of antagonist RP that isn't just SoL as a disguised descendant or just tea sipping in one's lair.. I am still aware of the previous attempt to fix this and its feedback and we were attempting a full-on thematic rewrite for them specifically so that any changes wouldn't clash with the CA's current tone of "sacrifice" (to the player's OOC enjoyment) of the Witch in question, but with this recent change, we don't have the time to wait out and I refuse to throw myself or any other of my fellow community members into the meat-grinder of burnouts that this End Game CA is.   13. Seconding this! Other than that, I really do think there's a lot of fun potential in this! :} (Just be sure to let them get all the other fun FAs like Heralds and whatever for extra funsies!!)
  14. Aand yes, these would be both be spot on! As I said, their issue lies in the fact that they are too weak to do anything but disguise spook rp and their status in the lore fully reinforces the fact that there is no reason for them to be strong to begin with. So the best that could honestly be done to change that would be for someone to achieve the awkward and herculean task of unshelving the Siliti and returning the Corcs into their supposed role as basically little silly minions.
  15. This might not be exactly what you were talking about here, but I think it is very important to remember that the "risk" is VASTLY different depending on the Dark CA. A good example would be the Fjarriagua CA's misadventures during the 2~ years I've been within it. In the past; You were a useless dark CA if your focus was on actually murdering, raiding and generally Antagonizing people like a good little spook. Your magic was nerfed to the point of being utterly useless or outright did not work in like 2/3rds of the continent (or 100% of everywhere that people actually RP) and ANY kind of death run the risk of your character being Soft-PKed for possibly weeks, if not months (if not years). This, in turn led to pretty much all Frost Witch operations being heavily focused on being stealthy, your ability to disguise was your ONLY viable tool for any and all spoop RP. Leading to situations that a SINGLE blood test, could undo multiple months (If you ever made it that long) of hard work. Sure, you had infinite potential disguises, but by losing one, you also lose everything you've achieved on said disguise, all connections, all property, all standings with various groups and any manner of titles if you were so lucky. Which in turn lead to the CA suffering heavily when it came to burn out and frustrations Since, the immense risks of being blood tested were staggeringly high - meanwhile - to the person testing you it was literally costing nothing. BUT after the most recent collection of amendment that have since then fixed most of the core issues plauging the CA, thus allowing it to go on proper raids and take proper fun risks outside of disguise RP... This in turn lead to the Risk and Dangers of blood tests, becoming Tiny compared to before. Since now, the entirety of your ability to be a spook and engage with the rest of the server didn't hinge on your ability to hide away at in plain sight. I haven't needed to bother in the slightest about being blood tested in these recent few months, not because it's harder to be exposed, but rather because the disguises themselves have become less intergral to the continuation of any schemes or RP of my character. And with that said; I see the Corcs and I see the same situation; They are so generally weak compared to other CAs that Disguise RP and all that is pretty much all they can do and are thus suffering exponentially more from blood tests than the rest of the Dark CA/MAs.

  18. [!] Beneath the world, there were the Sun's malicious smile does not reach, within the Mother's domain and Winter's Heart. In the depths showered by frost, a Starlit Witch slowly healed her grievous wounds in the 'hallowed' waters of the Witch Altar, an ice-born swarm of arms imbued with her will holding that letter for the Witch to read. Underneath that veil of hers, a most joyous smile was carved across her maw. "Into the South?" It pondered out loud with seeming amusement "...Hmm, then consider this call to action answered." Steadily was her form raised from the waters, specks of ice emanating from her very cloak as she made her way to the world above once more. For they too shall soon know why the world fears Winter's approach.

    Frosted Earth

    As the two forces of a struggle stood there, both participants of a conflict that raged on since time itself begun. A gaping ravine upon the lands, forbidding the continuation of this bloodshed as an ancient cold slowly seeped its way out of its depths and into the air; Like a bleeding wound upon the world itself. And upon one side stood the Eldest of the Daughters of Naele, as she turned to face the the Templars that dared rage against all that their Winter-Born Kin embodied and with an ever-present malice in her heart she spoke her last words to these fortunate defenders "This is not a victory, children of the four. Your hubris has been punished and your pride has been tattered. Gaze upon these Winter-swept ruins, devoured by the very cold and remember what you've felt today, for this is your kind's destiny." Such spoke the voice of the Elder Witch as she begun to withdraw within the deep reaches of the Mother's Storm, vanishing without a trace as it begun to subside.
  20. Has anyone ever tried to sue a god? Like they are properly physical entities that actively meddle with mortal affairs, sounds to me like their are eligible for a lawsuit.
