      Oh right, yeah.
      Mummies are just egyptian necromancers.
      Forgot about that...

  2. On one hand you are correct and I thank you for the feedback! But at the same time, I'd very much rather not add yet another mechanic to the Fjarriagua encouraging them to endlessly murderhobo people. And neither should an entire ability be locked behind one's capabilities to rudely kill people for what is in the end of the day a tool for RP and not an actual weapon. I'll think about how to deal with it
  3. - VOLUME ONE: The Dreamer's Reawakening - Fjarriagua Amendment: Of Cursed Tricks and Tormented Treats Part One: CURSED TRICKS OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: Within the current lore of the CA, Frost Curses possess quite the immensely lackluster and hollow system and mechanics, curses only being something that can be used by someone that your witch has already beaten to an inch of their life, which the lore would usually have you eat them for that 2 week murderhobo quota or for any of the various murderhobo requiring mundane rituals. And with the exclusion of making individuals possible cannibals (If they already OOCly specifically wanted that) despite the fact that it's merely a meat-lovers type of curse and not a actual cannibal curse, all of the current curses are incapable and too scared to impose any actual notable effects that could actually lead to engaging RP for the cursed individual, thus making them virtually worthless and not even worth the effort, for both the witch and the accursed. With that said, this is for the most part copying over all the various curses from the most recent rewrite and as the feedback requested: Making them less overwhelmingly powerful, giving each and every single one of them redlines to properly explain their mechanics as best as I could, as well as giving Greater Hexes their own unique delivery system so that people have a chance to avoid being cursed by a witch 30 meters away from them. Although just to be clear, these are curses not poison attacks, their whole point is the inherent lack of 'physicality'. Part Two: TORMENTED TREATS OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: Tormented cooking on the other hand allowed for more actually impactful curses to be placed on individuals and the allowance for two ingredients per product allowed for some exceedingly fun combinations! Unfortunately, the limiting roster of curses made It rather hard to create anything other than "Cannibal with big teeth" or "Fake Fjarriagua", these new additions (Also from the rewrite) would do more than enough to allow for all sorts of opportunities and fun combinations for all Tormented Cooking enthusiasts! NOW: Regarding the given feedback to Tormented cooking within the rewrite, I disagree with both of them on a fundamental level. . . With all that said, I also went ahead and took the liberty of putting redlines on the different ingredients of tormented cooking as well and also as polishing the thing as a whole. On top of that I cleared up the lore in the beginning as to how the different ingredients are not present within the Tormented cooking itself. CREDITS Writing by Agy (That's me!) Showcased video by Reber Arts Art in order of appearance by: davidwyatt2013 and Gustaf Tenggren Mechanics borrowed by Diogen's Fjarriagua Rewrite CHANGELOG 6/3/2024 Did a big scan of the entire thing with a less melted brain, redlines have been updated and cleared up some mistakes. 8/3/2024 - I've cleaned up and or moved around some redlines to reduce redundancies and multiple instances of the same redline. - Additionally, as commented to ReveredOwl, Tormented cooking will no longer require the witch to murderhobo whole character. This is a purely flavourful and non-combative ability and should not be locked away from the CA's players for no good reason. 28/3/2024 -Made it easier for the effects of cracks to form within Curse of Cracks - Curse of rabidity has become more strict in demanding that a "target" of a feast is chosen as opposed to simply being an optional path to a "meat lovers" curse - Curse of Snowstorms has had its total field of view decreased from 9 meters to 8 in accordance to other similar spells/ability - Curse of Cryostasis has been changed to instead to disabling sprinting as opposed to its prior mismatching version. - Curse of Tranquility has become more strict in its mental effects and they may not be ignored as easily. - Curse of Shuddering has been demoted from Greater to Lesser Hex, as it was for the most part pretty useless combatively, with Curse of Silence being already able to deal with speech-based mages. As such it has been changed to pose no combative effects at all other than plain communication that should not affect them, since the point of the curse is to after all make people stop talking in general.
  4. - VOLUME ONE: The Dreamer's Reawakening - Fjarriagua Amendment: Sabbath of a Witch's Nightmare Part One: THE DARK TETHER OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: A lot of things to keep track of, so: - Made the Cooldown for Altar Creation be its own separate thing as well as only 5 OOC days long Most of an Altar's sabbaths are ESSENTIAL for the continued function of a coven and the CA as a whole, making it impossible to heal or revive any dead witches for a full week after the creation of an Altar, something which would imply that the Coven's previous one has been destroyed in most cases. would place the Fjarriagua in a very dangerous position that may risk the coven or the CA being wiped out in its entirety if unlucky. For the same reasons the cooldown for Altars is lowered to just 5 OOC days, given the fact that a Tier 1 Altar is beyond easy to destroy and could potentially doom the CA should it be the last one and are then forced to wait an entire week without healing or revivals, just to be able to create a new one. - Buffed the passive healing of the Altar into covering all non-fatal wounds as well as making Tier 1 Altars also capable of healing. Most of the reasons behind this will be explained within the changes for Sabbath of Healing, but in short, having it only heal papercuts is ridiculous. Additionally, forcing a Witch to wait for an Altar to reach Tier 2 to be able to heal ANY manner of wounds is a very very weird choice. - Altars can now be created in any region, no matter the climate I believe this will be following a lot of the same reasons from my previous amendment regarding 'Frozen Regions' and follows most of the same points in regards to force the same limitations upon Altars. The Fjarriagua are inherently magical creatures of ice and snow, they are not some odd yet natural fauna that live in already cold environments, rather they are the very heralds and embodiments of winter itself, created by the AENGUL of Winter itself, The Lord of The Deep Cold, they should very much act the part. The existence of Fjarriagua in a desert or a sunny beach IS uncanny, unnatural and weird and that’s precisely the point, because the Fjarriagua are uncanny, unnatural and weird themselves. As such, Altars can and should be boldly created even within areas of incessant heat, which as the very lore states; will turn the immediate area around it into one fit for the witches. - Fixed a typo about the required Witches needed for the creation of an Altar Nothing to add. Part Two: THE SABBATH OF RECLAMATION OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: Continuing on in regards to 'Climates', the Sabbath of Frost may now be also used within Tropical/Hot environments. Same way that Necromancers create undead wastelands of undeath, same way that Infernal Magics can create hellish wastelands of hell, same way that Mystics can create ghostly lands with a lot of ghosts or something. All these examples do not do anything other than allow for the expressive creation of lairs, as well as being “rather unnatural”, same way that having a frozen wasteland in a place where it would boggle all logic for such a thing to exist, is infact not a flaw but actively the point. Thus this should allow for Dessert regions to be affected as well by the ritual, if a PRO wishes to have a snowy wonderland/wasteland within their dessert tile, then It is absolutely their right. Part three: THE SABBATH OF THE VESSEL OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: The current healing system for Frost Witches is an absolute nightmare to deal with, even the LT Amendment that dropped around Autumn only tackled a singular issue of only Mothers being able to heal other witches, as they opted to ignore the core problem of the CA's healing. I want you to properly internalize what it takes to restore a single limb: 3 OOC days of at least four sessions, consisting of NINE well described, multiline emotes. It is quite literally more cost effective for the Fjarriagua to get Soft-PKed and be revived with all her limbs back instead of attempting to heal a single lost limb. I don’t believe there is much to be said. And ontop of all that, having the equivalent of a witch scraping her knee, force an entire other player that has a Fjarriagua CA to get online and patch them up is a terrible mechanic that makes nobody enjoy this CA without providing anything to excuse its existence, not to even mention how much it punishes even the slightest risk-taking for a Dark CA since it means that someone else will be forced to pay for any mistakes you make. The Sabbath is to be used for only the most extreme cases, such as losing ligaments, lesser organs and limbs, with the passive healing of the Altars taking care of everything else. Of which I’ve added feedback given for the same ritual by the LT from the most recent Fjarriagua Rewrite. I have also removed any Ritual cooldown from the Sabbath since, I doubt there exists a way in which one could "spam" loosing then regenerating their limbs. There's after all waiting period for the limbs to be completely regenerated, so I feel that's more than enough and It shouldn't take away from more urgent rituals such as reviving a Witch. Additionally, Frost Mothers are now fully capable of healing themselves on their own of any lost limbs and ligaments etc, It is a small boon but a CA as poor as theirs deserves a thousand times better and this is one small step towards that.. Part four: PROSTHETICS OLD LORE: NEW LORE: PURPOSE: This was some additional feedback given to the Sabbath of Healing within the rewrite, although I opted to place the redline within 'Physical Characteristics' as opposed to the Sabbath itself. CREDITS Writing by Agy (That's me!) Music by Airdorf Games Art by Charles Vess. CHANGELOG 28/3/2024 -Altar Creation Cooldown has been decreased to 5 OOC days instead of 7 OOC days, -Got rid of the specified exception on the Sabbath of Frost from said cooldown; Its requirement of needing PRO/ST consent forbids it from being used to grief or in general be abused, so there's no reason to bloat the mechanics with otherwise needless lines.
  5. What is it like to play as a Sprite Character?

  6. Does there exist any manner of lore for MA/CAs that's basically "We allow the ST to sometimes just mess with our blorpos (Characters) for the fun of it at any time without reasoning"?

    Like the equivalent of Prophesy posts in a way, but perhaps with some tangible effects added on it.

      it's been done for some MArts. for example the zar'akal who plays siegmund can basically be taken over by ST for eventline purposes if they desire but the chances of that happening are slim

      Here is an example of this mechanic applied into a MArt. Even though I’m the perfect ET who can do no wrong, and my cadre of lackeys are almost as competent as me (/j), I think this kind of thing I BAD. Giving a shitter ET with one week on the job a license to **** with one specific group is a recipe for targeted bullying.

      Yes, actually! Veil Watchers have two sets of abilities that would fall under that description. One that notifies them of any disturbances to the Veil be it the opening of closing of tears - traditionally a Player Group thing - and "Major Voidal Events" which is wholly in the realm of ST Discretion.

      Otherwise, through Communication, Greater Horrors are capable of inflicting visions onto Veil-Watchers at any distance - Lesser Horrors can do the same, but require physical contact with the Watcher's head. In addition, a Veil-Watcher can reach outward to attempt to commune with a Horror, though they are not obligated by any means to respond as such is a ST Interaction. Werewolf's current eventline has essentially functioned around the Communication ability, as the Horror rudely skype-calls every Veil Watcher every so often.

      Given the nature of Voidal Horrors, this is the first time I've ever seen this ability used and I thoroughly enjoy it - Communication is the source of a Veil Watchers mental anguish, as Horrors in general tend to inflict hallucinations upon their mind for their own enjoyment, and the induced discomfort it causes. To me it's a neat bit of lore that provides a passive effect on my character, with room for at literally any time a ST to decide a Greater Horror would like to do some trolling.

  8. Everyone already smells like body odor! You are just describing the stinky mages, silly!!
  9. Yeah that kind of thing! When someone connects to their magic, It would be something that makes the air around them flow with the very magic they wield and weave about. Something other than being physically felt as a passing cold wind, or a emanating dreadful heat from them, but also be in the possession of a scent if not a taste (you get the idea)
  10. What does Magic of any kind, or its many (usually morally dubious) power sources smell like? Of course, from what I understand substances like liquid Mana/Lifeforce allow for them to be made physical and tangible, does this mean that they have a taste and or smell? What about the taint of the void? Does ice conjured by a Voidal Mage smell any different by the one wielded and imbued by the magic of a Frost Witch? What about flames? Whether it be of Malflame or Dragonfire, or the Holy Light of Paladins and or Templars. Would a flower be any different to the sense after a Druid has tampered with it? Yes, I woke up like an hour ago. Yes, I am aware of the risk I place upon myself of the consequences of such a controversial post. But nontheless, another will one day ask the same question irp and we will all look like fools when we are without answer, the truth must be revealed! On a more serious note, while an emphasis is put on 'smelling', the rest of the senses are equally interesting. Answering that for example a Demi-Djiinn's magic brings about a certain taste akin to that of the mashed potatoes that your grandparent used to make when you were young...Certainly would change one's view on the magic itself. It's also really good for writing if we are being honest, having your character's own organs be roasted by dragonfire, would be a somewhat visceral experience and I do think discussing what the other senses would pick up other than merely the pain caused by it would always be really freaking interesting. And small show of hands, this entire post is inspired by 'In Stars and Time' which I came around all the way back on December and has probably become one of my favorite stories in recent years. Within It's story whenever a certain magic took effect, a heavy smell of Burnt Sugar was noticed by the protagonist, growing all and more denser, potent and terrible as the story progressed, which I personally found really interesting and unique! Certainly made it feel more personal and memorable of an experience for me personally.. (Good game, go play it, but only after you respond to the post!!)

  12. Honest Question:
    How do people RP Astronomy/Astrology within the server?

    I've really really been wanting to dwell into that and any RP it might potentially give way to, but with the lore not really giving much concrete material to work without the need of any magic, I am not sure where to start...

      Haeseni have a fully fledged astrological table based on the day your character was born, with each astrological sign being one of the Old Gods, the pre-canonist gods of the Haeseni, Raevir and other highlander tribes.

      Just to confirm: yes ST don't want to canonize constellations so you are free to conjure up whatever you want to facilitate astrological RP. Just don't include planets, we don't have planets. :P

  13. That is a lot of accusations for someone clearly exaggerating and straight up lying about details and not giving an actual example, so I am just going to make guesses as to what you are actually referring to. So, this is either about the 'frost witch' that got falsely burned at stake IRP for being a witch despite failing every manner of aurum test done on her. Because they literally were not a witch, since from the moment of being cursed it takes an entire week for one to actually reach tier 1 and to actually be considered a fjarriagua. And then for some reason someone sent a report on said player for "powergaming" failing an aurum test and not melting when burned alive. The being the same player that only got the CA 2 days before said incident, so that was quite the weird coincidence for them to know. In either case, due to the fact that they weren't an actual Fjarriagua according to the lore, they just followed the revival mechanic of you average person, that being 30 minutes. So no revival ritual was needed for them. The one before that would the beheading of my witch done by your Paladin. Which I am assuming is what you are currently wishing to begin speaking about. With that said, that witch was slain within the paladin's holding cell, which according to the current lore all Frost Mothers can sense when one of their kin has been killed and the currently online Frost Mother, was currently in the possession of a captured paladin by the name of Elena, said mother having moments prior sent a letter to your own Paladin to exchange them with said witch currently held hostage by your group. With said paladin of yours then deciding to just kill the witch and thus condemning the other Paladin to a...30 minute revival by monks. Nonetheless, this meant that there was an already gathered Party of atleast 1 Mother (With an item that allows her to lessen the ritual requirements by one witch) and 1 Frost Witch which took part in capturing said Female Paladin who was then instantly killed to revive the slain witch. Following the rules exactly as they were meant to be followed. So no. It is impossible that you "saw all the witches of the coven get on" to revive a single witch. Every time one of the witches requires to be revived the Frost Mother always RPs informing all of the different witches that she alone knew of this, as the lore specifically states. Asking people (or like 1 single person) to get online and meet up in the lair for them to be informed of their slain fellow witch for the preparation on the ritual to happen is in my personal opinion, absolutely no different than every single nation pinging in their discord server that there's a Tavern night happening or there being RP activity in their square. So if you wish to continue down that line of reasoning, please start with that. With all that said, I do agree that the complete lack of a time wait needed to revive a witch from a Soft-PK is rather odd, but at the same time, I think forcing a bunch of other witches go and do some murderhobo RP is annoying and time consuming enough that I assume the current lore used it to excuse said allowance of a quick revival. So if you have an issue with this, its one found with the current lore. Adding a newer system of revival with its own special requirements would be rather fun, ngl. Althought making the revival more punishing than it is in the current lore is a goddamn joke. I have never ever in the entire time I've been part of this community ever seen a Witch be slain in a way that does not Soft-PK them and thus force the entire Coven to scramble around trying to revive them ASAP. This alone has crippled the entire CA's capabilities greatly since the witches cannot even do anything without risking the CA being destroyed if a single raid of theirs goes south. So no. Do not make it harder than the current system. And the removal of needing a fresh female corpse was not done for the convenience of the CA but rather because it encourages straight up murderhoboing, which is ABSOLUTELY NOT fun for anyone involved. The Necro coven for example has on many, many cases allowed many of their captured and raided targets to wander away with their lives so that they can retain the memories of the RP, which unfortunately the Frost Witches can never do because their feeding system, their ritual system and their revival system all require an entire descendant corpse, aka full on murder of said character. So ANY attempts to lessen the amount of this mindless murder is 100% welcomed and would infarct benefit every single person in this server. Of which I am unsure as to why you would wish against. And the latter statement of yours I won't even entertain. This is an amendment, not your personal rant post. I think they meant that in terms of the actual CA dying. Not the group's activity, even if the group falls apart some of the players can just go and do their own thing. With FW, They just cannot survive without a Frost Mother to revive in the event of their death.
  14. [!] Within a home tucked away in a little quite spot within the mountains, with flowers and gardens blooming as the jovial hand of Winter allowed little Spring to come and have its fun for once, within its stone walls sat Lady Formicca, within the comfort of her study room. A hand supporting her head as it laid pressed against her smiling cheek, her mind festering with a rather nostalgic feeling; An old memory from an old home, ones of book reading and writing. One of learning and one of sharing of ideas and concepts. What beautiful thing it was and what a refreshment of the mind it would be to relive once again. Thus did the woman, begin to pen a letter towards this former Baroness.
  15. With any CRP session always lasting around a few hours OOCly, this would mean that you could practically have a never ending vortex of people joining in from both sides to help out. In either case, my guess as to why the rule exists from an IRP perspective is because despite said fights lasting OOCly for hours, irply they would at best simply last less than 5 minutes, you can't exactly find a brawl that lasted around a few minutes if not seconds, and join it an hour after it should've ended. Which I am assuming that this is why the invisibility rule exists to begin with. Like yes, the fight did happen but by the time you arrived and the combat lock was put in place, this mean that the battle has concluded. Nobody lied to your character about there being a fight in the square, it's not like the RP of the battle was voided; It just ended before your character could make It there and the Victor has already left the scene (Or is writhing on the floor with half their limbs missing).
  16. "I would love to have some beetles.." murmured a Formicca within her home tucked away in the corner of the world. Whether or not she meant to kill or keep them as pets, that was not yet decided.
  17. WYRVUN REWRITE!! YEEESS! YEESS! IT GOT WITCHES! IT GOT SKJOLDIER IT GOT GRIEF, REGRET AND SORROW! IT EVEN HAS THE MIRROR SHARDS!!!!

    THANK YOU @Zarsies!!! Luv u :}

  18. Yeah, that's what I mean. That's all you can do anymore. And believe it or not, but most people don't enjoy this being the only kind of interaction they are able to do, or simpler yet, not everyone has an active community or lair to go back to should they be permanently exposed
  19. 2015 Wyrvun lore has been shelved!!! WOOOOOOH!

    Okay where's the rewrite? :}

  20. Honestly that would be absolutely the best way to resolve the issue of Blood Testing without needing to effectively remove it or make certain Dark MA/CAs require entirely different methods of being exposed (which would be fun, ngl. Having a single testing method for all spookies feels a little like a missed opportunity, but that's just me being dumb). In either case, speaking from experience, the main reason why people, tester and testie alike barely ever RP the pain of the test, or never really object to It, is because after like 5th daily Blood Test...you just give up and acknowledge that It's a waste of time OOCly to argue for up to an hour that you are not a darkspawn and that slashing people's hand open is rather "morally dubious" to people wearing a full set of armour and who will cut you down on the spot because they think you are a maneating gnome of Iblees. Back in Almaris for example, before one of my characters ever needed to worry about Blood Tests, they would happen so frequently that it started getting banal, every time you need to enter a city? Blood Test, again and again and no matter what you did or say, nothing would ever change their minds. Like I keep hearing people say that "There are way to avoid being tested" but every single time I've seen someone object to a Blood Test, even in cases were there was no reason for them to be tested to begin with other than random check up, the scenario always ended with them being restrained by 3 different guards and forcefully tested....And when it fails, nobody even says anything and they just let them go without an issue.. I am guessing this should be the part where someone presses charges against the guards, buut let's be honest, good luck finding a lawer good enough that actually manages anything when blood tests in their current form are fully legal by most if not all cities and you'd be called a darkspawn cooperator if you tried to argue against them. You have been saying this a bunch across many different parts of the forum....And honestly what do you feel should be happening to begin with? Like should a dark CA, something that is entirely permanent and irreversible and takes irl months of rigorous RP to attain, be pretty much gutted in its entirety if one person manages to expose them? Should Darkspawn not have said replaceable disguises, would lead to that in the event of them getting exposed they might as well be condemning said End-Game CA character to being shelved or just PKed because from that point on there's no interaction outside their lair other than being a CRP machines as people have already said many times to this. Now, as for this whole Idea that there are "no consequences" to being expose. That is straight up lies, exposing a disguise means that all the contacts, all the work, all the property, power and authority they publicly wielded, as well as all the good standing said individual disguise may have attained...Is washed down the drain, forcing the spooky spookem to start once more from Scratch in their attempts to infiltrate a nation or even to do something as simple as have a house of their own again. Just because you don't get to pretty much PK an entire Dark CA Character because a blood test worked doesn't, mean that the individual hasn't lost anything at all. For some it can mean months worth of subtle RP of attempting to intergrade into a community being erased entirely. And obviously, the creatures that have the ability to replace their disguises like this, are also the ones that are most susceptible to Blood Test or that have easier tells to be exposed, so I think it balances things out.
  21. A figure clad in cloth and veils wandered the furious yet comforting winds of the cold in the north. Her stead having already given in to the whims of the deep cold that permeates this land, this was expected, infact lasting the longest amongst all of them this time. Continuing on without much difficulty, holding a spear akin to a walking stick, the Figure's gaze noticed from afar the peculiar banners, unfamiliar to any she knew, both of allies and enemies. With a tap of her spear's back end against the soft and gentle snow, the cold winds would seem to not even affect her form in the slights as the blizzard raged all around her. With a simple nod the figure left, heading south once more. The kin, need to be informed of the newcomers.
  22. Frost Witches are capable of hiding these lesser quirks of their disguises with the use of Charms, which can be found in one of the Frost Mother's abilities, since she is the one that can create them in current lore. That Frost Witch rewrite was denied, this is the newer and updated version having taken all the feedback. Which is a normal thing that most if not all lore goes through. You kill a witch same way you'd kill a descendant. The only differences would that the method by which they are killed decides how they are revived, should they be killed by normal means they will be automatically revived by the altar of their coven, if they are killed by flames then they will require their fellow witches do the Sabbath of resurrection. Witches as in current lore as well as the Rewrite, are virtually impossible to PK, with the only way to decide such a thing is if the witch dies by suicide, or quite simply is never revived by their fellow frost witches. Vaettr of course being the difference since they have their own system, but you the idea. The method you describe here would be how one would be able to drive the entire CA to extinction. Which yes, that's how one would go about doing it. Although that's easier said than done. And lastly This is how the current lore functions right now (Can be found in the redlines of "Physical appearance") Although, I originally though we were going to remove that in its entirety since people would just....Not give a damn and instantly jump to Deep Wounds and treat It exactly the same as surface wound Blood Tests, as they are already doing. Rather Odd. Ah well who am I to judge
  23. "And remember kids! You are entitled to financial compensation in the event of a failed darkspawn test!" Declared a woman in the streets of Balian, before entering a hysterical fit of laughter at the Sun Cultists getting their just revenge. A smile resting across her aged visage, she murmured "Your flesh is not to be tormented by baseless accusations without consequences..."
  24. I honestly, I absolutely agree with this! In a magic like the Fjarriagua's that has a rather deeply ingrained sense of teamwork between members of a coven, more 'support' based abilities that can be used to help allies, Frost Witch or not, would be nothing BUT a plus!
  25. Now man shall quake in fear! For when the rewrite passes, I shall imbue every single book within every library with the melody of a pipe hitting the floor! Doomed is mankind! For now dawns the age of the Silly Little Witchlings!!!
