  1. Alas, admins are literally immune to forum warnings.
  2. Alex was a great admin to learn under and I think Rilath will be a great admin to be a manager under. Very happy for both of them and can't wait to see what we in Moderation have for the playerbase going forward.
  3. I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.
  4. You forgot: >forum mod hides 5 posts at random @Burnsider
  5. I was a forum moderator during the last rules rewrite, but I fully support a cap on CRP, but it has to be a cap that takes into account the numbers of each side. I would implement a 15-person per side cap. If both sides have at least 15 people, it moves to PvP.
  6. I think it would be helpful to look at this, for a moment, from the Moderator perspective. This was a situation with no easy answer. As the roleplay heated up in Oren and Acre in the hour or so prior to the voided attack on the palace, we quickly realized that there were no real rules for what was currently going on. There were several rules that were close to the current situation, but those rules were rhombuses trying to fit in a square hole. They didn't, in a strict sense, exactly apply (and we try to be strict in rules when dealing with PvP in order for there to be a sense of fairness). Even worse, those rules conflicted with each other. On the one hand, this was clearly an internal conflict (the vassal Acre rebelling against the nation Oren). Should we look towards the Internal Conflict rules which state, quite specifically, that "no allies or mercenaries may be involved?" That seemed the right answer initially, but it also wasn't completely as those rules are meant for a declared war, which had not occurred as of yet. On the other hand, this was clearly a raid (a bunch of outside entities which were admitted allies of the vassal Acre garnered through RP going to attack the nation Oren). Should we look towards the Raid rules for "an attack by five or more players of an outside group on a nation, settlement, or lair?" That seemed the right answer too, except the person who was clearly leading the raid (and made the modreq for it) was not a member of an outside group and was continually trying to add all the members of the raid to the various regions in Oren he had control of in an attempt to make them legit in the eyes of an upcoming Internal Conflict declaration. In the end, absent the current guidance of the moderator admin (who was coming but couldn't yet get on to get the full understanding of what was happening), the moderation managers had to make a decision. We found the whole thing to be extremely suspect, with the raiders seeming to try and sidestep their way past various rules, threading the needle extremely carefully in order to have their cake and eat it too, we managers involved in the conflict chose to let the "raid" go forward in the interest of RP without clear guidance on an exact ruling. When itdontmatta came on, he decided that the instance was too suspect (with about twenty outsiders being added to various sub-regions of Oren in the last week, about half of them in the hour before the raid) to let it continue and voided the encounter. Honestly, looking back on it, I think either decision could have been correct in isolation. However, coupled with the fact that the defenders chose to go the CRP route with approximately 75 people involved, voiding it was by far the less soul draining option for all involved.
  7. Just getting this out of the way before we start. Voicing your frustrations? A-OK. Shouting abuse? Not so much.
  8. This is the only acceptable answer.
  9. I am going to be as eloquent as I can. **** the Auction House. Full Removal.
  10. Alright, back to your bedroom, old man.
  11. "His Holiness must surely realize that this piece of paper is worth nothing. Right? Right?!" The Grandmaster of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr paced back and forth in his quarters, seemingly wearing a divot into the floor. "Canonists will still defend their allies that are attacked, which means Canonists will still be slaughtering Canonists. Just on different dirt." He shook his head and slammed a fist on a nearby table, causing a tankard to clatter to the ground. "Amazing, we didn't save Canonists. We saved their dirt."
  12. Holy Sir David rested his head in his hands as he sat as his desk in the command tent near Vienne. "So many Canonist death already, numbering in the thousands. If only the good people of Balian and Haense would understand that we have full power throughout Oren and the Silver Isle to hunt the lizard men. If only they would choose to join us in this purge instead of slaughtering their own brothers in faith."
  13. VERBUM STULTI DEFENSIVE DEPLOYMENT ORDERS Addressed to the Equestor-Imperators of the Order and the Canonist Princes On the Defense of the Faithful 19th of Godfrey's Triumph, 1880 | 19th of Vzmey & Hyff, 433 E.S. HIS REVEREND EXCELLENCY HOLY SIR DAVID INVITUS, Grandmaster of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr, Custodian of the Faith & the Aurum Shield of Saint Nicolas, does hereby state... The following orders to the officers of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr are placed into immediate effect. To His Excellency, the Manus Dextra, Holy Sir August, you are to lead the Legion of Light into the Kingdom of Oren and establish a camp near Vienne. Send scouts to the towns and manors of the kingdom in case of attacks, so that the Legion can be mobilized to assist in the defense of the Faithful during this war. You are not to initiate any offensive action, but to defend only against attacks against the Faithful. To His Excellency, the Equestor-Venator, Holy Sir Alfred, you are not to deviate from your current mission and you may request any assistance from knights in your preliminary inquiries. To Her Eminence, the Prioress Emeritus of the House of the Nicolites, Matriarch Katerina, I request that you send a contingent of the Nicolites to deploy a field hospital in the Legion of Light camp in Oren to prepare for military and civilian casualties. To His Highness, the Fidei Defensor, Karl III of Haense, I urge you to reconsider this fight against the territory of Oren. The Dwarves' fight against the Orcs may be just due to the slights against them, but there is no more need to assault the Silver Isle and its Canonist defenders in order to drive out any Azdrazi. I implore you to, instead, loan out some members of the Brotherhood to act as auxiliaries in the Legion of Light and come with us as we investigate and purge any Azdrazi from the land, as we are allowed peacefully to by the rulers of that land. I will leave the Knights of the Martyr within the Holy See to defend the Faithful from any raids made due to this war. @GMRO To His Highness, Frederick I of Oren, I humbly request your permission for a temporary camp to be established in your lands to hold a field hospital and baggage train of the Legion of Light, so that they may assist you in the defense of the Faithful. Additionally, I implore you to restrain your forces from any offensive raids against your Canonist brothers in Oren. I am charged with the defense of all faithful and do not wish to split the Legion's strength in half by needing further security in the Holy See. My knights alone should do against any raids from the orcs in those lands. @Lionhz
  14. Holy Sir David, Grandmaster of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr, shook his head. "Oren has already given us the ability to purge the Azdrazi from these lands without spilling Canonist blood. Any further fight of Canonist versus Canonist is madness."
  15. RELATIO INQUISITORIALIS DE PATRE GODERICUS THE INQUISITORIAL REPORT ON FATHER GODERYC Addressed to the Auditor of the Tribunal On the Recent Actions of Father Goderyc in Vienne 3rd of Horen's Calling, 1880 | 3rd of Wzuvar & Byvca, 433 E.S. From HIS REVEREND EXCELLENCY HOLY SIR DAVID INVITUS, Grandmaster of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr, Custodian of the Faith & the Aurum Shield of Saint Nicolas, Inquisitorial Judge Your Eminence, Per your request, I have completed my investigation into the recent actions in Vienne of Father Goderyc, a priest in Vienne. My recommendation is that he reports to you for Confession and Ablution and to convene a council of his superiors to consider whether he is unequal to his tasks as a member of the clergy and the possibility of his defrocking. I will leave it to your discretion on whether an ecclesiastical trial is also warranted. Below is a summary of my investigation. Father Goderyc has a long-time association with, and commands the actions of, a gang of outlaws and ruffians that go by, at various times, the name von Draco or Romstun. The Romstuns, possibly under the direction of Father Goderyc, have been accused of the maiming of a Peer of Oren and the kidnapping of his wife. The Romstuns, again possibly under the direction of Father Goderyc, are participating in protection rackets against the shopkeepers of Karosgrad. Father Goderyc, along with Grace Romstun, assaulted and kidnapped a mute child, Juniper Rose, with deadly weapons for using simple communicative gestures. When confronted on his actions, he claimed that he was 'fixing' a 'defect girl' by the 'judgment of GOD.' This is not the first incident with the Rose girl and Father Goderyc, as His Holiness has previously had to interject in a similar situation. It appears that Father Goderyc continued to defy His Holiness in these actions. Father Goderyc, along with several of the von Draco/Romstuns, have assaulted and attempted to assault visitors to Vienne for not wearing masks during the Plague of Vienne. One such incident was actually witnessed by both myself and His Holiness and the assault was only thwarted once I drew steel against the von Draco/Romstuns. Father Goderyc, under the pseudonym 'Father Slim', posted a public condemnation against the organization of the Church of the Canon and declared the separation of his parish, which he terms 'his Hood', from the Church.
  16. Qizu, I'm sorry. The mostly unchecked abuse you have experienced on this server is one of the reasons why I thought to apply to moderation and its the main reason I have never felt comfortable joining certain communities despite really enjoying their lore. I'm sorry I have not been able to affect change before this drove you from the server. And I'm sorry we didn't get to RP more. Your Azdrazi and our Church were fun foils to each other. Lastly, a general reminder to be respectful of each other. Let's not sink to Qizu's abusers level on his own goodbye thread.
  17. QUESTIO CONTRA KRUGAI SERVOS DRACONIS THE HOLY QUEST AGAINST THE SERVANTS OF THE ARCHDRAKAAR WITHIN THE LANDS OF THE HORDE Addressed to the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr On the War Against the Horde 12th of Sun's Smile, 1879 | 12th of Tov & Yermey, 432 E.S. HIS REVEREND EXCELLENCY HOLY SIR DAVID INVITUS, Grandmaster of the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr, Custodian of the Faith & the Aurum Shield of Saint Nicolas, does hereby state... The Faith Militant of the Church of the Canon, currently organized through the Holy Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr, is hereby called up to serve in battle against the servants of the Archdrakaar that dwell in the lands of the Horde. Know we well, the soldiers of GOD, that the Archdrakaar's minions, known as Azdrazi, have long perverted the faithful among the Sons of Horen to worship the draconic creature, pledging and tying themselves to it against the Laws of the Canon. Know, too, we that Church of the Canon has declared an Inquisition against the followers of Azdromoth in the Declaration of Inquisition, issued on the 18th of Horen's Calling, 1834. The declaration recognizes a need to secure the sanctity and safety for all Canonists, and the Faith Militant has a duty to the protection and safe-keeping of the Canonist faithful, especially against the creatures of darkness and flame. The Order is ordered to mobilize and protect those faithful that will be fighting the Azdrazi, inasmuch as is needed to defend their souls and lives, but are cautioned against battles for pride or temporal gain, nor shall they participate for the transfer of land. The Order is not a sword of Canonist states, but a shield against the Darkness. If such a transfer of lands is inevitable, the Order urges the Canonist Princes involved in this conflict to bring more lands into the realm of the Canon, not the realms of the the followers of the Brathmordakin, for the Order remembers the Sons of Urguan once shouting for joy towards the Archdrakaar in the lands currently in conflict. Additionally, the House of the Nicolites will be ordered to act as healers and missionaries in those acquired lands so that the faith may grow. Ride now and ride well, my Fellows and my Brothers. May you shine as GOD's light, brought to all the dark places of this world. May you be prepared to defend that light when the evil or ignorant strike against it. PRO DEO, PRO CANON!
  18. I have hidden a post in this thread and all posts that quoted it. If your post has disappeared, that's why.
  19. Holy Sir David nodded thoughtfully. "I hear more and more about this man of the cloth daily. He's definitely someone to watch rise through the church."
  20. Holy Sir David shook his head. "This is it. I now hate all art. This has ruined art for me. Good job."
