A senior officer in His Imperial Majesty’s service, Captain Cassius Reine, spurred his horse on in a swift gallop toward the head of the ISA’s supply caravan. All around him were his men and comrades, the men of the Helena Regulars under his command, each of them marching in perfect formation alongside their wagons bound for the dunes of Korvassa — the heart of the daemonic invasion, and the setting for destiny’s showdown between the Empire and its latest foe. The Captain reached the head of the column and slowed, his horse cantering before the foremost cart as he turned to address his men. Sir Cassius’s gaze lingered upon the Orenian troopers, his features giving away a deep sense of pride and accomplishment. With a flourish he drew his sabre and lifted it high, clasping the reins of his horse in the other hand, as he began to address his comrades in a booming voice. “Men and women of the Imperial State Army! We march into great danger, great enough to threaten the very life of this world… OUR world!” The Captain began to ride along the front of the line, sabre raised high, looking into the face of each man he passed as he thundered on. “Many have told us to stand down, to abandon the descendants to their fate. We say NO! We shall not allow Mankind to be overrun. We shall defend this world, and the people in it.” Sir Cassius came to a gradual halt at the center of the vanguard, facing his comrades and allowing a moment of solemn silence before continuing. “Be brave, my comrades, and prepare yourselves — for we shall never retreat, nor cower and allow others to die in our place. You must be prepared not only to fight, but to die so that all of Mankind may prevail. Long live the Emperor, long live the Empire, and LONG LIVE MANKIND!” With that, the Captain turned and pointed his blade south toward their fateful destination, and the Imperial column marched on, filled with righteous zeal and faith in their cause.

____ IMPERIAL UNITY PARADE The 17th of Godfrey’s Triumph (( Friday, July 24th )) ((4 PM EST)) Citizens, peers, and allies of Oren—during these dark and troubling times where unworldly demons gnaw at the fringes of the Empire, we invite you all to attend a glorious parade conducted by the renowned Imperial State Army. The Imperial Unity Parade will be held in honour of those who serve the Empire selflessly and with valor, as well as those loyal citizens who continue to support them in their righteous cause. We shall recognize those who have contributed the most to our state and cherish those who have dedicated themselves to the ISA and to the Imperial Crown. The parade will take place within the city walls, in front of Varoche Hall, at which time His Imperial Excellency, Secretary of War Alren DeNurem, will deliver an address in order to shed light on recent events regarding the war against enemies both known and unknown. In addition, Archchancellor Simon Basrid will be in attendance as a guest speaker. HIM Peter III himself is expected to attend, and may bestow knighthoods or peerages to those who have demonstrated steadfast devotion and leal service to the tapestry of Man. Patriotic citizens who attend will be encouraged to stop by an official on-site recruitment booth, where they can readily enlist in His Imperial Majesty’s forces. All able-bodied citizens and allies in good standing with the law are encouraged to enlist, fight for the glory of Oren, and become eligible for the benefits of an Imperial soldier. In this age of strife and uncertainty, our duty to Mankind and our Imperial sovereign remains paramount. Despite the war we wage against a cowardly and selfish creature in the South, a new front is quickly making itself known. All citizens are called upon to fulfill this duty and aid in holding up the legacy of Exalted Horen, the prophets, and the Imperial state. May God bless our brave soldiers and their struggle against the heathen coalition, and the demons who rain hellfire on us all, may we one day see peace and unity restored to all of humanity and the world.
