  1. DRUZ VE GRAZIE I JOVE VUILLERMOZ BURNS KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Penned by the LORD MARSHAL On this 4th day of Jula and Piov of 412 E.S This journal has been written to document the events that transpired during the Tripartite raid on the Viscounty of Vuillermoz. To be laid upon the desk of His Royal Majesty, King Sigismund III and distributed among the ranks of the Brotherhood. 4th day of Jula and Piov, 412 E.S The Motherland has been largely spared from the horrors of war, save for the slaughter at the Lower Petra. As a GOD-fearing nation beneath the rule of the Fidei Defensor, we have sought not to slay our fellow men, doing so only on the field of battle. The barbaric actions of the Imperials last Saint’s Day have changed this. Two men, brothers under GOD, ripped from the streets of Sedan and hung like common thieves, yet they had committed no crime. They did not seek war, nor trouble. Their blades were not raised against Orenians, and they made no incursion into Imperial lands. On that day, Haeseni blood was deemed reason enough to be put to death in the lands of the Anathema. This injustice shall be dealt with in kind, from this day forth. Thus did a detachment of one-thousand Haeseni march across the southern frontier, accompanied by six hundred Urguanites. Together, as allies, the Tripartite sought justice for our unjustly slain comrades. As they marched through the Viscounty of Vuillermoz they faced little resistance from the townsfolk, and upon them was inflicted no harm in kind. Such is the virtue of man. A dwarf, Kronk Redfist, with naught but his head, bashed the doors of the keep from their hinges, through which the Tripartite stormed inside. As is the case in most vassal states of Philip the Younger, not a soul was to be found. Though, all was not lost for the Tripartite. A ruckus on the roof of the keep alerted them to the presence of a small Orenian garrison, hoping to hide themselves from the justice of the alliance. Finding the way blocked and the Imperials content to cower, the Haeseni and their Urguanite brothers were forced to improvise. Upon taking control of a hot air balloon, the newly-formed Tripartite Aircorps, led most valiantly by Lorenz Darkwood and The man claiming himself as the Sutican Potato Farmer dropped atop the keep, swords drawn. Such a display of courage sent the Imperials scampering into the forests where they were quickly run down by cavalrymen. With the tavern set ablaze and the Viscounty left empty, the Tripartite returned to Karosgrad with an Orenian knight in tow. It should be noted that the chapel was left unmolested, unlike that of Haverlock which the forces of the Anathema so heinously pillaged. Let it be known the Imperial Sir was offered his last rites, a courtesy not shown to our countrymen, and was spared the agony of hanging. As is decreed by our northern honour, he was swiftly beheaded by Dame Tavisha and his corpse returned to his lands for burial. As the hamlet of Vuillermoz burns, know it shall not be the last. JOVE TIZ UZ, His Excellency, Johann Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska
  2. This journal has been written to document the events that transpired during the ranging expedition to the Northern Rimeveld. To be placed upon the desk of Lord Marshal Johann Barclay, by a Initiate of the Brotherhood of St. Karl. 4th day of Joma and Umund, 412 E.S Our detachment of Brotherhood soldiers have just departed Karosgrad, numbering approximately 60, we’ve been tasked by the Lord Marshal to venture down north to investigate the happenings in the northern mining villages, or something like that.. The Marshal couldn’t give us a proper direction, though, so our Commander was merely given a few maps to go by. We’ll manage though.. I hope, at least we got some extra fur. [!] A depiction of a map was drawn crudely below, depicting the Rimeveld with a red-drawn path marked through it. 5th day of Joma and Umund, 412 E.S We’ve made it, now. The village that we were sent to seems to have fallen under an avalanche of sorts, and there only remains the tips of a few buildings. According to some quick scouting, there are no bodies or signs of life anywhere. We’ll set our equipment down and see if we can find a way inside the buildings, hopefully we’re able to find something there. [!] Another crude depiction, this time of a small village, its buildings and what seemed to be a wooden wall buried under snow, with only the tips and top-floors visible. 6th day of Joma and Umund, 412 E.S We checked the houses, the first one seemed to be just a storage, with nothing more than some empty crates and unimportant books there. The larger one - probably meant as a house of sorts - had an entrance through the roof which had given in from all the snow’s weight. Dame Lynette and Ser August went up and tried to get in, but the roof failed and they both fell down. It seemed as if we were followed by some one-armed man. A mage, maybe? He at least had some red orb, and blasted the wall to the building in which the Knights had fallen right open! Could’ve killed the two.. Dame Tavisha confronted him, while the two knights got out of the building, which could’ve collapsed at any moment. We heard some noises then - voices, it seemed - and all hid in the buildings and snow. The site was approached by a group of five bandits, discussing something about trolls and plunder. I think they’ve been here before, and came to finish their job, maybe that's why all the crates were empty. After a moment, they saw one of our Brothers, Maximiliano and attacked. They all died quickly, of course, except for one who managed to escape. I checked if there was anything worthy with the bandits, and found a letter in one of their pockets, nothing more. We’re leaving back to Karosgrad now to report to the Lord Marshal, hopefully we don't need to come back here, but I doubt it. [!] Below was a copy of the letter, written rather hastily. Above the text was an insignia reminding a bull. Below it were a list of what seemed like place names, with a short, crudely copied signature under those. 4. THE PRINCELY COMPROMISE Issued by the HOUSE OF BARCLAY On this 11th day of Deep Cold, 61 SA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ffIxYTYW0 TO THE PEOPLE AND REALMS OF ALMARIS, Since the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Corwin of Sutica, have the Reinmaren of Savoy and Hanseti-Ruska been at odds with each other. Both sides claimed the ancestral title of the Principality of Sutica as theirs. As the larger realms of the Principality of Savoy and the Kongzem of Hanseti-Ruska renewed their bonds of brotherhood before GOD, so too did the Reinmaren assemble once again, to mend the schism within their ranks and set right the legacy of King Georg and Queen Johanna. The terms of the contract shall be as followed, agreed by the signatories; I. His Princely Lordship, Konstanz Barclay, Baron of Sigradz, shall be betrothed to Her Highness, Princess Renata of Savoy, to be united in holy matrimony once both have reached the age of majority. II. Upon marriage, His Princely Lordship, Konstanz Barclay, Baron of Sigradz shall be known as His Princely Lordship, Prince Konstanz of Sutica, Baron of Sigradz. III. Upon marriage, Her Highness, Princess Renata of Savoy and Sutica shall be known as Her Highness, Princess Renata of Savoy and Sutica, Baroness-Consort of Sigradz IV. Following the untimely death of Princess Catherine of Savoy, her claim by inheritance to the Principality of Sutica has been succeeded by Princess Renata of Savoy. Similarly, upon the death or abdication of His Princely Grace, Johann Barclay, his claim to the Principality of Sutica shall be succeeded by His Princely Lordship, Konstanz Barclay, Baron of Sigradz. V. From the matrimony of His Princely Lordship, Konstanz Barclay, Baron of Sigradz and Her Highness, Princess Renata of Savoy, the Sutican title shall pass down to the legitimate offspring of their marriage in lateral succession. VI. The dowry for the bride shall consist of either coin, livestock or other material agreed fit for the Crown of Savoy as compensation, and shall be delivered upon the eve of marriage. SIGNED, His Serene Highness, Lucien I, Prince of Savoy, Duke of Corazon, Count of San Luciano and Sarissa His Exellency, Sir Ulrich Lothar of the House of Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Elected Margrave of Vanderfell and Ninth Vandalore, Lord Regent and Grand Knight of Savoy His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Siegradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg, Chieftain of the Reinmaren Her Princely Grace, Georgina Sofiya Barclay, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska, Princess-Consort of Sutica, Duchess-Consort of Reinmar
  5. "Two times has Karosgrad been raided, two times has it stood tall, not a single enemy entering." Johann Barclay mused to himself, watching the Orenians rout to the Ferrymen keep.
  6. "Krusae Zwy Kongzem! The Alliance yet stands strong!" Cheered the Marshal of Haense, lifting his sword up to the air as the tower burned before the victorious Tripartite forces.
  7. Johann displayed a small smile at the news of the Savoyard Pontiff's enthronement. "Tylos the Second.." he hummed before signing the Hussariyan
  8. Johann Barclay blinked ''Did I sign this? No I didin't - Did I? No, yes- hm.." The Prince squinted to the paper with furrowed brows before waddling off to ask his wife.
  9. WARDZ I VE MARSHAL CADETS OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST. KARL KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the LORD MARSHAL On this 6th day of Vzmey and Hynk of 409 E.S As the youngest generation in Haeseti-Ruska stands on the cusp of adulthood, the Lord Marshal sees it imperative that they receive ample guidance as their elders did before them. Once more does the Motherland face the threat of foreign aggression and as Fidei Defensor, She must as well protect the flock of Canondom. To face the challenges of this new era, the youth must be educated in martial matters, with emphasis on forging skills in leadership and battlefield command. Thus, the Office of the Lord Marshal declares the previously defunct cadet programme to be reformed. It shall be similar to the wardships offered by the Office of the Lord Palatine and the Office of the Justiciar, as opposed to merely a unit of children in the Brotherhood proper. Parents of the Dual-Kingdom, be they of the gentry, the nobility, or of our most esteemed royal blood, may send a letter to the Lord Marshal to enroll their children. Should they be accepted, they shall be placed beneath the tutelage of either the Lord Marshal himself or an Officer of the Brotherhood. SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Sigradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg, Chieftain of the Reinmaren
  10. A PACT OF LORDS Issued by the HOUSES OF BARCLAY AND LUDOVAR On this 9th day of Msitza and Dargund, 408 E.S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ffIxYTYW0 In these turbulent times, true brotherhood and unison is a rare thing to be found, even amongst the men and women who fight and bleed together for a common purpose. Yet, the Houses of Barclay and Ludovar have for long shared this bond of brotherhood, first cemented by the marriage of Baron of Otistadt, Robert Ludovar to Adele Barclay, then tested by the weight of the Ducal Union which pressed against both our Houses, to the most recent union of Emil Barclay and Katelyn Ludovar. Thus do these Brothers, before GOD cement their union, and agree to the following; I. Both Houses pledge to support each other economically and materialistically, according to the other’s needs. II. Both Houses pledge to, in a show of camaraderie and brotherhood, attend each other's events to the best of their capability. III. Both Houses pledge to support the other politically in matters such as The Royal Duma with all their power, as long as they’re informed and agreed beforehand. IV. Both Houses pledge to never join or conspire with a coalition, union or a faction with the intent of bringing harm, or striking down the other. SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Siegradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg, Chieftain of the Reinmaren His Excellency, Johann Ludovar, High Justiciar of Hanseti-Ruska, Baron of Otistadt, Lord of Kazstadt
  11. "Dont worry dear, I bought this for this very moment!" The Duke grinned widely while displaying the 1000 mina outfit to his daughter.
  12. The Marshal of Haense let out an inaudible grunt in response to the soldier who came to deliver the news of the Field Marshal's found body. For a moment, the man stood silently next to the Orenian fortification with his Hussariyan cross in his hand. Then, with a deep sigh, he turned to return to his Brothers.
  13. Johann Barclay snorted at the paper, before beginning to frown and wonder..
  14. OATHING OF A NEW CHIEF c. 406 ES A meeting of the Reinmaren in the Wilhelburg Keep. To the citizens of Hanseti-Ruska and honourable invitees below, It has been a time of good fortune for the House of Barclay As war grips the nations of man, the Duchy of Reinmar continues to prosper, despite the occasional Orenian incursion. Under the guidance of His Princely Grace, the House of Barclay has continued not only to maintain control of its holdings, but rise to new heights in the wake of what will surely be remembered as a most tumultuous period in the history of the House. Pressured by a Ducal Union, which excluded the Reinmaren, the Crown was persuaded to strip our proud House of our rightful Ducal title, reducing sits holdings to a mere county. Many believed these misfortunes would only continue with the reign of Duke Johann, a man whose reign they hoped would bring only further stagnation to the Reinmaren. To the dismay of our detractors, the House of Barclay has emerged to take its rightful place at the forefront of Haeseni politics once more. It has spread to the distant Principality of Savoy, with the founding of the County of Freimark, and His Princely Grace has retaken the mantle of Lord Marshal to the King of Haense. This change of fortunes, with His Majesty seeing fit to restore the Duchy of Reinmar, the continued good health of the next Baron von Sigradz, and a prosperous reign of twenty-three years has spurred His Princely Grace to celebrate. He seeks not to host a simple feast, but a long-awaited traditional festival of the Reinmaren; the Oath of Macken. 16TH OF WZUVAR AND BYVCA I. THE MELEE All able-bodied men in attendance, unless they should protest, shall make their way to the tourney grounds at Wilheburg. There, they will be given blunted weapons and shall engage in a free-for-all battle. The second last man standing will be afforded a purse of 50 minae, while the victor of the bout will receive a purse of 150 minae. II. RELAY RACE Following the melee, a race consisting of two parts shall be held. Firstly, the participants will be sorted into teams of two, who will then choose a man between them to start. He who starts will complete a difficult track on horseback around Karosgrad before arriving at the docks of Reinmark. Once there, his teammate will set off on another track of similar difficulty, though he will be riding in a boat. The team which finishes both tracks first will win a purse of 400 minae, to be split evenly between them. III. JOUSTING TOURNAMENT The first day will conclude with a tournament of jousting. Lancers will be given slower horses to ensure a more interesting competition. The last man still on the back of his horse shall be titled the Champion on Reinmar and shall receive a purse of 200 minae. 16TH OF JULA AND PIOV I. DUCAL BAPTISM Before the Oath of Macken, the prospective Chieftain of the Reinmaren, per tradition, will be baptized under the eyes of GOD in the Chapel of St. Tylos. After the baptism of His Princely Grace, the children of the Ducal couple - including the heir to the Duchy, the Baron von Sigradz - shall also be baptized. II. OATH OF MACKEN After the baptisms have been undertaken, the ancient Reinmaren festival, the Oath of Macken, shall begin. The new Chieftain of the Reinmaren shall be selected and affirmed by representatives of the Reinmaren tribsemen during this event steeped in tradition. III. CELEBRATORY FEAST To conclude the festivities, a grand feast shall be held in the halls of Wilheburg. In addition to food, drink and general merriment, guests can expect a number of games and activities to partake in. These may include various drinking games, as well as games of chance. FORMAL INVITATIONS ARE SENT TO THE FOLLOWING: His Royal Majesty, Sigismund III Barbanov, King of Hanseti-Ruska and his noble pedigree His Grace, Eirik Baruch, Duke of Valwyck and his noble pedigree His Grace, Rhys var Ruthern, Duke of Vidaus and his noble pedigree The Right Honorable, Vladrick Kortrevich, Count of Jerovitz and his noble pedigree The Honorable, Aleksandr Amador, Viscount of Aurveldt and his noble pedigree His Lordship, Robert Ludovar, Baron of Otistadt and his noble pedigree His Lordship, Sigmar Mondblume, Baron of Richtenburg and his noble pedigree His Royal Highness, Otto Morovar, Baron of Ghaestenwald and his noble pedigree Her Royal Highness, Catherine Barclay, Countess of Sarissa and her noble pedigree His Excellency, Ulrich von Alstreim, Landgrave of Alstreim and his noble pedigree The Right Honourable, Jurgen Barclay, Count of Freimark and his noble pedigree SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Sigradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg Her Princely Grace, Georgina Sofiya Barclay, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska, Princess-Consort of Sutica, Duchess-Consort of Reinmar
  15. IN BETTER FAITH Upon the eve of this Vzmey and Hyff Our Kongzem received missives informing her government about an abnormal capturing of a soldier of the Brotherhood of St. Karl by the name Emil Barclay - done by the hands of the unholy terrorist organization ‘The Mercatorii’. Contained in the missive named ‘A MESSAGE TO HAENSE - In Good Faith’ the Terrorist Organization demanded that Haense back down from their stance in the war or else the Brotherhood soldier would lose his head. Too did they mention in their missive that should Haense not follow orders the soldier would be stripped of his Canonist Rites. Of course, we do not negotiate with terrorists. Swiftly did the detachment of Tripartite forces jump to the aid of the Canonist man, a 2000 person rally marched up the footsteps of New Esbec where a mere 500 terrorists were said to hold the captive. It was described as ‘a whimper’ coming from the force who had first in cowardice released the prisoner, before surrendering themselves over to the tripartite force. They then continued to the Royal Capital of Karosgrad to undergo fair and sure trials. Let this be a reminder to the realm that The Kongzem does not take matters from Unholy Terrorists lightly. Two of them were swiftly executed, given their Canonist Rites and burial. We do hope the Holy Orenian Empire shall change its ways and disavow that of their ‘allies’. SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Sigradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg
  16. "How could the Fidei Defensor do this.." Johann Barclay muttered in terror at the missive.
  17. THE DUCAL EDICT OF 404 ES Issued by the DUKE OF REINMAR Written and skinned by @MadOne https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZquDW-b1A7g INTRODUCTION As time progressed, from the time of Freising to the time of Reinmar, the lone horseman on the heraldry of Freising has changed and moulded into something anew - the same shield now holding a further amount of titles, honours and grants, connecting itself to the different branches of the Barclay lineage. Thus, I, the Duke of Reinmar have elected to establish the official position of the Reinmaren Herald within our Duchy, keeping in mind the necessities of regulation for our heraldry from now on, the importance of ceremonial occasions to tie us back to our roots and the increasing importance of reliable communication over bird-sending. THE HERALDS Within the Duchy of Reinmar, we establish there shall be two heralds in the employ of his Princely Grace at all times, chosen at his discretion. One of these Heralds shall be considered a Senior Herald, at the direct employ of the Duke, and one shall be considered a Junior Herald, at the employ of the Baron von Sigradz, for their role directly correlates with the tenure of these officeholders, and plays a role in the transition of power during the Oath of Macken. We further establish the uniforms of these new offices - the Senior Herald shall wear the white heraldic uniform, while the Junior Herald shall wear the blue heraldic uniform in all but military contexts. THE SENIOR HERALD THE JUNIOR HERALD DUTIES OF THE HERALD We establish the duties of the herald as follows; To play a key ceremonial role within the Reinmaren rites of our tradition. To compose, catalogue and regulate the heraldic conventions of the Reinmaren households, through establishing and revising Reinmaren heraldic conventions. To announce new edicts, publications and missives of Ducal and Royal capacity. To announce the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Reinmar, with the aid of musical instruments and ceremonial contexts. To facilitate the transfer of arms between the Duke and Baron during succession. To award Reinmaren nobility their personal arms when earned. To safeguard and study the Ducal seal. To confirm or deny cases of forgery through examination of heraldic elements and the seal. To deliver messages of the Duke in person. To chronicle, catalogue and publish the history of the Reinmaren houses. To regulate Reinmaren ceremonial proceedings. To referee the duels, tournaments and battles of Reinmaren houses. To bear the arms of Reinmar upon their person. THE PREROGATIVES OF THE HERALD A guarantee of safe passage by the Duke as a messager. The privilege of keeping the Ducal seal. The privilege of wearing the uniform of honour. The privilege of deciding a victor in an internal feud. The mandate to accept or deny any heraldic arms of Reinmaren nobility and gentry through Reinmaren heraldic conventions. It is the wish of the Duke to revitalise elements of Waldenian and Reinmaren culture - the conventions of the Herald being a stepping stone in that process. With this establishment, we hope that new horizons can be opened up in the institutional elements of keeping a noble pedigree, while engaging in our ancient customs and cultural elements. SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Duke of Reinmar, Prince of Sutica, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Siegradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg.
  18. ''Honorable men are rare, these days.." Johann Barclay muttered to himself before lifting his gaze from the missive to the lined up soldiers of the Brotherhood.
  19. ''And you'll never subjugate us again." The Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska mused to himself while gazing upon the marching banners of the Brotherhood of St. Karl "We'll see how many more days your vision of a united humanity gets to witness."
  20. The Marshal of Haense sharpened his dwarven-made blade with a smile.
  21. The Marshal of Haense glanced at the missive. Despite everything that had transpired in regards to his family, Johann Barclay did not smile. Instead, the man placed the missive away, and returned to training the ever increasing number of Initiates flocking under the banners of the Brotherhood of St. Karl.
  22. Issued by the LORD MARSHAL OF HANSETI-RUSKA On this 14th day of Joma and Umund of 403 ES Thirty years have passed since the third rendition of the Brotherhood of St. Karl. We have stood guard over the realms of Hanseti-Ruska, unfaltering and unwavering, ready to be mobilized at any flicker of the hours of evil. These thirty years of peace and prosperity have served Mother Ruska and Lady Haense well, as the coastlines of the North have seen no invasion, and the city of Karosgrad under no peril. Though the tides of time are to inevitably change, and the minacious shadow of war strikes the skies, looming over the good canonist realm in the north. These times are most certainly indefinite, as those who dwell in the south bicker amongst themselves, over false Pontiffs and Emperors. Now we, the Defenders of Faith have and always will stand loyal to GOD, Koeng and Country. It is now that we call to you faithful, as much as we call to every loyal Haeseni citizen to bear your duties to GOD and the Koeng. Stand with the Brotherhood of St. Karl in the defence of what is true and righteous, stand in the defence of our home and the stability of the entire continent, and stand so that those of our future may walk. It is the duty of every Haeseni man or woman to fight and die for what is truly us, as we have done for hundreds of years, and the next century to come. Push shall not come to shove, and no man or woman shall falter. Stand with GOD Stand with the King Stand with Haense Enlist in the Brotherhood of St. Karl SIGNED, His Excellency, Johann Erich Barclay, Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen, Baron of Sigradz and Freising, Lord of Wilheburg and Freisburg [OOC] For enlistment, message Frymark#3075 or find Johann Barclay in game!
  23. Johann Barclay walked through the halls of Wilheburg, before coming to a halt next to the statues of the previous Patriarchs. Baron Wilheim, Duke Erwin, Duke Manfred, Duke Friedrich, Duke Erich. The Marshal took in a deep breath with a mumble as his eyes met the judging gaze of the statues 'I've made you proud, now.' The Marshal of Haense and Duke of Reinmar displayed a genuine smile at the statues, before walking off to continue doing his duty to Haense.
