  1. Charlotte was sitting, smoking her pipe when Ingrid walked in. It had been some time since Sosina had come to join her in the Seven Skies, but she couldn't help but break into a smile upon seeing Ingrid. "Well done my dear, come join me. We have a lot of catching up to do." A voice in the wind spoke "Tell Ingrid I love her." It floated past Reinmar and hopefully up to Ingrid in the Seven Skies.
  2. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris had spent her years away from Surgeon General reflecting on what brought her to her current position. She was safe for the most part. She doesn’t leave the manor often as she used to nor does she have a reason to. Her husband of over sixty years still came home even as she fretted each day he put on his armor to defend their new home. Her eldest, the twins who were now full adults, were out experiencing the world without their over-worrying haelun looking over them. The younger two had kept to the manor and the surrounding wilderness, which helped her some, but she knew eventually they will want to learn more, just as she had. But for now, they were safe. There was something eating at her, and it started when they had left the Silver State. Left is a loose term, they fled before they would inevitably face the same punishment that all who spoke out against the Diarchy. When she was younger, she had just returned to the Silver State when the republic had just been founded but the shadows of the diarchy still loomed over them. The Sillumir were still feared for being the nameless, faceless blade wielded by the government. But that changed as the Republic caught its stride. Aestenia still longs for the glory days of the Republic, when all else was simpler. Granted there was the looming threat of Inferni and the Pact of the Titan* was still in effect, but there was a sort of peace within the city. She was just the bar keep, married to a Sillumir, with two small oem’iian of her own and two wards under their care. Their dream had always been to achieve the coveted title of a Talonni, and by the end of the Republic they were close, even attended a meeting that put them in the running for it, but then the world they had known went up in flames (quite literally as their home on the mountain was swallowed in lava). Even as the Republic wound down as they had resettled on Almaris, there was still a comfort that was held. There was no reason to see outside of the white walls that guarded the city, just on the rare occasion to visit dear friends, much like how now, there is no reason to leave her home. Upon the Diarchy’s rise to power yet again, Aestenia knew it was time to flee her home. She had never been the one to keep quiet about things she thinks is wrong, despite the trouble it caused her and her family. But when it came down to it, she turned to her husband and they packed away the manor they had so longed for, and moved to Haense, where she had friends that could help. There Aevaris’ fell into a normal step with the other citizens, keeping their head down out of fear of being hunted. But then they rose, Surgeon General before her stepping down and Lieutenant for him. They got their new manor out away from the city, but the fear was still there, especially when it became clear something was brewing. The first waves started to hit when the extradition clause was added to the treaty between Haense and the Silver State. Her youngest had been born in Karosgrad and she was not about to let him get taken back there, so he was hidden for the first ten years of his life. Even then, out of the four oem’iian she had, she made sure to have him never say where he was born. It was one thing to be an ‘aheral living outside of the city, but to be an ‘aheral born outside of the city was something else altogether. Even as things had calmed down, an uneasy peace settled across the city, she still couldn’t help but fall back into the practice of looking over her shoulder. She had to watch one of her own kind be tortured as she was asked, well ordered would be better suited here, to keep him alive. She left as the soldier said he was going to cut his ears off. All at once she was that young trusting bar keep when the White Rose had terrorized Mali all over the realm. She would not stand to watch such barbarity. It was then she had realized what had happened. Over the course of living amongst the vallah she thought she cared for, that care was starting to run dry. Most of her friends that she had moved to Haense to be with and to help her family with the transition were now dead or getting close to dying. Really it was just the oem’iian she came to see as her own that were left, but she wasn’t ready to start dealing with their deaths. Especially after the first one. “I think it’s time we rest dear, we’ve done enough for this century. Maybe in a century we’ll be back around.” She sighs from their shared office. Ellisar had once again been working on some design as she looked up from her desk, the ever present un-tipable ink well he had gifted her while they were courting was almost empty from putting almost everything to paper. “I’d like that. We’ve been wanting to become farmers anyways.” She smiled. For once they wouldn’t be in harm's way. No inferni, mages, or lizard people to fight with. No trolls or soup demons coming through to destroy everything. No bars to tend or patrols to go on. They were finally just Aestenia and Ellisar, retired to Siollin for the time being. But don’t worry, should anything happen, they will raise their weapons and medical tools to lend a hand. [!] There would be a few letters below, only for those that the letter is meant for OOC: I’ve had Aestenia for over a year now and now speaking with Johnny (who’s had Ellisar for nearly the same time), we’ve come to the realization that they’ve hit their peak for now. Don’t worry, Aestenia and Ellisar will still be around, they’re both just shelved for the time being as we focus on other things.
  3. Anna d'Arkent sunk into her couch once she read the news. A long time friend, mentor, and paternal figure had gone to the seven skies. A few tears did spring forward, but more it was what she muttered to herself "Please, please be okay. I will miss you greatly and you shall be the last. I think perhaps it is time..." She would wait of course, until she was a little better mentally, but eventually it would happen, she just wished Alfred could've seen it.
  4. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris had gotten a letter, keeping to her home as she had after leaving Surgeon General, and her face fell. Yet another reason to keep going into the city just left. "Just promise me you will stay safe my dear."
  5. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris had just retired her white mourning clothes when the notice came through. She had only recently started to call him Cedric, not wanting to get close to another valah doomed to die before her, but she did and with each new streak in her hair her heart broke just that much more. "Housemage Barclay, you better be fine up there, especially with the rest of your family, or so help me Larihei I will personally make you smell bad.." She tries to joke, one shared over the countless times she had to heal him, but it just fell hollow like missing a friend to share the joke with.
  6. Doctor Aestenia Aevaris was at her manor out in the Attenlund when the letter arrived. Larihei's grace, she wasn't ready for the context. She collapsed on the floor, tears streaming from her face. She remembered little Revas, the same age as her own dear twins, running about New Reza, usually chasing someone or running from some sort of trouble. Before her eyes, she had become her right hand. She had become like another child, Aestenia did have that habit of adopting children that weren't her own, and she had hoped that Revas would continue to grow and be there for her own darling little one. But just like another dear daughter, she was cut short. As another stripe of white hair joined the others, right near Marie's strip, but this one hurt unlike the others. This would be the first mali she had in her life that she would have to watch be buried before her. And that's what haunted her the most. Anna d'Arkent froze when she received the news. She had decided to go to where her adoptive mother was for a visit when she got the notice. "I'm sorry dear sister, please rest easy now." There was much that was left unsaid, perhaps when Anna built up the courage to do so, she will visit Revas' grave with a bottle of alcohol. Aela Asul'onn was in the forest. She saw the letter with the flask and coat, and she ran. She ran to the place where she felt most at home. She screamed and cried. How could this happen to her older sister. How could this happen to the one that was supposed to start her training along with everyone else. Who was supposed to be there when she picked up the family profession. She sat still, and she prayed. She prayed that her sister was happy and that somehow this message will get through: "Lari'onn, Please be okay. I miss you but I want you to be happy. I'll pick up where you left off. Your lari'onn, ~Aela"
  7. Charlotte Baruch had spent most of her time since her own passing catching up with family long since passed. Being surrounded by family and friends she had lost along the way, she realized the final piece save her children had just showed up. Ro had shown up and Charlotte stood, pipe ever present in her hand "So you're done causing drama then? Welcome home Sister, try not to mess up anything here okay?" She jokes as she holds out her arms, welcoming her sister home for the final time.
  8. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris had thought she was ready for when the next generation of lliran she had would start passing before her. She was wrong. The pain she felt would only grow, she knew it. It was always hard to bury a llir, but one cut down this short, it hurt more. She would be there for her llir as they bury their daughter and wife, but yet another streak of white would join her hair, in memory of the brave knight that loved her adoptive son.
  9. The Surgeon General’s Farwell [!] A letter would be posted on the front of St. Amyas Hospital, the HRA barracks, and delivered to the Aulic Chambers To all it concerns, It pains me to write this, but I must leave my position as Surgeon General of Hanseti-Ruska. I have served this kingdom since before being a citizen and have continued through fleeing my home and finding a new one. I had worked under three Surgeon Generals prior to taking this position and each taught me something. Darinn, while flawed in his practices, taught me to be stubborn with my work. Eleanor, a dear friend and gifted doctor, taught me what it is truly like to heal under fire and when to step away when it has been enough. Renae taught me that while Surgeon General is a solitary position, I can rely on those working with me when I need them most. It is with these lessons in mind that pass on the title of Surgeon General to one of my staff. With this plague and everything else, I can not in good faith continue here, it has become too much and I do wish to step away before it consumes me To my Staff: I could not ask for a better medical staff to work with. To have people I trust and who know what they are doing even when everything seems to be going to hell. I ask you to keep strong in what I've taught you and to not let the clinic fall to the wayside as I step away. You will have to decide which of you three can take over once I’ve left, but I know you will succeed. Good luck to whoever takes over next and be strong in surviving everything else. To the HRA: For the love of everything still holy in this infernal realm, do not cause issues for the next Surgeon General. Though the troll war is for the most part over, there are still injuries that are common even during your daily trainings and patrols that will keep the clinic and the staff busy, do not add to it. Also don’t give Stefan a hard time, we’re still working on getting more combat medics so that all of you can better serve the kingdom. Even after all the headaches and mountains of paperwork, it was an honor to work with you. To the Aulic Council: While I can not fully say it has been a complete joy working with all of you, I thank you for allowing me to do most of my work unimpeded. I must also ask that you do not further interfere with the clinic until it becomes absolutely necessary. My staff are good people and will continue to do their work so long as they aren’t bothered. But after that, I just hope the clinic will survive. This is goodbye for now, Dr. Aestenia Aevaris Former Surgeon General of Hanseti-Ruska P.S. I am leaving because there is only so much you can do before you are broken.
  10. Clove would change the sign outside of her house back to just "Clove" now that her roommate had gotten himself killed.
  11. Positions in the Hospital of St. Amyas The Hospital of St. Amyas is in charge of keeping all citizens of Hanseti-Ruska alive and healthy through the practice of medicine. In times of peace the hospital acts to keep the citizens healthy and in times of war or other such conflicts, the hospital aids the Haeseni Royal Army as Field doctors and Combat medics. Surgeon General: The Surgeon General is the practitioner in charge of the hospital and all of the medics in both the hospital staff and the HRA. They are in charge of training apprentices, giving orders to field doctors and combat medics, giving the licensing exams, and keeping the hospital orderly among other day to day tasks. Assistant Surgeon General: The Assistant Surgeon General is the second-in-command to the Surgeon General and acts as the Surgeon General when they are not currently present or are unable to practice. Their main concern is training apprentices for the licensing exams along with their general medical duties. Practitioner: Practitioners are the general medics that have passed the licensing exam. There are three types of Practitioner: General, Field Doctor, and Combat Medic. General Practitioners do not go into battles and remain at the clinic, often focusing on a different branch. Field Doctors are medics that go into battle but remain behind the front lines as an on site medic. Combat Medics are HRA soldiers trained in both medicine and combat and are the ones in the fray of fighting, pulling out those who need medical attention. Alchemist: Alchemists are staff of the clinic that have passed a specialized licensing exam in order to practice medical alchemy, produce concoctions in the hospital lab, and continue studying the science for the betterment of the hospital and its patients. Botanist: Botanists are staff of the clinic that have passed a specialized licensing exam in order to create salves and other supplies needed in the clinic. While often working with the Alchemists, Botanists need only a knowledge of herbs and their medical properties. Auxiliary Medic: Auxiliary Medics are practitioners verified by the Surgeon General but do not live and or operate out of the Kingdom. They are the reserve medics called in when a large battle or otherwise large event requires more people that have been trained in medicine to come in. Their specialties can include: Mental trauma, alchemy, botany, general practice, combat focus and more. There is a specialty clause to this role: in the event of a massive HRA event and the staff is overwhelmed, any medically trained HRA member becomes a temporary Auxiliary Medic. Apprentice: Apprentices are medics in training under either the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General. While they may assist in helping heal, they are not allowed to heal on their own until they pass the licensing exam, are not allowed to enter the morgue unsupervised, and must complete the training before taking the licensing exam. This includes: running and maintaining the hospital, educating all apprentices and practitioners in the ways of medicine, and assisting in HRA operations as either a combat medic or a field doctor. Assistant Surgeon General: The second in command to the Surgeon General and appointed by the Surgeon General. Their duties are to educate practitioners and apprentices while acting as the Surgeon General while they are not currently present. Practitioner: A medic that has completed the training and passed the exam given by the clinic management. They may practice medicine within the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and accompany the HRA on operations where the medic corps is required. Apprentice: A medic that HAS NOT completed the training and HAS NOT passed the exam given by the clinic management. They are allowed to assist in cases to gain theoretical and practical knowledge, but they must be supervised by a full practitioner or higher. An Apprentice may not perform surgeries, autopsies, enter the morgue or discharge a patient without the supervision of a licensed practitioner or higher unless it is life threatening and no licensed practitioner or higher can be found. If a patient gets severely crippled, wounded, or dies due to the treatment given by an apprentice, not from the injuries the patient sought the clinic help for, the apprentice will be held liable if there were no licensed practitioner supervising them. Auxiliary Medical Personnel: A medic that does not reside in the Kingdom and has been verified by the Surgeon General in order to practice medicine in the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. The branches include but are not limited to: Auxiliary general practitioner, Auxiliary combat medic, Auxiliary field doctor, Therapist, Alchemist, Botanist, so on and so forth. On Defining Medical Terminology: Medic: Any practitioner or higher with proper licensing. Combat Medic: A medic trained to fight and treat the wounded while in a battle setting. In order to be a full Combat Medic, one must have licensing from the Hospital and be at least a Footman in the HRA. Field Doctor: A medic trained to work in Field Hospitals and other mobile healing centers behind the front lines of battle. They must have licensing from the Hospital but they do not need to be an active member of the HRA. Alchemist: A person with the knowledge of the science of Alchemy. Autopsy: A study of a dead being for the purposes of determining a cause of death or furthering an education of the personnel of the hospital. Invasive: An autopsy where the cadaver is cut open for one of two purposes: to determine cause of death when a non-invasive autopsy is unable to do so or to provide further knowledge of the body to the Hospital staff. Non-Invasive: An autopsy where the corpse is not cut open for the purpose of determining the cause of death. The corpse must remain intact till the next of kin or state is able to come collect said corpse. Cadaver: A deceased body meant for to be studied for furthering the education of the Hospital staff. Corpse: A deceased body stored in the morgue until the next of kin or state come to collect said body for funeral rites. Clinical Trespassing: When a person not injured or a part of hospital staff is interfering with hospital operations. There is one exception: When the HRA is injured and out number the clinic staff, those with medical training become temporary hospital staff. On The Medical Licensing Process: Obtaining the Medical Exam: The Apprentice wishing to become a full practitioner must fully complete their training under the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General. A Practitioner may assist in lessons but these will not count towards the required amount. The Written Medical Exam: Once the Apprentice has completed the training and has gotten the approval of the Surgeon General, they may then take the written exam. This exam will cover hospital policy and procedure while also covering theoretical events where medical knowledge is needed to make the call. The Practical Medical Exam: After the Apprentice has passed the written exam, a practical exam will be given on a cadaver. The Surgeon General will injure the cadaver and instruct the Apprentice in question to heal the cadaver to the best of their ability. This is to demonstrate all the practical skills needed to be an actively practicing practitioner. Licensing: Once the Apprentice has passed above mentioned points, they are then qualified for a medical license to practice in the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska Should any Apprentice practice without obtaining a license, they are liable for all injuries caused and will be brought before the court for malpractice. Should any Practitioner or Auxiliary Personnel practice without a license or have gotten their license revoked, they will be banned from practicing medicine within the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and if caught will be brought before the court for malpractice. Should the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General lose their license, they will be stripped of their position, banned from practice, and brought before the court for malpractice and gross incompetence. On Patient Care: Practitioners may refuse to treat a patient. Only the Koeng or the Lord Palatine may overrule this unless at least one of, but not limited to one, the below mentioned conditions are met: They are a Non-descendant creature Have a bad history with the medic in question Have assaulted (verbally or physically) the medic in question Have disregarded previous orders from a practitioner or higher If the patient gets severely crippled, wounded, or dies due to the practitioner refusing to treat the patient, the practitioner cannot be held liable if the patient falls under any of the above mentioned categories. Patients may refuse treatment so long as they are fully conscious when the attending medic arrives. Only the Koeng or the Lord Palatine may overrule this should they or the Surgeon General informing them deem it necessary Another descendant or next of kin may NOT refuse on behalf of the patient if said patient is unconscious On Morgue Procedures: Entry into the Morgue shall be restricted to the Surgeon General and Assistant Surgeon General. Practitioners and the Lord Palatine may request permission, but this permission must be acquired each entry into the morgue. Apprentices and Auxiliary personnel may only be down in the morgue under the watch of the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General. Proper Care of Corpses and Cadavers will be left to the Surgeon General and Assistant Surgeon General. Each corpse and cadaver will be stored for 13 months before being cremated. This is to prevent a viral pandemic to break out. If the corpse does not have family or the family has not come to collect the corpse, it must be burned. Lessons will be held in the morgue for practical skills. These lessons shall be held by the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General presiding. Only Apprentices and other hospital staff may be down in the morgue as a lesson is taking place. All others will be asked to leave lest they be charged with clinical trespassing. Cremation will take place when: the corpse has not been collected after 13 months and no family or the state has stated otherwise after being contacted or the cadaver has not been used in 13 months to prevent disease from spreading. Reports will be written by the Surgeon General or Assistant Surgeon General depending on which office is doing the autopsy. The family, State, and Hospital Management shall have access to the autopsy report should the need arise. All of the policies above are to be held by the Surgeon General and the staff under them. Should any issues arise, do contact the Hospital of St. Amyas. Signed by: Dr. Aestenia Aevaris Surgeon General of Hanseti-Ruska
  13. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris had just moved Jackson's now lifeless body from the general morgue to the specific storage until she can track down his remaining family. All the while she kept thinking how she failed him. Her mentors had warned you never forget a patient you failed to save, and this one would always stay with her. "Maybe there is an afterlife where you're happy. Van'ayla llir"
  14. Charlotte Baruch waits outside of Valstadt as another familiar face comes to join her. "You're here sooner than I thought, but I'm glad you made it safe sister..." She holds out her arms, pipe in hand, to welcome her sister home. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris would walk out of the palace and back to her clinic, another stripe of white joining her hair as she loses yet another friend before her.
  15. Baruch et al. z. Surgeon General Response from the Surgeon General To the Jovenaars and Office of the Jusiticar , I write to you regarding the recent Summons of Baruch et al. z. Surgeon General and urge this claim to be dismissed outright out of both respect for sound legal practice and dignity of the Hospital of Saint Amayas. On Cremation: The Hospital operates the same policy for body collections in all cases. They are preserved for several months after initial autopsy, after which it is the obligation of the respective family to collect the body. It is not the Hospital’s policy, nor has it ever been, to have to remind families to collect bodies. Even if this were the case, the Hospital is currently overwhelmed with injured soldiers from the ongoing Troll War. The families were at all times after the autopsy free to come and collect the bodies. That they waited over a year led to the decay of the corpses, and as such the Hospital had no choice but to cremate them. Between the receipt of the bodies and this Summons - a period of several years - no reasonable effort was made to reclaim the bodies. This is in no way dishonesty or dishonour -- it is Hospital practice when a body is not reclaimed for over several months. On Harm: It’s quite clear that the Hospital did not cause reputational, economic, or physical harm on the parties. It is, again, the obligation of the families to collect the bodies. They failed to do so for over a year. The bodies were in a state of utter decay -- to leave them any longer would be a great dishonour to their memory. In the absence of any effort by the family to collect the body, the Hospital followed normal policy and cremated the bodies. Given the timeframe, this cannot really be said to be any kind of reputational harm. On Vandalism: The allegations of middling vandalism here border on slander. If indeed such charges occurred, the Office of the Jusiticar is welcome to pursue prosecution. Private citizens have no business alleging unproven criminal offenses, especially in light of the timeframe discussed above, and they most certainly have no business trying to extort money for it. To finish, Jovenaar, please dismiss this frivolous case for the reasons listed above. The Hospital is currently inundated with patients from the Troll War, especially after the recent raid on the Duchy of Reinmar, and it would be a serious and irreparable blow to morale to allow the Hospital to be sued for such unjustified reasons. Please uphold the dignity of our law, and our Hospital, and deny this Summons. Dr. Aestenia Aevaris Surgeon General
  16. Mariya had gone to Heinrik’s office after making her rounds at the spring festival her cousins had planned. She dropped off Sigismund and Petra’s favorite toys for Heinrik’s next round of watching their children when the ever familiar feeling of dread had crossed her. “Proper penance, left unpaid… A blood toll, to be paid thricefold.” She knew that voice. It still haunted her from when she was a small child. Her and Heinrik had gone to the basilica to investigate and the hound spoke using her body. It drove her to be a coward and leave her two closest friends, Marie and Stefan, when it had come to haunt the lighthouse and for her to flee her own office when its voice found its way to her. She turned, gripping her axes to fight the hound. “Your fight is with me, leave my family out of this.” She knew she couldn’t win, but Godan help her if this beast tried to go after her children and her friends again. Her only falter in her fighting was thinking of what would happen after. She didn’t know if Heinrik truly loved her, especially after his confession to her about his thoughts of other women. She just hoped her children would be fine and that they would find parent figures just like she did. She hopes some takes them on wild adventures like Dame Anabela did. She did never get to go back to that Wazai village to finish off the task of becoming the Wolf properly. She hopes someone raises them well and helps wherever they can like Ingrid did. Ingrid and Friedrich were the closest things she had to parents. She hopes Ser Cedric continues to teach her children and protect them now that she can’t. The fight was going poorly. She had no aurum or slayersteel, just her beloved axes made for her by Ser Brandt. They were trusty as ever, but there was no winning this fight. She was beaten and slumped against the pillar next to Heinrik’s desk. “All I ever asked was to be the only one in your heart. Please keep it that way. Raise our children like I ask of you.” was the last thing she said to his desk before the hound ripped out her throat. She knows he won’t. He’ll move on and likely quickly as she was never the Koenas anyone wanted. She wore pants instead of the dresses Rosalind piled at her door. She trained with the knights till Alric unsquired her despite Heinrik’s promise of allowing her to continue. She worked with the HRA having graduated as a cadet to a footman. Her face fell at that thought, she was abandoning her oaths but she will still hold the values. All she ever wanted to be was herself, and it cost her everything. Her friends will be alone, her children will not know their mother, and she will be cast aside and replaced like she always feared. But it was her time to leave. *A painting done of Koenas Mariya staring out at Lake Viktoria just after the birth of Sigismund* Koenas Mariya of Aurdvelt Mariya Antoniya Barbanov nee Amador 346 E.S. - 368 E.S. 1793 FA - 19 SA
  17. Charlotte Baruch sits at the docks of Valstadt, fishing for dinner with a pipe in her mouth when a familiar face appears coming down the dock. She turns to him "My love, you made it. Come join me. Gotta light?"
  18. Dr. Aevaris looks over the letter and thinks of the llir that sent it "I whole heartilly accept Tara. We will use these donations to continue running at a better standard." The surgeon general would pin the letter in her office as she continues working on the paperwork.
  19. Dr. Aevaris would look over the study the young princess had originally come to her with. "A job well done dearie, now you see what you're getting yourself into when you follow our path." Koenas Mariya smiles at the report in her office "So this is what you've been cooped up with Kat.."
  20. Koenas Mariya sits in their shared room, watching over her two newborn children, as she watches her husband embark on this walk "I hope this brings him some sort of peace..."
  21. Celebration on the Lake Wzuvar and Byvca 367 E.S. Extending an invitation to the fine men, women and children of Hanseti-Ruska, Her Majesty, Koenas Mariya sees it fit that during such times of heartache and gloom, that the strong people of this realm come together to show one's strong-mindedness. While the frontline of Haense is occupied by that of Troll-ridden warfare, at home, has the first child of His Majesty, and Her Majesty, been born. Godan bless Petra Emma! So this fete must be held, in celebration of the newborn and in prayer that this war might come to an end. A sea gala is to take place, bearing itself on one of our finely made Hanseti boats. Naturally speaking, beach-like attire is wholeheartedly recommended. It is too expected that the atmosphere be embraced as a calming one, while also allowing fun and merriment to be held; despite the looming woes. This party will not end until dawn cracks the night-bearing skies, from where drinks and lighthearted games shall commence. Such drinks will be provided onboard and all shall commence on that of our prestigious Lake Viktoria. One shall have to wait on the docks if wanting to attend, as to be rowed onboard. Signed, Her Royal Majesty, Mariya of Aurdvelt, Queen-Consort of Hanseti-Ruska ((OOC)) Wednesday 31st 4.30pm EST
  22. Koenas Mariya just sighs as she looks upon the latest slander. "If anyone else continues to insinuate my husband is being unfaithful to me, let's just say my pen is just as mighty as my blade."
  23. Koenas Mariya just sighs as she feeds the page to her wooden owlcat to shred. "Oh if you truly knew what happened." She merely goes on her way, still armed to the teeth as she walks around.
  24. With the business owners encouraged to be there and practice their trade face-to-face with the customers present, more activities will be held in order to make the event more unique and exciting. These will be introduced as a set of common event games, including but not limited to: Carrion Black Drinking Contest Dunking Contest Jousting Tournament Renian Shuffle … and any other on-the-spot activities and games that may be contributed. Whilst these will be held in a more idle manner throughout the Trade Fair, so to allow for actual trading to be conducted, a saint’s hour into the Fair, an auction will be held. With a multitude of goods being sold in this auction for any excited consumers to bid on, merchants will be able to put in their own goods to auction away, allowing for the steady and natural flow of currency to take place further. This auction will be coordinated and overseen by the Royal Treasurer, so to ensure a smooth process. Once the Trade Fair has finally finished, the rented stalls will be allowed to operate in their designated places for the next Saint’s week. TAVERN TUESDAY: Join the citizens of Hanseti-Ruska for a day of drinking and relaxing in the Old Stout Crow Pub. Enjoy the national drink of the nation, Carrion Black as we take a break from the festivities. Perhaps, if the festivities grow rowdy enough, we will have another Bard Battles to celebrate! BREAK DAY: Spend the day wandering around Karosgrad, shopping, eating and drinking as the second part of the festivities are being set up. Enjoy a carrion black while playing some Haeseni Chess or Lafst. Wander about the gardens or enjoy a peaceful stroll along the docks. Shops will be open selling their latest wares as the kingdom takes a breather. MASS: Join the kingdom for a mass in the beautiful Basilica of St. Henrik held by Cardinal Alfred. Shortly following will be time for confession should any citizen or visitor wish to do so, allowing a release from problems and worries whilst the festivities continue. TOURNAMENT AT GREYSPINE: On this day, a tournament shall be held at the Margraviate of Greyspine, highlighting the mettle and strength of the great warriors who wish to participate. With a handsome reward of 100 minas to the tournament’s champion, it should be an exciting series of matches. After the tournament has concluded guests will be invited inside of the palace for further merriment and fun. CLOSING BALL: The year long festival shall end with a parade to kick off the ball. Watch as the HRA and Knights of Haense escort the Koeng and Koenas to the closing night, where dancing and drinking shall commence - much like it did when the kingdom first gained independence. All are welcome to dance and drink to their heart’s content as we finish up the festival with the grand celebration! 25. Charlotte Baruch had finally gathered enough energy to leave Valwyck. Her years of battling her lungs had drained her to the point where she looked more like a child than a grown married woman with four children. Having grown tired of her temporary room in Valwyck, she headed into Karosgrad. Her family had been around the square when she finally walked over, loathing the fact she had to use a cane to get around when her children or husband weren't there. After speaking with them for awhile standing, the group had managed to sit at a table in front of the tavern. Her son Ruslan was challenging people to arm wrestling with his sister Adryana cheering him on. She leans over to her husband, who had been smoking a cigar. "I need you to follow this to a T." She hands him her will, written not long after her brother-in-law passed. "Wha', are ye going to keel over?" She just smiles at him, knowing it was already coming. She could see her older brother who she named her youngest son after, motioning her to join him. She saw her father and mother behind him, waiting for her. Her cousin Eleanor was off to the side, shaking her head "Ich told you, this would be your end." Ele was right, her smoking finally caught up to her. "Take your goddamn time joining me on the other side." She starts walking towards her family, not knowing it was her husband trying to get her to the clinic to get help. She looks at her children one last time, smiling knowing that they'll grow to have their own soon enough, and she'll watch them from the other side. She faces her husband, looking one last time before saying, "Good bye my love. Watch them for me." And like that, Charlotte Baruch joins her family in the Seven Skies.
