  1. "Alas Master Thalon, I did not. This voice must clearly be some foul dark magic of a witch trying to keep the impures of Elysium safe from the righteous furry of the Silver State.... also how do you keep getting into my bathroom..."
  2. Maehrir looks up from his arm chair while he reads the book. "Did I leave the door open?" he ponders, unsure how the wind managed to sound like an impure god-worshipping high elf mutter words in his ear. "Ah well... must be my imagination"
  3. The 'thill elf would read the invitation and glare. "Who keeps sending me impure mail? First one of my kin is a dragon worshipper, then the snow elves want to be relevant again, now Impure 'ata acts of selfish desires? What has Almaris come to!"

    DAWN

Maehrir Dovian glares as the message was delivered "Such 'ata trash.... why has this been sent to Haelun'or of all places?"
  5. Maehrir Dovian reads over the missive before crushing the letter in his hand. The High Elf shakes his head "Damn it all. You had to commit to such an impurity? Tis horrid you are now mali'ata..." he mutters with distain, bitterness in his voice as he looks westwards to see the sun set
  6. Said my piece over discord to Sorcerio, but thought I would put it here Read through necro lore and spells, what seems to be the biggest deal is the lack of versatility that allows for necros to hold their own in any situation The currently lore for it doesn't need so much of a total rewrite, rather it could use some updating, as well as maybe put the necros into the hands of someone who can actively lead them. Personally when i joined the server, the one dark magic that I had always wanted to try my hand in, even for a short while, was necromancy: but it feels nearly impossible to try so at the current moment. I hope that if a necro rewrite does happen, I will be able to see the masters of undeath in action, ether fighting against or with them!
  7. Stoic Uhfhild would kneel in silence as he witnessed Theoderic pass by him in the Northern hub. The lowly peasent paying his due respects to his true king before rising and rushing off after Theoderic towards wherever the Ruric would head to.
  8. "The rise of the mouse folk?" Maehrir says as he finds this message. "Will Almaris survive?"
  9. "Hmm... an old Norlandic line coming to reclaim their throne? Such is the way of human greed..." and elf muses as he reads the missive that had somehow found its way into Haelun'or. Still, the elf smirked at such, and could not help but wish this 'rightful king' luck on his quest
  10. A muscular elf with a frown to rival Zayn's glorious smile looks at this missive with a stony glare, stroking his large beard. "My time has come... I must join with my brothers in arms" he says with a tone that would cause lesser men to shake in their boots before he begins to sprint with his chiseled legs towards Haelun'or
  11. Maehrir Dovian is overcome with joy that the Eternal College is finally doing something
  12. Almost soon after, Maehrir Dovian raises a brow at this scroll as well. "Yet another amount of vital information.... a treasure trove of wisdom to be had this series is... I must send for this 'Edric Vildr' at once. I fear his knowldege my forever rot away in the halls of the human libraries if not saved by a scholar of true nature" Muttering this to himself. the elf as well, stows this bit of lore away to later be transcribed into a text for all in his library
  13. While looking through old scrolls of long forgotten texts, Meahrir Dovian, scholar of the Eterna Library of Haelun'or raises a brow as his green eyes pierce the words of the text. "Most fascinating... a first hand encounter with these horrid creatures? I should try to find this man, as well as document this into a text so my kin can better fend themselves from such unsavory beasts." He then stores the paper away, and continues to sift through old scrolls
  14. Maehrir would look upon this latest writing and smile before sending an owl too April Vallei’onn. "Dear April, your latest writings have caught my attention greatly. As a Librarian and Scholar of our great Eternal House of Wisdom, I would hope to expect a tome about these constellations to be written and submitted as soon as possible. Keep up the excellent work -Maehrir Dovian, Head Librarian and Tillir'maehr of the Eternal College and Library"
  15. OTHELU ORRAR, PROPHET of LARIHEI Mali’thill of the blessed Silver State of Haelun’or, this missive goes out to all your ears in hopes you recognize that we, the Mali’aheral have been blessed by Larihei with her greatest servant, sent to us in our time of need and desperation to set things straight and put forth a new age of High Elven Greatness. That Prophet who has been sent to us is Othelu Orrar, the Sohaer of our blessed State. For to long, we have been blinded by this prophet sent to us by the purest of the pure, the first Maheral, our Blessed Lady Larihei; and like all prophets Othelu’s words ring true and strong in the hearts of our people. Let this missive be proof of the miracles he has done, and convince you that Othelu Orrar should become the sole, absolute ruler of all High Elves throughout Almaris and beyond, channeling the will of Larihei through his genius. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESTRUCTION of THE CORRUPT The old regime, the failed, bloated, disgusting Haelun’orian republic was a failure of a state. This dark age in our history saw our people debase with the lowest of the low: impures of all kind. Ranging from lessers, tainted High Elves, and even mystical creatures that would love nothing more then to see us dead. However then came Othelu, blazing forth with the blades of Larihei as he pushed the corrupt out of their homes and wrote upon us a new Rule of Law which sees us elevated to that of a strong nation. No longer shall we be subjected to the whims of foreign powers. The Sohaer as put us on a path that shall see us rise like a phoenix into a new age: the Age of the Elves. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BLADE of JUSTICE With the rise of the Sohaer, the rise of our armies have come at last. Mali’thill of all ages and social class have begun to join the blessed El’Sillumiran to do their parts for the state. The lost art of war has begun to return. Soon our warriors shall be worth a hundred men in their own right. Each one shall carry the strength of an army, the wraith of thousand elves. Their blades shall sing the songs of justice as they cleave into the hearts of darkness that seek to undermine the will of the Prophet of Larihei! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BEEFEST of MALI The image detailed in this missive shows us clearly that the Sohaer, Othelu Orrar, is at PEAK PHYSICAL CONDITION. Look at those abs, those biceps. By eating the Haelun’or Beefeater Burgers and flexing his strength upon the impures, the Sohaer has proven that the Mali’aheral are capable of great things. Will you push for such pureness of the body? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCHOLAR of IDEALS It is quite clear that the Sohaer is full of great ideas. His mind blessed by the Pure Lady Larihei. Genius spreads out from his very words. All who listen to him are enlightened by his ideas. His Charisma is a burning passion that shall make all listen to him. For I say now that unwavering loyalty to Othelu Orrar, Greatest of the Sohaers is not a crippling burden, but a righteous privilege granted by the purest of our people by Larihei herself. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONCLUSION The conclusion of this missive is quite clear. The Sohaer is our great leader and shall lead us on a road to salvation to liberate our people from the shackles of the past. No longer will we be subjected to the whims of others, but to the strong silver will of Larihei herself Hail Haelun’or, Hail the Sohaer! Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya
  16. Maehrir Dov gazes at the poster, his face contorting into a mixture of absolute distain. "A mere sixteen year old already looking for a spose? Unbelievable! They have barely lived a life age of a human and they are already looking for a spose? Immature.... what has the latest generation of Mali degresed towards!" The High Elf exclaims before walking down the path
  17. OTHERWORLDLY THREATS to PURITY Mali’thill of Haelun’or and beyond, this missive goes out to all our kin in hopes that they may give their support to our great nation in helping us root out a problem that has plagued our people for generations on end: The Dark Arts and the wretched impures that have a stranglehold upon our people The count in the many. Necromancers, Frost Witches, Vampires and the Inferi. All of these dark things have time and time again, threatened our pure and glorious nation with the threat of being subservient and slaves to the vile creatures that lurk beyond our eyes. They walk among us, disused in our pure and near divine forms, pretending to be of us, but prey on our mortal coils and feast on our greatest flaw, blindness to what surrounds us. I now make this missive to remove the vail from your eyes, to open you up to the truth of why Haelun’or is at great threat of collapsing and becoming a dreaded necropolis of slavery and despotism to the things that would see us bend the knee to their dark ways. NECROMANCERS It should go without saying that the act of raising the dead is a sin beyond measure. To end the peaceful slumber of the dead and violate their spirits by forcing the corpses of the deceased to be slaves to their dark whims. To this end, Haelun’or should take measures to stop the rise of necromantic cults within our walls. Corpses should be burned ceremonially and dumped into acid pits to starve the dark mages of their source of power. Alliances should be made with groups who are skilled in hunting these heretics of the ‘thill down, and purges must be done to cull their numbers if they rest within our city. Already a horrid fungus has begun to grow in our sewers, and it’s smell of rotting flesh is clearly the signs of necromancers at work, doing their best to cause the downfall of the greatest nation upon Almaris and turn us into their undead slaves and abominations of the dark FROST WITCHES These vile women of our once ‘thill blood have sold their souls and essence for the vain attempt of power. Wishing no more then to enslave the men of our city and convert the pure and innocent maidens of our lands into their wicked numbers, these icy, cold hearted feminst gone astray shall be our undoing if we do not act fast. Hunts for their vile kind should be had, and no corner of our great lands should go unscoward until they have all meet the fate of traitors: burnt upon the pyro of righteous vengeous for the blood and lives ruined and destroyed by their deeds of evil VAMPYRES Creatures of the night that lurk in the shadows. Cults of blood and magic that scorn the very earth with their touch. A strangeness about these creatures and their willingness to canablize their fellows makes them dangerous enough, it is also their ability to drain the mali’thill of their purest blood to sustain them. Let it then be known that the light of day shall strike true against these night horrors. Our blades and words ring true in song as we play the last ballet they will ever hear: the sound of steel grinding deep into their black hearts, their blood turning against them as they spill outwards, slowly to rot as we step into the future without them holding us back. INFERI These otherworldly demons are the pinnacle of destruction and madness. Born from the hatred of the name of our greatest enemy whom cursed us with the inability to have many children, the daemons of the Inferi ever wait in hiding, their dark cults looking to undermine our establishments to bring about a new age of destruction and servitude to the most impure of all impure things. Strengthening our culture and our own resolve must be had. Rooting out these cultists and sending them to a swift death is the only answer to safeguard our way of life. Never forget the crimes of the Inferi Criseis. Never forget the blood they split of our kin. We shall make ourselves pure by silencing these heretics and sending them to their foul masters by flame and sword. Let them burn in their hells as we ascended to greatness to stand beside our great masters beyond our world. We the children of Larihei and of Malin shall rise above them and become whole CONCLUSION As you have read this missive, may it remind you of the treats we face. Our city is not just a stack of being overrun by the empires of the world, but it is also at risk of being enslaved by those worse than a simple half breed or a mali’thill made impure by their own selfish acts. We must be at a constant vigil to challenge these otherworldly beasts and monsters to keep our people safe. Our families will never be safe until we at least, free ourselves from our tormentors that lurk under our noses Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya
  18. Maehrir Dov: "This is true! True I say! I was there in the Silver Stag when the assassin tried to strike. From the moment she entered into the city I knew something was off as well. I even had a conversation with her, but this... barbarian spoke ill of our thill. The crimes of Elveneness against our great Sohear can not go unanswered! If joining the legion is what it takes to get righteous revenge upon these heretics... then I shall join with faith that the ancestors smile down upon us"
  19. Hello! I am new to LotC server and I just made my character

I am in a bit of a pickle though, as I am not entirely sure if they should live in the Silver City of the Elves or in another elf nation that is less 'xenophobic' to the other races

I have good arguments for both, but I guess I would rather get a community opinion rather then try to make it my own due to others having more experience here.

The High Elf in question is named Maehir, and is a scholar/mage(?)/studier of history, magic, and all things unknown. He, like other high elves does believe in the idea of purity. However he is not a super purist at heart. He has a fondness for the 'lesser' races of the realms (mainly humans), and seeks to mimic them in the ways they peruse goals in their short lives and isn't a bigot towards them, nor is one to look down at their inherit 'inferiority'. Due to this conflicting ideal he has, I have been rather stuck on where he should live. Should he have home in the Silver City? Or should he live in a different elven realm (do know he was born in the Silver City to begin with, and does follow many High Elf customs depending on what they are)

I agree that you should probably choose to live in the Silver City as I think it would fit your character, definitely shouldn't let the fact the character would be conflicted about it stop you from choosing what makes most thematic sense. However I suggest at least visiting the others as it makes sense if your character has such a conflict that he would investigate the other cultures. But I imagine that's part of the fun, experiencing that conflict of values in RP, not deciding before hand.

Regardless, have fun Roleplaying on the server! And if you're a scholar, I suggest talking to the Remembrancers, they're an international scholar guild that has quite the history ;)

Maehrir was born in the Silver City of the High Elves, parented by two elven scholars, Tolna Dov and Krith Dov respectively. It would be under these circumstances that would help influence the youth of Maehrir. His name itself comes from the scholarly pursuits of his parents and their studies. While possible not accurate, his name is a heavily butcherer combination of words from the ancient elf language that translates quite literally to 'One who is Wise'. . He would spend his youth under their tutelage learning all things scholarly, Alchemy, and lore based for the better part of 35 years before he decided to set off into the world to experience life for himself until he was around 50, and for the next 25 or so years, to which he keeps mostly private (ooc note: left vauge intentionally incase someone wants to write in that they met during this period of exploration and self discovery), he would come to gain the innate... nature as it would be, that causes humans to life their lives the way they do. Becoming half obsessed with human culture, Maehrir would take it upon himself to try and achieve great things throughout his life, wanting to become enshrined in the text books of history for something great. However his return to the Silver City was met with some a bit of sadness, for his mother, dear Tolna, had passed on from a sickness along with his father. Thus with determination in his heart, Maehrir would prepare to pick up the torch, and make it his own duty to find out the secrets of the ancient elves no mater the cost, wishing to learn magic as his parents once knew and become a true High Elf in all that he does
