  3. AFFIRMATION OF THE COUNTY OF WARSOVIA Issued & Confirmed on 4th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1909, Corwinsburg As decreed by the Prince of Merryweather, Every trace of effort is noticed and duly rewarded to the extent that is deserved. Since their arrival to the United Kingdom of Aaun, and more specifically the Landgraviate of Alstreim, the Jazloviecki family have proven themselves remarkably diligent and loyal to its venerable ideals. It is in recognition of this loyalty and their leal servitude to the Princely House of Alstreim that the County of Warsovia is hereby publicly affirmed, to be held by Jan Jazloviecki as its first Count, and to be passed onto his heirs of the body in perpetuity. He and his successors are assigned the former area of Grodno under the Landgraviate of Alstreim, and charged with the maintenance of law and order within the area as well as to take up their sword in defense of the Landgraviate of Alstreim and the United Kingdom of Aaun should such ever become a necessity forthwith. 10. Aus Einigkeit Kraft AFFIRMATION OF THE WALDENIC SYMBOLS OF MERIT An Edict of the Waldenic Diet On the 14th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1897, the Fifth Waldenic Diet convened on the matter of writing up a formal document in an attempt to properly affirm and clarify the ancient traditions that emerged since the convening of the Waldenfest of 1686, that of signifying one’s status as a Vander by blood or second birth, or as a knight of the Waldenic Diet, and the practice of awarding the Ferrum Cross of Aesterwald for exceptional feats of bravery. It was then and there agreed that the task of putting such to paper would be left to the Lord Vandalore, and that the draft thereof be presented and voted on by next session of the Diet. Thus, having properly discussed as much during the Third Session of the Fifth Waldenic Diet, does the Waldenic Diet affirm and decree the following in the name of the Waldenic peoples; ON THE WEARING OF A TORSE I. That, firstly, the wearing of a torse - a wreath of intertwined, twisted fabrics as traditionally worn by Waldenian Knights to signify one’s status as a Vander shall be permissible for knights that have proven themselves loyal to the Vander Code only. II. That, secondly, the manner by which a Waldenian Knight is chosen for such a privilege is if their adherence to the Vander Code is taken note of by the Lord Vandalore and the Electors. Whereupon they shall be duly invited to attend a session of the Waldenic Diet after a vote. III. That, thirdly, having been invited to attend a session a Knight chosen for this honor shall have their loyalty to the Vander Code affirmed by the Waldenic Diet, whereafter he or she shall be made to swear an oath to it before being presented with their torse by the Vandalore. IV. That, fourthly, those Knights awarded this honor shall officially be styled as ‘Vanders’ in recognition of their loyalty and adherence to the Vander Code, with the torse as proof hereof. ON THE WEARING OF THE FERRUM CROSS I. That, firstly, the wearing of a Ferrum Cross as an order of merit shall be made permissible for those chosen by the Lord Vandalore to award those that either contributed exceptionally to Waldenian culture and society, or in the case of Black Ferrum, committed deeds of valor. II. That, secondly, the manner by which a Waldenian is chosen for such a privilege is if their exceptional contributions to Waldenian culture and society, or their heroic deeds of valor, are recognized by the Lord Vandalore. Whereupon they shall be duly invited to attend a session of the Waldenic Diet on the Lord Vandalore’s personal initiative, with approval of the Diet. III. That, thirdly, having been invited to attend a session of the Waldenic Diet the chosen shall be commended for their efforts and bestowed with their Ferrum Cross by the Lord Vandalore; destined to be worn on the left side of the recipient’s torso, duly worn over their heart. IV. That, fourthly, the descendants of recipients that have been awarded this honor shall be awarded the right to wear their ancestors’ achievement on the right side of their torso. During this period of absence, estimated to last for about a year and a half total to account for the time spent reaching Salvus by sea and back, the Prince’s uncle Hans Lorenz von Alstreim is to take charge as regent over Corwinsburg and the Alstreim territories by the grace of God. In addition, in his capacity as Lord Vandalore and Elected Margrave of Vanderfell, the Prince is to be represented by the Duke of Reinmar and Chief of the Reinmaren until his eventual return. TO REVIVE THE EFFORT TO COMPOSE THE COMPACT OF MERRYWEATHER Vote: Revive the effort to compose the Compact of Merryweather, to be written up and discussed during less disturbed times. Vote: Motion to Adjourn the Second Session of the Fifth Waldenic Diet. PRIMARY WALDENIC SYMBOLS OF MERIT On the 14th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1897, the Fifth Waldenic Diet convened on the matter of writing up a formal document on the primary Waldenic symbols of merit in an attempt to affirm and clarify such ancient traditions such as that of wearing a torse or being awarded the Ferrum Cross of Aesterwald. A motion brought forth by the Lord Vandalore himself, it was proposed that, if agreed upon by vote, the document was to be prepared by next session. In addition, during this time, the Electorate of Bishop let it be known that their Electorate was from henceforth to be called Ostervik in recognition of their newly acquired title of nobility. They shall therefore in writing be recognized as ‘Bishop-Ostervik’ from henceforth. VOTE: HAVE THE LORD VANDALORE WRITE UP A FORMAL DOCUMENT WITH CLEAR RULES REGARDING SYMBOLS OF MERIT, TO BE PRESENTED TO THE WALDENIC DIET FOR JUDGMENT BY NEXT SESSION JA Reinmar-Sutica Bishop-Ostervik Velen Minitz Arentania Merryweather-Alstreim ABWESEND Audrick Valwyck The vote passed unanimously. COMPACT OF MERRYWEATHER On the 14th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1897, the Fifth Waldenic Diet convened on the matter of potentially reviving the effort to compose the Compact of Merryweather as first presented by Lord Vandalore Ulrich von Alstreim years back. With no special opinions from any of the Electors the Waldenic Diet moved to a proper vote forthwith. VOTE: REVIVE THE EFFORT TO COMPOSE THE COMPACT OF MERRYWEATHER, TO BE WRITTEN UP AND DISCUSSED DURING LESS DISTURBED TIMES JA Reinmar-Sutica Bishop-Ostervik Velen Minitz Arentania Merryweather-Alstreim ABWESEND Audrick Valwyck The vote passed unanimously. The effort to compose the Compact of Merryweather is to be revived, and the first draft thereof prepared by next session, though only to be released during more stable times. CONDEMNATION On the 14th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1897, the Fifth Waldenic Diet convened on the matter of full denouncement by all Waldenic Lords and potential excommunication by the Holy Mother Church of the Canon to any man that would lay claim to the defunct title of Oren. A motion presented by the Elector of Bishop-Ostervik, it evidently sparked much debate. After some objections were voiced by the Electorate of Arentania, Reinmar-Sutica, and the Lord Vandalore on the basis that there were other options, Katerina Matriarch Jorenus was consulted on the matter. Heeding her counsel, it was instead suggested by the Lord Vandalore that they vow to denounce any man or woman who would dare lay claim to the Kingdom, or Empire, of Oren without consent of the High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon. With no further discussions sparked over this, it was swiftly thereafter called to a proper vote. VOTE: MOTION TO PLEDGE TO DENOUNCE ANY WHO WOULD LAY CLAIM TO OREN WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE HIGH PONTIFF OF THE CHURCH OF THE CANON JA Reinmar-Sutica Bishop-Ostervik Velen Minitz Arentania Merryweather-Alstreim ABWESEND Audrick Valwyck The vote passed unanimously. Thus it is decreed that the Waldenic Diet shall do as much, should there ever be a need. VOTE: MOTION TO ADJOURN THE SECOND SESSION OF THE FIFTH WALDENIC DIET JA Bishop-Ostervik Velen Minitz Arentania Merryweather-Alstreim ABWESEND Audrick Valwyck Reinmar-Sutica The vote passed unanimously and the second session was adjourned. Issued and proclaimed in the name of the Waldenian People, Ausgestellt und verkündet im Namen des Waldenischen Volkes, LORD VANDALORE.
  20. NOTICE OF SUCCESSION Issued on the 2nd of Tobias’ Bounty, 1897, at Corwinsburg IT HAS BEEN but a mere year since the passing of Heinrich Franz von Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather, who passed away rather unexpectedly after having been wounded in faithful service to King and Country. A terrible loss to the House of Alstreim, Corwinsburg and the Alstreim territories mourn his passing greatly still. Having never married and thus produced no heirs, nor having named a successor, the Prince’s sister, Calliope Renata, was left to take charge as Regent during the period of transition. The members of the House of Alstreim, committed to the practice of Renatian succession, were left to convene amongst themselves in regards to settling the matter of inheritance with the necessary haste. Following some debate, and meditation in prayer to the Most High, a successor was finally agreed upon by all members of the House called to counsel. Thus it is proclaimed that by the Grace of God and assent of those of the House of Alstreim that Lord Vandalore and Margrave of Vanderfell, Ottomar von Alstreim, is the one to fill the void left by Prince Heinrich as Prince of Merryweather, from hereon styled His Highness, Ottomar II von Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Margrave of Vanderfell, Lord Vandalore, Baron of Corwinsburg proper. GOTT MIT UNS HIS HIGHNESS, Ottomar II of the House of Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Elected Margrave of Vanderfell and Twelfth Lord Vandalore, Baron of Corwinsburg Calliope the Maiden, in Service to the King of Kings and His Prophet Horen, Our Father
