"Ah," Did Rudolf exclaim upon hearing the joyous news, gladdened that, at last, a grandchild was born. "It would seem the Lord has seen fit to bless me with grandchildren during my lifetime afterall." Contented, thereupon, to pray for the child's good health - and prepare himself for the coming baptism.

"It is quite good for a first thesis. And certainly offers much food for thought," Mused one Cardinal Godfrey, who, in his old age (being about ninety-eight or so), with an ever worsening constitution, barely held onto his earthly life at all- though took the time to read theses all the same. Making sure to send a copy of the written thesis to the Prelate of the Priesthood that he might perhaps address the young man's desire to join the Church ((for lack of being able to go about it himself)) after he had finished with as much. 'You should invite him over, perhaps, to at least ensure he has everything he needs for his studies, if he already has a priest to study under..' Were among the words the elderly Canonist clergyman jotted down on paper in the letter he sent alongside such. @TheOnlyTub

"ALMOST ALL IS GOOD IN THE WORLD," Proclaimed one Sir Rudolf Barclay now that peace reigned on Azuras once more, united under the banner of the Empire. "Praise be to the Lord on High for this grand victory for Man. Ave Imperium!" Some consideration, on his end, being given to the Emperor's Church mandated penance after his initial reaction. "..Though I really hope the Chief of Chiefs has not forgotten about his immortal soul. Hrm."

pretty much everything in here is rly good. esp when it comes to actual symbolism. otherwise I think I'm a fan of all the various pontifical COA's the most, of which Jude II's is probably my favorite

Godfrey Cardinal St. Tylos was, all things considered, quite traumatised by these events, "AAARGH. I hope they catch him swiftly. And make his death slow! I hope! I hope!!" That elderly Cardinal could be heard shouting from the Temple of St. Julia for a good few hours afterwards. If anything, baffling though the claims were, at least the fact he had signed off on this was thus obviously not in doubt.

"Penance may yet do him well, if His Holiness has prescribed him this," Mused one Sir Rudolf (who tended to keep track of things to do with those he presently disliked) at taking note of the missive. "That his life was marked by degeneracy in times past needs not mean it needs be marked by it forever." He added, considerate of how humiliating having to issue a missive such as this must truly be. "Though, eh, words are one thing, and deeds another. It is the deeds that follow this that will truly define his state." That last ponderance being something he dwelled on for quite some time. Namely how, in his mind, it was likely to prove bitter medicine. "I hope he proves genuine about all of it at least! Redemption is a worthy venture. No one truly repentant is beyond saving." Eventually setting the missive aside and returning to his duties. Though not before saying a few prayers for the souls of those involved.

Looking to return! And probably play a child char
Ramon replied to Datweirdguy's topic in Looking for Group
you should play what YOU think is cool and will help you stay interested in the end. I'm sure that as a pretty well established dwarf player (I recall u from the Attenlund Expedition days in particular IIRC, I played a Doomforge around that time myself) you shouldn't have any issue getting a dwarf child character in any dwarven clans either, and Urguan highkey needs recruits for its current war either way and u cant go wrong with child soldiers. Adunians/Idunians are in a situation akin to vanilla humanrp where they're in the most interesting spot they've been in in a bit as well, having their own Kingdom again (Idunia) which can also end up being rly fun to engage with. the biome Idunia's capital is in is ***** awesome anywho I'm sure we'll run into eachother IRP at some point if you end up finding something π€ -
Looking to return! And probably play a child char
Ramon replied to Datweirdguy's topic in Looking for Group
don't at present have any characters that need playing, and especially not any child characters (though maybe at some point in the future?), but I am glad to see you're considering making a return and sincerely hope you find something. too few fellow dutchies on the server these days. If I could suggest you go for any race in specific regardless, though, I'd strongly urge you to consider going human this time around and seeing if there's any families in the Empire of Man that need any characters played (of which there are bound to be a good many). human rp is arguably in one of its more interesting phases rn πΌ -
A Formal Introduction to the Noble House of Greye
Ramon replied to Monty Cobra's topic in High Lordship of Ildon
"An awfully overambitious house with delusions of grandeur most inappropriate for those of their lowly station," Grumbled one Sir Rudolf upon coming across the missive. Biased against House Greye in that regard as ever. "Though one with the talent required to succeed as well, if only they were wise enough to stick to Virtue." Added he thereafter, pondering that matter. As much leading him to question. "Surely, though, they will have learned their lesson? Namely that such things never bring about profit for long.." His final thoughts on that matter drawn up from the back of his mind bit by bit after he'd finished reading it all. "One can only hope they admit fault and never make the same mistakes again. They have a chance at genuine redemption now." The missive then put down - and stored away somewhere. "It'd be a shame if they'd throw it all away. No one likes oathbreakers, lechers, evildoers, the like. Nor should they." He eventually came to conclude, content to leave the matter to the Lord above. "Let's hope they understand these things now. Then there would be no more need for any to be wary of them." He had at least, some claims he thought laughable aside, enjoyed the read the missive had offered him. And judged it mostly nice.- 20 replies

"Onto a better future for the Church, hopefully, our Lord willing," Mused a certain Godfrey. Being himself carefully optimistic about the way things had worked out. "Though there is much work to be done still until such can be said for certain.. Hrm.." He concluded. His first order of business in that regard being to spread copies of the Golden Bull around his own diocese.

"Their stronghold of degeneracy - no doubt filled with all kind of reprobates - is bound to fall either way," Sir Rudolf Barclay mused, mostly dismissing the missive after he had read it. Though it did lead him to ponder. "I wonder if the Chief of Chiefs would let us take whatever titles these so-called people claimed prior come war's end?" That particular ponderance one that would persist, perhaps till the war's actual end. "Or at least force them into abeyance. Hrm. They did slight us with this personally, afterall.."

RESULTS OF THE FIRST ECUMENICAL COUNCIL OF RITTERSBURG AS ISSUED BY GODFREY BISHOP ST. RHOSYN ON THIS 12TH DAY OF OWYNβS LIGHT OF 641 α΄α΄. AND ADDRESSED TO ALL THE WORLD OF CANONDOM THAT IT MIGHT BE KNOWN That after taking a headcount, and ensuring the legitimacy of the ordination history of those present, after which one priestβs credibility was found to be dubious, whereupon they were turned away, the Priesthood of Owyn, under the authority of GOD, has found resolutions to the following two issues presented in the form of voting, thus proclaiming the season of the First Ecumenical Council of Rittersburg to an end. NAMELY THAT: WITH 9 VOTES OF THE 9 PRIESTS PRESENT, THUS SEEING IT AGREED UNANIMOUSLY, IT WAS AFFORDED THAT IN ABSENTIA VOTES SENT IN WERE VALID. TO ACCOMODATE THOSE PRIESTS THAT COULD NOT JOURNEY TO THE COUNCIL IN TIME BUT HAD TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF SENDING IN THEIR CHOICE FOR PONTIFF BY LETTER. AND THAT, THUS, WITH 14 VOTES OF THE 15 PARTICIPATING PRIESTS, ONE OF WHOM ABSTAINED, OF WHICH 9 WERE PHYSICALLY PRESENT, AND 6 VOTED IN ABSENTIA, 5 PARTICIPANTS OF WHICH WERE BISHOPS-MAGISTERS, EITHER PRESENT OR IN ABSENTIA, THEREBY ENSURING A MAJORITY OF WHAT REMAINS OF THAT CHURCHLY BODY ALSO, VALENTIN BURGUNDY WAS ELECTED PONTIFF-ELECT BY GREAT MAJORITY. AND ENTHRONED RIGHT FOLLOWING THE COUNCILβS END AS CAIUS II. FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WHICH ARE TO BE WRITTEN BY HIS HOLINESSβ HAND. Finally, it was also affirmed by the Pontiff-Elect that a Church without a Holy Law is not a church, and that further councils shall be held in the foreseeable future to see to the completion of such a thing; and that the Codex Danielus Pontifex of Canon Law shall be considered valid in the interim where deemed reasonable by the spirit of that same law, rather than the express word of that law, at His Holinessβ discretion. A CALL TO ECUMENICAL COUNCIL AS ISSUED BY GODFREY BISHOP ST. RHOSYN ON THIS FIRST DAY OF HORENβS CALLING OF 640 α΄α΄. AND ADDRESSED WITH SOME URGENCY TO ALL VALIDLY ORDAINED PRIESTS OF THE HOLY MOTHER CHURCH TABLE OF CONTENTS ββ β’ βββββββββββ β’ β‘ β’ βββββββββββ β’ ββ SECTION I - OPENING PRAYER SECTION II - CLARIFICATION SECTION III - REQUIREMENTS ββ β’ βββββββββββ β’ β‘ β’ βββββββββββ β’ ββ SECTION I β¦β’ ββββββββ β’ β‘ β’ ββββββββ β’β¦ OPENING PRAYER Almighty God, we beg Thy clemency: be pleased to check these heavy rains and show unto us a cheerful sky. We beseech Thee, O Lord, that all spiritual wickedness may be driven away from Thy house, and that the fury of the storms that now beset it may pass away. Amen. β‘ SECTION II β¦β’ ββββββββ β’ β‘ β’ ββββββββ β’β¦ CLARIFICATION Let it be known throughout all the lands of Canondom that our most August Emperor Hadrian has seen fit to spare the Holy Mother Church the yoke of a through caesaropapism installed candidate for the Pontifical Throne. And instead, mindful of the justice of our Lord, the God of his father Horen, whose Spirit through council is ever at work within His Church, decided to give the Mother Church leave to tend to its own affairs as is proper. And that knowing this, I, Godfrey Bishop St. Rhosyn, do see fit to by my spiritual authority, in the absence of a College of Cardinals, or any kind of higher authority remaining in this period of SEDE VACANTE, call forth an ECUMENICAL COUNCIL that is to be chaired by myself to see to the election of a new High Pontiff that shall serve the good purpose of bridge-builder the proper way. After which, should the Lord by His mercy and our Pontiff-Elect allow it to be so, there shall be room to discuss and vote on a myriad of other issues. Provided they do not brazenly go against Holy Tradition. Thus it is that all priests that would heed the call to serve God (provided they meet the requirements requested of them in the next section) are summoned to THE IMPERIAL PALACE in about two months time. Where we shall sit in council and decide upon the future of our Mother Church. Let it likewise be known that the Emperor has been requested to guard the proceedings and agreed. And that any disturbances will likely be met with the full force of the Imperial Dragonknights. Be warned, therefore, not to cause trouble. SECTION III β¦β’ ββββββββ β’ β‘ β’ ββββββββ β’β¦ REQUIREMENTS Being mindful of it that it has been an issue that priests spring up out of the woodworks during important encounters such as these, it has been afforded any and all priests, provided they are not of bad character, may vote, should they have met some requirements by the time the Council is to commence. Namely that they must send a LETTER to MYSELF with their NAME and ORDINATION HISTORY. Which shall then kindly be studied and run through what records yet remain and confirmed. Which I think is simple enough. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SENT SUCH A LETTER MY WAY BY THE TIME THE COUNCIL IS TO COMMENCE WILL NOT GET TO VOTE. Again, therefore, it is stressed: SEND ME A LETTER WITH YOUR NAME AND ORDINATION HISTORY BEFORE THE COMMENCING OF THE COUNCIL. And have it signed. This is very important. Let it also be clear that, in the absence of a proper Diet of Bishops, and the College of Cardinals, for both of these have been wrecked into the ground over the years for reasons surely only God knows, the voting process for the position of High Pontiff shall involve all of the priesthood present. Bishop Godfrey, in turn, handing that elderly priest preaching to him (after he'd gotten back up, at least, both their ages did not allow for much in the way of speed anymore. For both of them were elderly now) something he'd been meaning to give him for a long time, to test a hypothesis of his: "Consider filling this out amidst your preaching." He bid.
