  1. AS ISSUED AND AGREED UPON ON THE 20TH DAY OF GODFREY’S TRIUMPH OF 1962 Between the Kingdom of Aaun and the Duchy of Brabant FOREWORD It is by mutual respect and trust that great deeds are accomplished together. It is with these ideals the states of the Kingdom of Aaun and the Duchy of Brabant address and deal with one another, to build a mutually prosperous environment for traveller and pilgrim alike, upon which a solid foundation of cooperation will be constructed and maintained for many years to come. For such is the duty of those in seats of power, as bid by the faith. Thus, the following is agreed upon: ARTICLE I - RECOGNITION That the Kingdom of Aaun and the Duchy of Brabant, henceforth referred to as ‘the signatories’, recognise the righteous Canonist rule of each other’s domains forthwith. ARTICLE II - NON-AGGRESSION That the signatories pledge to adhere to principles of peace between each other, and, on the basis of sharing belief in the one true Canonist faith, shall not wage war upon one another or try to bring harm to the integrity of each other’s territories in any way, shape or form. ARTICLE III - INFRASTRUCTURE That the signatories agree to construct a road between the royal city of Whitespire and the City of Lilenburg, through the valley of Mt. St Godwin, dubbed the Silver Road of St. Tobias, as well as establish a sea route between the signatories’ respective harbors. This is to ease of travel for pilgrims and missionaries, as well as to further promote trade among each other. And that, furthermore, the signatories agree to construct a chapel along the Silver Road of St. Tobias, dedicated to the aforementioned Saint, where travellers may find rest on their travels. ARTICLE IV - TRAVEL & TRADE That the signatories thus agree to allow free movement of their respective citizens between their territories, pledging further to freely provide traveling Canonist pilgrims and missionaries within their lands with hospitality, sanctuary and protection. For this purpose agreeing to work together to mutually patrol along the Silver Road upon its completion. And that, furthermore, the signatories agree to grant each other one stall in each other’s capital, free of tax, to further allow trade to flourish between them. ARTICLE V - EXTRADITION That the signatories pledge to aid one another in the case of extradition at given request and shall not lend any assistance to criminals sought after by either of their righteous governments. ARTICLE VI - DURATION That the signatories agree that, whereas the Silver Road shall forever stand the test of time, this specific agreement shall be in effect for a period of fifteen years, after which the parties shall convene again for renegotiations. Signed, His Royal Majesty, JOHN ALEXANDER, by the Grace of GOD, King of Aaun, Prince of Alstion, Duke of Vienne, the Lowlands, Balemena and Corazon, Count of Whitespire, Enswerp and Florentine, Baron of Blanchet, Protector of the Realm His Grace, Ser Sterling Blaxton-Whitewood, Duke of Brabant, Marquis of Lotusgrad, Baron of Blackwell, Lilenburg and Swan’s Keep, Lord of the Peaks, Protector of the Weefolk.
  2. "This is our peace, as has always been said," John of Aaun mused, the Lorraine traced over himself - whereafter he returned to prayer. "Though all thanks be due to GOD. Tandem Triumphans."

That is to say, the Petran party accepts and allows six miners freedom to move through their nation’s territory, to be given letters of warrant, for the express purpose of prospecting the rare mineral Daemonsteel. 4. "I love Boon and Bane’s so much. Everything they do is so innovative and fresh and wonderful. I would make them both kings if I was not already king and had two spare thrones." Spoke John, King of Aaun, to some of the courtiers he had come across.
  5. DECLARATION OF REGENCY TO OUR RESTORED REALM, IT IS WITH due reverence that We announce a period of regency in the wake of Our decision to go on a short pilgrimage to venerate the enshrined relics of Calliope of Merryweather to seek her intercession in regards to certain matters currently at hand. During this period of absence, estimated to last a few months total, it is decreed that Our spouse, the Queen-consort, shall take charge as regent over Our Kingdom, entrusted to steward it in Our stead with Our full confidence. ISSUED AND PROCLAIMED; In the Hand of Horen at Whitespire, On the 21st of Horen’s Calling, 1961 His Royal Majesty, JOHN ALEXANDER, by the Grace of GOD, King of Aaun, Prince of Alstion, Duke of Vienne, the Lowlands, Balemena and Corazon, Count of Whitespire, Enswerp and Florentine, Baron of Blanchet, Protector of the Realm
  6. "To demand that mandatory exorcism prayers be said over every Midlander ought to be the norm," Spoke John of Aaun as he made the final preparations for his planned pilgrimage. "Perhaps that way the demoniacs living among their people can be properly expunged. Though we shall see."
  7. "This certainly is one of the unions of all time" John of Aaun spoke, resolving to contemplate what wedding gifts to prepare well in advance.
  8. "I suppose we shall see if the Midlanders are sincere, though I highly doubt it," John of Aaun mused after having given the matter some thought after the given clarification. "They seem to have turned to God only in a last-ditch effort following defeat." He reasoned further before setting the papal missive aside. "Though this suggested role of would-be mediator serves the Church better than its previous role of instigator."

  12. THE TREATY OF FREDERICKSBURG BY THE GRACE OF ALMIGHTY GOD, DID THE Grand Covenant see victory at the Siege of Anthill and the subsequent eradication of any venomous Stassionite presence within the Heartlands, their lands now seized by the Kingdom of Aaun. As such it is by right of conquest that the Kingdoms of Aaun, Petra and Balian, hereafter referred to as “the signatories”, lay claim to all titles squandered by Stassionites in the regrettable past. Thus, the following is decreed: I. THAT the signatories agree that the Duchies of the Lowlands and Vienne and any titles deemed to have been held by vassals of Stassion such as the Barony of Blanchet that are not mentioned otherwise shall go to the Crown of Aaun to do with as they please, recognized as rightfully theirs in perpetuity. II. THAT the signatories agree that the Duchy of Furnestock, falsely claimed and stolen by the Stassionites, shall be formally dissolved so as to lay the history of the title to rest in respectful manner. III. THAT the signatories agree that the Margraviate of the Westermarch and Principality of Stassion shall go to the Crown of Petra to do with as they please, recognized as rightfully theirs in perpetuity. IV. THAT the signatories agree that the Principality of Providence, Duchies of Lorraine, Helena and Sunholdt, as well as the County of Pompourelia and Barony of Renzfeld shall go to the Crown of Balian, recognized as rightfully theirs in perpetuity. V. THAT the signatories agree that any who harbor those of Stassion that have not surrendered their arms, submitted themselves to the Mother Church for penance and continue to falsely lay claim to any claimed titles shall be considered as having cut any and all political ties with their respective nations. AS JOINTLY ISSUED AND PROCLAIMED; In the Castle Abrana at Vallagne, Petra On this 15th day of Horen’s Calling, 1960 His Royal Majesty, JOHN ALEXANDER, by the Grace of GOD, King of Aaun, Prince of Alstion, Duke of Vienne, the Lowlands, Balemena and Corazon, Count of Whitespire, Enswerp and Florentine, Baron of Blanchet, Protector of the Realm HER ROYAL MAJESTY, Sybille I, by the Grace of GOD, Queen of Balian, Princess of Providence, Duchess of Helena and Lorraine, Countess of Pompourelia, Viscountess of Eflen and Anatis, Baroness of Renzfield, Brucca, Valens, Malenos and Ciavola, Lady of Portoregne, Atrus and Monterosa, Warden of La Costa Rubinissima, Protector of the Heartlanders and the South, etcetera. Her Majesty, Catherine I, by the Grace of GOD, Queen of the Commonwealth of the Petra, Princess of Stassion, Marquise de Val d’Estenou and of Westermarch, Countess of Temesch and Moere, Baroness of Garmont, Valfleur, Vallagne-en-Petra, Brasca, and of the Phoenixspire, Protector of the Meadows, and Defender of Liberty
  13. The story of the Covenant victory at Stassion in the year of our Lord, 1959 The infantry reached the foot of the mountain, the slope upon which the castle of the House von Theonus was located. It was an old, stone keep that bravely stood guard on the Petran border; and it was in the early morning that the arrayed banners of the Crown of Aaun, under the command of King John, arrived beneath its walls, ready for battle. Anticipation lingered, tense in the air as the two forces soon destined to slaughter one another began their preparations, the land already swept clear of all vegetation to allow the Stassionites their haphazard bolstering of fortifications. King John, together with his bannerman Lodewijk, climbed upon a rock whilst his soldiers made camp below. The Alstion patriarch took out his spyglass and observed the battlefield for a moment, handing it then to the Batavian. "What do you see?” asked the King. "An anthill?” answered the Batavian bannerman. "Indeed, those who dwell inside are like ants and there are many of them swarming inside,” the monarch offered in reply. "What will we do, your Majesty?” Lodewijk inquired. "In the name of GOD - what we do best, good soldier. Stamp them out.” The words of the Aaunic King seemed prophetic as soon after the silence was broken by the sound of war horns, heralding the march of thousands from over the horizon - the allies had arrived. All of them came to the aid of the Godwinite realm just as they had many years ago, when King Charles fought the Anathema, Heinrik of Adria. They did not fail Alstion then, and so they did not now. The King took back his spyglass to view the incoming armies - he saw those of Haense, Balian, Petra, Numendil, Norland, Hyspia and Urguan arriving. Gladdened to see them all. SOON THE BATTLE WAS TO BEGIN. King John observes the forward elements of the Covenant’s forces, c. 1959 THE BATTLE - 10th of Tobias’ Bounty 1959 It started as the sun was slowly dawning. The King of Haense stood firm upon the ramparts, gazing at the Castle Aurelian where the forces of Stassion, Veletz and Krugmar had united to defend the oathbreakers’ land against the forces of the Covenant. The outcome of the battle was not yet to be known by either side: much was at stake upon that day. Aleksandr II looked solemnly at the united armies of Canondom and dipped his head, giving the signal to start firing. So then did the symphony of cannons echo through the Lowlands. Veletz responded with their own artillery - however they stood no chance against the superior numbers of the Covenant’s own siege engines. Men died, walls crumbled, and the bombardment continued for an extended period of time before finally falling silent. The two parties awaited the dust to settle and the smoke to dissipate, so that they could see what had become of each other. The Veletzian cannons had successfully destroyed some of the Covenant’s cannons and trebuchets, but it was the Covenant that breached the walls of Stassion and cleared out their counterparts, destroying the only line of defense they had. The time of the charge had come. As one, all the leaders ordered their respective armies to climb over the ramparts and storm the ruined castle. The combined forces of Haense, Hyspia, Urguan, Numendil and Norland formed a vanguard of 11000 soldiers flanked by the 2600 soldiers of Aaun and 3000 of Balian. They rushed to claim Castle Aurelian and the village of Fredericksburg while the scouting parties of Numendil and Norland, under the command of Captain Banjo, circled the enemy camp, looking for any breakouts. The rear, guarded by the 3600 Petrans, fought off the incoming Veletzian cavalry allowing for the main force to enter the ruined keep unimpeded. "PUT THOSE LADDERS ON THE WALLS, NOW!” "SHIELD UP!” "TAKE THAT ARCHER OUT!” ...Shouted the soldiers of the Covenant, now braced against the walls of Stassion. The true fight had begun. Ladders lifted upon the walls, arrows were exchanged, and soon a great mass of infantry surged into the castle proper, now committed to a merciless slaughter of its inadequate defenders. Room to room, hall to hall, Covenant soldiers chased down their counterparts, butchering all, even those resistant - the fight had finally been brought to the enemy’s own lands once more, and retribution was spent upon its frantic defenders. So fervent was the fury of the Covenant, that the Principality of Stassion and their allies - humans and orcs alike - fled the castle and into the city of Fredericksburg. Chased down to the last by the former, their corpses left strewn about to rot under the sun. With the fighting now brought to the streets, houses burned around the combatants as strongpoints were set to the torch, a great inferno now claiming most of the city as its inhabitants were collectively put to the sword along their defenders - the rage of soldiers, specifically those of Aaun, incapable of telling combatant and citizens that hadn’t fled to the safety of the settlement’s church apart. That same church that, despite such a blaze, remained untouched, housing a few dozen frightened refugees, spared the lust of battle and raging fires. As the heat of the siege now settled, the Yachtmen of Captain Banjo led the chase across the countryside, scouring any fleeing remnants they could, and sparing none. The battle had been won. Depiction of the Razing of Fredericksburg, c. 1959 King John had taken a stand between his soldiers amidst the ruins of Castle Aurelian now, his expression not hiding the shock of the sight below. His energy quickly sapped from his bones as his exhilaration faded away with the significance of the events coming to realization. He, along with his worthwhile allies, had just reunited the Kingdom of Aaun, restored order to the Heartlands, put down the Stassionite traitors, and avenged his nephew Edmund II - the Heartlands had endured, and order to the damaged lands would soon be restored. The Grand Prince of Minitz and Prince of Merryweather now neared their King, offering their liege respect as they stood triumphant alongside him and those of the Grand Covenant, prompting him to action after prayer. With the Mace of Horen raised high, the King of Aaun finally shouted, his compatriots doing the same, “TANDEM TRIUMPHANS!”
  14. "..And to think I had the explicit blessing of His Holiness, the Lord's Vicar, to sally out against Stassion when I confided in him," Mused the Deacon-King of Aaun, John, as he read of the Bishop-Emeritus' declaration following the siege. "Stassion broke the holy vow time and time again. The Mother Church is in dire need of better communication, truly."
  15. "Let this be a sign the Stassionites shall be taught the folly of challenging you, Lord," Reasoned the zealous King John as he knelt before the altar at church, having recently heard of the new work. "And be crushed underneath your divine boot - if indeed you are so willing." He concluded, tracing the Lorraine before continuing with prayer as usual, though his prayers still regarded war.

  17. "Our steadfast unity is perhaps the Lord's greatest blessing in this time of troubles yet." Spoke John, King of Aaun, before tracing the Lorraine over himself, and then making for prayer.
  18. "Their days were numbered the day they provoked GOD by attacking that monastery," Reasoned the enraged zealot King John of Aaun as he returned from the battle bloodied though largely uninjured, a horse he had taken from an enemy as a prize and renamed Auspice in honor of the fourth Exalted, Exalted Sigismund, in tow. "May the Lord grant that they shall repent, do penance and bow before the Cross. Then, perhaps, they may yet be spared His wrath."
  19. THE EDICT OF WHITESPIRE TO OUR RESTORED REALM, Nearly sixty years have passed since the signing of the Great Charter of Aaun in 1900 IST, then signed by Our royal grandfather the Venerable-King Charles of blessed memory and the Lords that would jointly go down into history as the founding fathers of Aaun. And though then meant to become the foundation upon which a strong Aaun was to be built, the passing of time has long since laid bare its many faults and deficiencies that have ensured the exact opposite of what was envisioned. Long have We deliberated then, what to do to mend the issues facing Our nation, knowing that the continued policy of decentralization and deliberation by means of the Royal Diet have prevented both Ourselves and Our predecessors from swift action in the face of serious perils that faced the very state. Thus, now, having called forth Our Council and the Diet both, We, King of Aaun and of Our other Territories King, do convey the following with unanimous consent of the leal Crown Estates of Aaun; I. THAT from henceforth the anointed Sovereign and his rightful heirs, sanctified by divine providence and ordained by the will of Almighty God, shall wield absolute authority over the realm. II. THAT as a result the Great Charter and Royal Diet, whose complexities have impeded swift action and resolute measures deemed necessary to ensure welfare of the realm, shall be permanently suspended. This to pave the way for the betterment of the state and for swift action in troubled times. III. THAT, though gradual reform in the coming years so as to not bring about a complete upheaval shall be the norm, all vassals previously considered “petty” are to be placed underneath the Royal Crown effectively immediately. ISSUED AND PROCLAIMED; In the Hand of Horen at Whitespire, On the 22nd of Tobias' Bounty, 1958. His Royal Majesty, JOHN ALEXANDER, by the Grace of GOD, King of Aaun, Prince of Alstion, Duke of Corazon and Balemena, Count of Enswerp and Florentine, Protector of the Realm As further signed by to acknowledge as legitimate and binding, His Highness, JOHANNES VON ALSTREIM, Lord Vandalore, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Elected Margrave of Vanderfell, Baron of Corwinsburg, Lord of Blackwater, Palsgrave, Master of the Langkette Pass His Serene Highness, LEON BARCLAY, GMSTSR, Grand Prince of Minitz, Count of Neu Brandthof, Viscount of Tucay, Baron of Hussen and Boriënwald, Lord of Durres, Chieftain of the Minitz Reinmaren, and Warden of the Franklands The Most Honourable, SIEGMUND VON REUSS, ROKSG, Margrave of Velen, Count of Cantal, Baron Mons Velena and Alsace, Elector of Velen, Protector of the Aschenwald peoples The Most Honourable, OLYMPE-REGINA DIEUXMONT, Marchioness of Haute-Epine, Countess of Beaufroy, Arentaniebourg, Pacidia, e l’Abre d’Or, Baroness of de Rosius, Lady of Dieuxmont
  20. "No mercy for persistent heretics," Spoke John, King of Aaun, after things had concluded. "He should have given up on his Azdrazi heresy when urged to do so. In failing to do so he left me no choice." He reasoned, cleaning his bloodied blade with a cloth. He did not bother to read any of what had been addressed to him, at least for now. "..If only he had just turned away from it, he would not have had to die."
  21. John of Aaun, though otherwise having busied himself with Tuvmas celebrations, takes time out of his day to read the newest Bull. After having read such, he resolved to congratulate Cardinal Frantzisko on his promotion, and to offer him aid with the upcoming construction. BURON CONSTRUCTION LLC would succeed, and the Apostolic City would, in time, be successfully built.
  22. "The Lord's radiance shines upon all, it would so seem." John of Aaun pondered, the matter, on which he was being briefed, still relatively foreign to him.
  23. Though he and the Father Mikhael had never been the best of friends, John Alstion lamented his passing all the same. "May God keep his soul," He muttered after the closing prayers of Vespers that same day he had found out.
  24. ABDANKUNGSURKUNDE WRIT OF ABDICATION Issued by the PRINCE OF SUTICA On the 9th of Tov and Yermey of 508 E.S. TO THE PIOUS MEN AND WOMEN OF REINMAR, HAENSE, AND WHOMEVER THIS MAY CONCERN, For twenty-eight years I have held the titles of my predecessors, since the abdication of my father, and passing of my grandmother, who inherited the titleage from Saint Johann, and so on. And though I do not doubt that the diligence that flows the same in all Reinmaren still flows through me, in this time I have grown tired, and as of now been occupied with more private matters as my children come of age and prepare for the next stages of their life. The Princely House Barclay has always recognised the importance of acknowledging the time to step down and abdicate, to allow diligence to course through the head of the house at all times, and it is for that reason, judging my son and heir to have successfully completed his trials and proven himself of adequate standing to take up after me that I, Manfred II of House Barclay of Reinmar, hereby announce my abdication as Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar and High Chief of the Reinmaren upon the publication of this writ, to be referred to from this point onwards as His Lordship, Manfred Johann Barclay, the Duke-Emeritus of Reinmar. In doing so, I hereby pass my family’s respective titles down to their rightful heirs: I. The Principality of Sutica and the Duchy of Reinmar alongside its subsidiary titles to be transferred to my eldest son, Alfred Barclay, to be referred to from hereon as His Princely Grace, Alfred Barclay, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, and so forth, so forth. II. The High Chiefdom of the Reinmaren, to be transferred to His Serene Highness, Ferdinand Barclay, Grand Prince of Minitz, as the eldest of the Reinmaren Chieftains. May GOD bless them come what may as He has blessed me these past twenty-eight years. WER RASTET, DER ROSTET GOTT MIT UNS, His Princely Grace, Manfred Johann Barclay, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Freimark and Kretzen, Baron of Madvon and Freising, Lord of Sankt Johannsburg, High Chief of the Reinmaren
  25. John of Aaun thanked God quietly in the chapel of Our Lady of Paradisius, most grateful to have many capable holy men serving in his secular domain. "I ought to get them all together sometime. Have a talk and discuss how we can better ensure the wellbeing of the faith."
