The Pact of the Lotharene 10th Sigismund’s End 43 B.A I- On Sovereignty The Kingdom of Balian and The Silver State of Haelun’or hereby recognise each other’s claims to sovereignty and their right to the lands they claim as their own, ruled by their respected leaders. They also recognise their ability to claim land that is not part of their recognised government. II- On Non-Aggression Should the Kingdom of Balian and The Silver State of Haelun’or take up arms against the other, all other clauses of this pact will be thereby null and void, unless reinstated by both nations III- On Defense The Kingdom of Balian and Haelun’or hereby pledge to defend each other from any foreign invaders they may have. This clause may be void in the case of it affecting any standing pacts that Balian or The Silver State of Haelun’or may have with another foreign nation. IV- On the Darkspawn Threat The Kingdom of Balian and The Silver State of Haelun’or hereby pledge to fight together against any Darkspawn threats they may incur and share any information they know of in relation to these threats. V- On Offense The Silver State of Haelun’or hereby pledges to take up arms against any foreign nation The Kingdom of Balian decides to, The Kingdom of Balian is not expected to reciprocate such. However, should The Silver State of Haelun’or be at risk of breaking their own standing pacts they are able to abstain. VI- On Free Movement The Kingdom of Balian and The Silver State of Haelun’or hereby pledge that the citizens of both states are allowed complete free movement between their lands. However any military matters conducted on each other’s land must require written consent to do so. VII- On The Protector of the South The Silver State of Haelun’or hereby continues to recognise The Kingdom of Balian as The Protector of the South due to its continued efforts within the Southern Continent. VIII- On Trade The Kingdom of Balian and The Silver State of Haelun'or hereby pledge to permit and facilitate trade between their respective dominions. IX- On Celebration To celebrate the new found friendship there will be festivities in the City of Atrus for both states to partake in, funded by both of them and planned together. X- On Duration This pact will last twenty years, once this is over, both signatories may review and extend this pact should they both desire to. The Great Bear Rests Count Drako Darkwood, a man devoted to family and loyalty has died. The Atrus Covenant Introduction: With the oncoming attack of Cloudbreaker in the lands of Balian, and the increased missives and sightings of the undead, it has become evident to all in Almaris that there is more to come, that we will all soon be besieged by those forces of Iblees and the Necrotic. In order to ensure that all nations are defended adequately from these threats and that all of descendant-kind survive in the Ibleesian war, many nations and settlements have signed this pact in order to work together against the forces of Iblees. Definitions: Darkspawn- A tainted creature such as a vampire, azdrazi, inferi, etc. that holds unnatural power that is used to their advantage in their attacks against descendant-kind. Darkmages- A magi such as a necromancer, herald, mystic etc. that has magic that comes from a dark/evil source and uses it to their advantage in their attacks against descendant-kind. Article I - Ibleesian Forces and the Necrotic The signatories of this treaty shall hereby pledge their allegiance to each other in order to undertake the attack and defence against the forces of Iblees and the necromancers. They will focus on this war against those that seek to destroy the world above all else. Together they will use their full force in order to defeat the forces of Iblees and ensure that no nation falls to the forces that seek to divide us and ruin us. Balianite Advisory Announcement 7th of Horen’s Calling, 41 B.A. A Decree from the Crown With the Dragon oncoming, prepared to attack the lands of the Kingdom of Balian, it has come to pass that the Crown must make several announcements on the matter of advising the people of Balian what to do in the coming months. Firstly, the people are suggested to prepare for evacuation of Atrus. As the city is to come under siege, those who cannot fight the dragon, due to age, ailment, or otherwise, should take themselves elsewhere. In addition, those whom leave belongings should seek to have them taken elsewhere. Secondly, many sightings of undead and unknown black substances have some to pass. Avoid the substances as we do not know their use or strength, carry a blunt and/or aurum weapon with you at all times in case these undead attack as it is the most simple offence against them.
