A blanket of gloominess drapes over Kralta, choking it of its surrounding green splendor. Raevir thugs line the damp alleyways rolling dice, whilst honest Crowkin go about their business in the market, homes, or tavern. Shouts from taverns erupt in “Remove Green!, Crow over Cross!, or “Down with Mace-Catchers!” It is not uncommon to see a corpse, or an unconscious body littering the filthy streets of the village, either with a rusty knife or a bottle of Carrion Black™ clutched in their grimy hands, it matters not, for the villagers will mostly step over the body, and continue on their way. The taverns are often filled to the brim of Raevirs and Strelesy well into their cups, often toasting the Creator, Godanistan in Raev tongue, or calling for the downfall of any rascals who dare summon the ire of the crow-kings.
The Krelmstad castle stands watch over Kralta like a beacon, it’s round spires and behemoth structure stands intimidatingly over the border of Adunia, daring any Mel-Gibsonite, Green Mold, or corrupted spookman to challenge the Raevir citadel.
The peasantry of Kralta, or strelts in Raevir tongue, all owe due loyalty and service to their Lord and King, Siegmund Carrion. Lord Carrion does not hold bannermen, he sees that bedecking men in uniforms does not make a man a soldier.
Instead, the bulk of the Crowlord’s host is made up of these “strelt levies”, vast mobs of gritty Raevir peasants, hardened by work in the fields and back alleys and tempered in the blood of past battles. While a lord’s bannermen fly their colors proudly and march on as green as those before them, the streltsy of Raev are always grim and dour, knowing that their next bout may be their last.
The strelesy are more than the town’s defenders and stalwart protectors, however; they keep its larders filled with fresh wheat and sweetcarrots, till the fields, mine the rocks of their estate, and keep the cogs of Kralta churning. They follow the Godanistani tried and true method of the harvest cycle, choosing to spend elven days performing each step of crop growth. Charters are even given to those of loyal stock to manage their own estates and aid in the growth of Ruska and Oren.
While low birth in the Orenian soil is often considered a curse, the strelts and strela of Kralta all bond together to work beyond their birth and rise through their hierarchy, taking civil roles in their towns, estates, and settlements. They act as the lifeblood to Ruska, both its sword and sickle, its military and economic driving force.

Heralds read out from a thick parchment at many of Oren’s derelict settlements, and its bustling capital of Abresi.
“Seeking strelesy! Hard workers and brave men to field the Ruskan North of Kralta in both sword and sickle!”
Those interested step forward to inquire with the herald are peppered with questions.

“Religion is important to the strelts, they are not open minded you could say, you a follower of the True Faith? Best get baptized by good Bogdanistan when you get there, help you ease in with the locals.”
"What work will you take as strelt? Mining, farming, lumberjacking, cooking, cleaning, barkeeping, tar-keeping, dungeon-work, masonry...netherbrick, you can be anything over there. So what'll it be?"
